Shutterstock Trains OpenAI and DALLE

Shutterstock has extended its partnership with OpenAI to provide training data on AI images, video, and music.
They just expanded the partnership for another 6 year collaboration.
OpenAI will add this training to DALLE 2, their AI image generator.
And Shutterstock will get a DALLE powered AI interface to allow their customers to use synthetic editing to create new content or transform images in the Shutterstock library.
Shutterstock also has a compensation package for their contributors to ensure they get paid for the use of their data in the training model.
And artists will receive ongoing royalties based on the new licensing agreement.
This is not the only AI collaboration Shutterstock has going on.
They are talks with Nvidia, Meta, and LG to develop AI tools for working with 3D images and text.
The approach Shutterstock is taking is part of the membership in the United Nation’s AI for Good platform and the World Ethical Data Forum to help create AI data sets that are free from bias and compensate the creators of the content it was trained on.
