Afscheid van gorilla's Iriki en Tayari (Apenheul).

- 30/10/2019: Eerst wat archiefbeelden van baby gorilla's Tayari (23/2/2011) en Iriki (10/1/2011) met hun moeders Gyasi en Mandji. Daarna mijn laatste bezoek aan Apenheul in de herfst van 2019. Vlak daarna zijn Iriki en Tayari verhuisd naar Taipei Zoo in Taiwan, daar hebben ze kennis gemaakt met hun nieuwe man, D'Jeeco (in 1998 in Diergaarde Blijdorp, Rotterdam geboren).
In Apenheul blijven over: Bao Bao, (1985) de zilverrug; Mintha (1974) en dochter M'Fugaji (2009), Mandji (1975) en dochter Nemsi (2001), Gyasi (2002), Chama (2011) en Jabari (2012).
First some archive footage of baby gorillas Tayari (23/2/2011) and Iriki (10/1/2011) with their mothers Gyasi and Mandji. Then my last visit to Apenheul in the fall of 2019. Shortly afterwards Iriki and Tayari moved to Taipei Zoo in Taiwan, where they met their new husband, D'Jeeco (born in 1998 in Rotterdam Zoo).
The following remain in Apenheul: Bao Bao, (1985) the silverback; Mintha (1974) and daughter M'Fugaji (2009), Mandji (1975) and daughter Nemsi (2001), Gyasi (2002), Chama (2011) and Jabari (2012).

Tay is smarter than most humans
Agree! She cracks me up. Getting into places she shouldn’t be and coming close to escaping places that she should stay. My husband and I are amazed at her reasoning skills. You can see her wheels turning.
Baby Iriki is so precious! Just like her son Ringo! Tayari is so much like her mom!
Looks like Iriki was always “the quiet one” and a bit of a loner. ❤ I’m so glad that she and Tayari have found a beautiful home and wonderful family in Taipei.
Tayari is still trying to escape but from the Taipei Zoo lmaoo. Taytay is still a trip. Now seeing her family I understand where she gets her personality from.

Lol leave it to tayari to be the escape artist with the electric fence 😂😂😂. It was nice to see Iriki and Tayari as young gorillas themselves with their own mommas ❤. I say it all the time and ill keep saying it....I do wish Gyasi was still with us. She had such a big personality that she obviously passed down to Tayari who is now teaching her own son Jabali ❤
Thank you for this video of baby Tay and Iriki. It is easy to see how they became such good mothers to Jabali and Ringo. Their mothers were very good examples.

just amazing. More people should see this. How smart is that Gorilla to use a peace of wood to push down the fence and not get shocked.

Tayari is just so smart, lively and naughty as usual. She really needs a more enriched environment in Taipei to allow her to be herself.

WOW 😀❤ she is a clever girl using the wood stick to conduct the electric fence charge to get back through.
She is getting better at strategies. In her current home, she has tried many times and has succeeded in her goals a couple of times. Then you can see her frustration when she comes out and notices her "tools" have been removed. I think in her latest, she got frustrated with not finding the tools to assist her in her quest. She looks around and throws the stick she was hoping to use to climb an electrified tree she loves. It is sad to watch; she's too clever and inquisitive and has nothing to keep her occupied or entertained. I think that is why she goes and plays or fights, pure frustration. For more than I love D'jecco's family, I don't think Iriki is a match, she deserves a more loving Silverback and a more playful group. I love D'jecco and Iriki, but they are a bit boring.
All adult gorillas of the Djeeco-family were born and raised up in the Netherlands.

I just found this video, so this is where Tayari & Iriki came from? Where is this please & where did D Jeeco come from? Where they moved to a different zoo?
This is in The Netherlands, they were born and raised here then moved to Taiwan where they are now.

Bao Bao has heart problems, but he is still here. He did have a son with Gyasi a couple of years ago before Gyasi passed away. His Name is Kiango and he is a character LOL. I know this comment is 2 years old but I just saw this.

No, They are the first for each
So Tayari and Iriki had been wives of Bao Bao for one and half year?
No, Bao Bao spent about 9 months with Mintha, Mandji and M'Fugaji on the separate island. After the departure of Jambo and sons in December 2018, he was introduced to the other ladies and Jabari.

@@charlesmccoy5857 It's happened to a lot of gorillas I'm pretty sure the people who manufacture the drugs for this process are using the gorillas as test subjects.

那隻是接近成年的公猩猩, 也叫Jabali , 寶寶不喜歡牠日後會威脅其地位。沒多久, Jabali 就被移往他處了。
