Same here sir but if you like old houses and stuff like that visit europe i bet you will moss your dogs but we have so mush old stuff for you to see it will keep you busy for a long time 😊
Yes we can call that the good old days when those places were wide-open and the environment was sometimes quite different there was more food to eat Pinon nuts and just all kinds of things that you can't even imagine that are gone from the landscape now destroyed by cattle droughts floods pesticides heat extremes lack of water Timber cutting colecting!! sometimes the lack of the Native Americans would plant!or burn off land to bring back grass to bring in-game etc etc
To honor the old ones that came before is what I was told back in the70s by my grandpa can not remember what he called them but every scene then I add a small stone
Good to see you out and about again Brett, like you said in the last video time gets away from us and we have to decide what we are going to do and the things that we can do. Thanks again for sharing your adventures. Happy trails and good hunting to you and yours. Looking forward to seeing the leave home and just go trips. I would like to do the same on foot with a few tools and walk wherever I decide to go. It’s a explorer and collecter thing that runs in a mountain mans blood. 💪🏽🎥💯👍
I love your videos and perspective of what you're doing. I'll be 64 next week and have a few mules and horses and along with you I hope to be a hunter and cowboy when I grow up ! Onward and Upward ! I Love it !
Back in the late 70s or early 80s, my Dad had a few Airedales around the place. We hunted coons. Big male my Brother called Igor. We crossed him on a Walker and got a half hound female we called Liz. Your observation was right. They were tough and gritty but lacked the trail and tree a hound had. Always enjoy your content Brett. Thanks
Yep they are my partners .. we spend a lot of time together .. Ruth is the only one I kinda need to watch .. if she had her choice she would leave .. Thanks
Another great one my brother .. seemed to me there were ghosts staring out of that old rock house .. spirits of days gone by … As always.. Onward and Upward is the Watchword ..
The old cabin was possibly a miner's cabin. the size and lay out is about right. if so, an old mine hole might be found somewhere in the surrounding hills. Just a thought... I enjoyed riding along with you, Thank you.
Thanks again for the adventure. My brother and I hiked our 2 sons into the Animas about 20 years ago when they were 14. Took photos of the old ranch cabin. Which I understand burned down in the Silver fire. At least we got to see history before it was gone.
We hunt raccoons with Walkers, Blueticks, Black and Tans, Plotts, and Redbones. I miss going when I was young; I could stay out all night. Nowadays, I'm just getting old like everyone else. Our wives always hated that we stayed out all night, so we'd bring them along once, and they would never ask to come again... lol.
Another great video. Good hounds and good mules. I like to start my day watching your videos. Just wish I was there riding with you in that great looking country. I have mostly owned beagles and Plotts but I like all hounds.
Brett: enjoy your videos and looking at your equipment. I am near 80 and still ride young horses in empty country here in southern jArizona, New Mexico, eastern Idaho and northern Wyoming. I start all my client’s horses and my own youngsters under pack saddles. Before I ever throw a leg over them, they have seen a lot of country trailing behind my saddle horse. I carry up to 4 of the large, hard sided Forest Service canteens for emergencies. I never ride beyond a dry water source on a day ride. As you know, out in this big, dry country, rides are determined by the availability of water. Starting young horses under a light pack gets them used to things banging around and the presence of a lead horse keeps them calm. By the time I step up on them, they have seen and heard about everything so the wrecks are milder and surely fewer.. Not telling you anything you do not know. I carry a Garmin In Reach, on my gunbelt so that I can contact emergency help if I get into a storm and need a trailer or other assistance. Have you ever used a bivvy sack instead of a tent in warm weather to keep the rattlers away? Up in the Northern tier, I sleep in the open next to my fire as I am scared to death of bears. And I take two bully breed dogs. Wild country is the balm for our souls and the outside of horses and dogs is good for the inside of us. See to your weapons and stand to your horses, Storm Rough Country Horses
Thank you .. I can only hope that I am in good enough shape as you at that age ...
