Moral of the story, spray your venus fly traps with honey water to attract the wasps and flies to kill them off.
No, they are enticed into the fly trap because someone has dripped a sugar substances on the flytrap so they can film them getting caught..............
@@marx4325 They excrete nectar on the rim by itself. Someone dropped the sugar water into the middle to attract wasps. But normally fly’s would lick the rim and walk inside the trap for safety or a sure footing and then trigger the hairs leaving them to die

Treacherous Trap Hole!
I read that in the Skyrim guard voice
1:44 the fact that her didn’t close ;-;
A Venus Fly trap has a Single braincell, this braincell count's how many times a hair has been touched, if it get's touched 4 Times with less then 5sec in-between, the brain cell knows that it is deep in there and will bite. If after the bute the hair is still touched like 3 times, the plant knows something struggles and produced acid for whatever is inside to eat it. They only produce it then to save energy if it was a miss.
This wasp was just lucky that it didn't touch the hair multiple times since it was standing there pretty still.
@@fa14bi-78 wow nice explanation
@@fa14bi-78 Where did you hear about the braincell thing? I remember for my final year in Highschool I was doing a report on Venus Flytrap and couldn't find anything on how the trap knew to close, only that it detected when it's hairs had been stimulated and then it closed by a change in internal water pressures.
@@fa14bi-78 They don't have braincells.
A lot of plants can feel, or touch. That's how a flytrap knows if the prey is vulnerable or near-vulnerable.
Like how the Mimosa Pudica folds inwards when touched in defense.
@@cybergalacticnova Yes already said, the planthead itself shows the same Chemical reaction when activated.
I just have Chosen to say Single brain cell, to sum it up, since that's just how it works.
And yes I also heard from Anton and looked at his links that plants make high frequency noises any now and then when hurted, or drying up. But I wanna wait until it's proven another time
I must add that I can't be always right, and science also Changes over time.
I just started as an Chemist but i'm far from an expert. Corrections are always welcomed, and you should never think that you said the 100% correct thing, something I have learned in 2 Years of labour.
And no matter how crazy it sounds, you have to prove it wrong and not Ignoring it. We only figure new things out by doing thinks wrong and wrong again until some Idea actually let you came closer to an result.

The fact that they close slowly and that they take their time makes me think they truly enjoy eating them.
@Векторная Эйфория That makes perfect sense. But I'm going to imagine the plants enjoy killing their prey.
Yeah, to help protect against false alarms, (1) the traps don't close until the guard hairs have been tripped _twice,_ and (2) the trap doesn't actually start digesting the prey unless it continues to trigger the guard hairs while trapped.
