    Which tire shine do you prefer? What is your go-to tire shine normally?

      Nanoskin white lightening. $40 a gallon, perfect sheen and lasts pretty damn well for a water based dressing. But it does have added polymers that helps it last longer and is hydrophobic unlike most water based.

    Nice video, Will. Although I have been using Darkside for a while, a few days ago I started my own tire test on my wife’s car, with one wheel coated with Darkside; Clean; DIY Detail; and ADS Tire+. I ran out of tires before I could apply ADS Ghost. LOL!! I put two coats on each tire after cleaning with P&S Undressed to remove any old stuff. All four tires initially looked great with two coats, but it’s too early to judge longevity.

      @@TomScelfo thanks Tom! I have a video coming next week on Pan’s line and comparing darkside with Pan’s. Ghost is surprisingly durable and the shine persists very well! Thanks for watching!

    Thanks for another great video. I’m not into shiny tyres but I do like them clean and uniform. Ceracote ceramic tire dressing is excellent. Matt, black, clean for a few months and very easy to apply. Darkside and Ghost both look great though.

    Generally, When a product is water based or chemical based it is referring to the carrier of the product. For a water base it uses water or environmental friendly products mixed with the tire protectant so you can spray the product on the tire (for this example) then the water or environmental friendly products evaporates away and leaves only the tire protectant on the tire. For chemical based products it uses chemicals mixed with the tire protectant. Which is probably why darkside cures slower and ghost dries very quick. If a product is water or chemical base should have nothing to do with the durability.

    I've been using Darkside on my new Lexus and it works better than anything I have tried so far!!! After a month it looks just as good as the day I applied it!!!!

      Darkside is definitely one of the top dressings! the only thing that changes is the shine/sheen after a week for two but still remains nice and dark! Glad you're enjoying it! Thanks for watching!

    There are much finer and firmer brushes for tire dressing that I use that don't leave any brush streaks. I have used lots of different tire coatings/dressings etc. I prefer a more matte look then a shiny tire. My current favorites are (not in any order) Dark side, Clean by Pan and Adams graphine tire. all are very durable, Matte finishes

    Thanks for going over best application method and then the 1 week later test! Any thoughts on Carpro PERL as compared to these two?

    • @willsridecare
      @willsridecare  3 місяці тому +2

      Thanks!! Perl is a traditional water based dressing, so it's not meant to last long, falls off after one rain. But if you like to put on fresh tire shine every week then it's a good option like VRP from Chemical Guys.

    Been using Darkside for a while and love the results. Just not a fan of the curing time. Ghost looks like a solid product that is in the same league. Looks like you can't go wrong with either one. Looking forward to the follow up to see how long they last!

    • @willsridecare
      @willsridecare  3 місяці тому +1

      Right, definitely be careful with applying it too think, it will stay wet for days. But it would definitely benefit from faster cure time! Thanks for watching!

    To apply ghost the next time, was it a pain to remove exisitng coating?

    • @willsridecare
      @willsridecare  Місяць тому +1

      If it's ghost on ghost, then I wouldn't worry too much on getting it completely off. But the easiest way I know to prep tires is using Dark Fury or mineral spirit. Thanks for watching!

    Looks good hope for some more updates, maybe 1 month out and then how long before you decided you had to reapply ghost. Curious how long it lasts in the real world.

    Used DarkSide recently after completely cleaning the tires. ShinyAF. WAY too shiny for me. If you control it well on trim, looks pretty sweet.

    • @willsridecare
      @willsridecare  2 місяці тому +1

      Yeah the shine is not for everyone! I noticed Darkside will appear very shiny if it's applied thick. Using less product and spread it out thinner might help with that. Thanks for watching!

    Ghost works best if you get an even blue colour all round, think you could do with a little bit more. Do two layers to get a similar result to darkside- it'll last longer and give great hydrophobics

    How the heck do you manage the brush when applying tire dressing?? I tried it recently with CLEAN tire dressing and it’s so strange

    • @willsridecare
      @willsridecare  3 місяці тому

      I have the sprayer turned to the most misting position and when you spray, pull the trigger all the way fast. I tried a sprayer with Pan's tire dressing as well and it sprays very similarly to Darkside. Thanks for watching!
