There are two types of people in this world. There are those that break their noodles, and there are those who don't. The breaking noodles habit was probably developed when noodles were meant to be seeped in boiling water in a bowl and not cooked on stovetop. It's hard to get the noodles submerged completely without breaking the patties in half. Eventually people decided that cooking on stovetop was a better way of doing it because the noodles would be more well cooked, especially for the thicker variants, but the breaking habit was still retained despite the vessel being wider.

As a Swiss, I'm always amazed that Maggi is so popular in asia. I don't understand how something originating from our meh tasting cuisine appeals to people with some of the most flavourful food.
It does not. Even in India it's considered cheap food that is not supposed to taste good. However it's the go to thing for all college people and any mother who does not have time to prepare a proper meal. Instant noodles are quite popular around the world despite it being a well known fact that its cheap food and anything homemade or something fresh in a restraunt will always be better. It therefore has a nostalgic value to It. As you can Indians are quite transformative with it though. The plain maggi is practically converted to a dish that looks and tastes like something that you would normally eat in India.
There are probably two, maybe three factors that make it so popular in India. Firstly, they've really altered the tastemaker to favour the Indian palate. That in itself makes the noodles very versatile. Any other combination of spices would've made Maggi too one directional. Indians like versatility, lol. Secondly, as the comment above remarks, the nostalgia of it. There is one thing you'll find with every student living away from home, and that's Maggi. It's also food for people who are hard pressed for money. By that I mean the terrible end of the month pockets. Students in particular live a frugal life so Maggi is almost the next best alternative. I myself had some for dinner last night. Thirdly, like Raktim so correctly pointed out, we can't do anything straight. So after all the years Maggi has been in the market there have been hundreds of variations made to it. Everyone has their own way of preparing it, and its always fun trying someone else's recipe. Maggi is the most versatile food option out there. You can have it plain, or make a whole meal out of it and serve a party of six. At this point Maggi is not even Swiss, it's Indian. 😆
This is honestly so wholesome and the recipe looks like something my mom would make to make instant noodles more "healthy", I'll definitely try this too with significantly less spice😳
I am an Indian and not at all surprised by this recipe..I think we have thousands of recipes for maggie..but yes..I love the recipe and the boy...I don't know why but feeling proud of him😃

Finally I found someone who saves the spice packet to put it on maggi when it's fully cooked.....you know we all have tasted that spice raw so I just simply tried it once and saved some of the masala for the end and seasoned my completely ready maggi with it....trust it's me the best...i have been following this thing from past 6 monthes now....😋😋😋
This is how I make my Maggie--> 1 sliced onion ½ chopped Green capcicum (any colour) ½-1 sliced potatoes 1 egg 1 cube of cheese (optional) If you're worrying that potato will make it mushy, well a bit. But I looooove that texture! DAMN...my mouth is watering 🤤🍜

Maybe in villages. You can buy sausages and salami amd hams from most supermarkets in cities and towns. I literally have a slice of salami almost everyday for breakfast lol. And it is HEAVENLY with noodles.
We do add veggies... But not this much...like some onion and capsicum ...green chillies ...we just saute it ...add the packet of maggie masala ..add water let it boil for one min and then add the noodle...and we are good to go with it ...it hardly takes 10 mins and very much delicious

Lisa, thank you so much for listening and making a whole video out of this little guy’s voice message. I am so happy how much this video must have boosted his confidence. Raktim, just listening to your voice gives such a homely vibe, like a younger brother. God bless you child.
My mother makes Lasagna maggie and it's the best version one can ever have. You boil the noodles and put them aside (do not boil them entirely). In another vessel prepare your gravy. My family is vegetarian so we do not add any meat. We use carrots, onions, peas, bell peppers, broccoli, green and purple cabbages, capsicum, french beans, tomatoes. We add all the spices like salt, red chilli powder, trumeric powder. and trust me in the gravy you need just one spoon oil. once the gravy is almost done, we add the taste maker in it and other seasonings of our choice. Now we spread the maggie like lasagna sheets and add the gravy. we make multiple such layers. As we reach the top layer, my mother makes a small hole in the middle and adds fresh cream which is home made (malai as what we call it in india). We garnish it with literally lots of coriander (cilantro) and slices of cheese. We then bake it in the oven. once the cheese melts (and also burns a little) you're ready to go. We prefer it a little spicy but in order to make it mild you can avoid adding red chilli powder or add more fresh cream, it works both ways.
Omg love it. There is so many versions of Maggi recipe in India. Though few ingredients of it I havnt added. Just love how he explained it and you literally did it with his voice over❤️
I love Maggi! Every Indian does ❤️ There are infinite ways of making maggi, every household has a particular way they like their maggi, that’s what makes it so lovable noodle of all times! When I moved to the US, it was my saviour, I didn’t know how to survive without maggi as I was still figuring out things! The comfort and happiness this small packet brings is just incomparable! Thank you for showing this version of our beloved noodle 🍜 loved it ❤️

Hey, Lisa! Indian here. Here's my favourite Maggi recipe, it's super simple. Just cook the Maggi like you would normally, and add around 2 teaspoons of the Shin Ramen flavouring before you plate it (trust me on this one, the mixture of the two flavourings is divine). Then sprinkle on some chilli flakes and you're done!
Maggi is a very versatile type of instant noodles... you can throw in what ever you want and it is still gonna take delicious.... emphasis on "WHATEVER" just don't forget to add the Maggi masala...
My mom cooks Maggie in same way but it's fully veg. It does tastes good if you fry the veggies first and later add the noodles. One can also add cheese or soy sauce little bit. Nonetheless Maggie can be cooked in different ways. Every household has their own ways I'm guessing.

I didn't realize how much I loved Indian food till my cooking class last year. Will definitely have to try this recipe, it looks fantastic!
Damn…… Raktim is going to be a great chef one day, Extremely precise !!!
Exactly! That's what i was thinking... he didn't miss even the slightest of detail!
Mhm
Man I was just craving maggi.... And now this video lemme make some👀

This is honestly so wholesome and the recipe looks like something my mom would make to make instant noodles more "healthy", I'll definitely try this too with significantly less spice😳
I am an Indian and not at all surprised by this recipe..I think we have thousands of recipes for maggie..but yes..I love the recipe and the boy...I don't know why but feeling proud of him😃
that was a first for me being an india, especially with the potatoes.. This guy really put his all into this recipe. I understand how he must be feeling about people having plain maggi haha.
I like maggie plain and I was so upset when he told "NO ONE EATS MAGGIE PLAIN"😭😭
Then he proceeded to make literal stew xd
Exactly? I have never had suasages in Maggie … just veggies like carrots and capsicum

Finally I found someone who saves the spice packet to put it on maggi when it's fully cooked.....you know we all have tasted that spice raw so I just simply tried it once and saved some of the masala for the end and seasoned my completely ready maggi with it....trust it's me the best...i have been following this thing from past 6 monthes now....😋😋😋
This is how I make my Maggie-->
1 sliced onion
½ chopped Green capcicum (any colour)
½-1 sliced potatoes
1 egg
1 cube of cheese (optional)
If you're worrying that potato will make it mushy, well a bit. But I looooove that texture!
DAMN...my mouth is watering 🤤🍜
Aww this was such a sweet way to showcase the voicemail message. You let them and their voice be the star ⭐Your actions also fit the instructions perfectly even the tiny bits like moving of the knife from 1/2 to 3/4 onion 🤣😆 Will have to try this sometime thanks Lisa (and voicemail msg)!
You should start a series like this. People send you recipes as voicenotes and you post the recipes. Would watch it 100/10 🤩
Ohh my god... So impressed by the detailed and specific instructions this boy definitely needed a shoutout really very smart boy👏👏
It’s beautiful the way you took his suggestions into consideration and made an entire video with his voice note. The smile this video might have brought on that little child’s face is a blessing that will come back to you in a lovely way sometime. God bless you❤️
His little voice was so adorable!😭😭😭🖤
20 minutes omg that's just more of a dedication
" We have a problem , we don't do anything straight ". Ohhh boiii 😂! Let me tell u that he is surely a maggi lover , because being an Indian i would never do that much hard work for making Maggi like seriously never 😂!
Hey i have a simpler one
Soya sauce 1tsp
Garlic and ginger 1tsp
Sesame oil 1- 2tsp
Chilli powder as required i use ½ to 1tsp
And the Maggie masala and make it as a paste and then put it to boiling noodles and cook for 2min i hope it finds helpful

Ikr.. if it's maggi we'd just boil it with the spice mix and chomp it down.. no veggies..
Yes, I only add onion, garlic and chilli and sometimes potatoes. But I don't add all these veggies, cuz I don't have that much time 😭
I know right. I mean hot dogs. where in heaven's name did that came from⁉️

I was smiling the whole video. His voice warmed the heart. India probably have 1000s of recipies for Maggie. This was a new recipe for me. The video was wholesome
I just tried this and it was delicious! I didn't have sausages so I skipped it,still it tasted bomb, definitely trying again👍
LOl that really was wholesome, he was VERY serious and it's hilarious how detailed his instructions are. great vid
My mum never let us have maggi growing up.. My friend meanwhile used to bring this version of maggi for lunch many times... I would look at her with those puppy eyes and she would give me few spoonfuls till one day she actually bought me a separate box.. And i cried that day! Brings back memories ❤ finally I get the recipe.. Thanks

Tbh the Maggie is a versatile food , there are so many variations , personally I like it like it is in the packet plain , also Lisa you're such a sweetheart , i loved the video
Omg wait he did such a good job giving the recipe! I’d need to write it all down but he knew measurements by heart , he sounds like such a good boy - whoever taught him this recipe should feel very proud he’s sharing it so kindly
Processed meat is uncommon in India. So sausage is generally not used .
It is quite common in cities I would say! I consume it frequently!
Maybe in villages. You can buy sausages and salami amd hams from most supermarkets in cities and towns. I literally have a slice of salami almost everyday for breakfast lol. And it is HEAVENLY with noodles.
My comment is not about availability, but about average weekly consumption.
@@Dumpy332 maybe it's not as high as in the US, but it's definitely not "uncommon".
We do add veggies... But not this much...like some onion and capsicum ...green chillies ...we just saute it ...add the packet of maggie masala ..add water let it boil for one min and then add the noodle...and we are good to go with it ...it hardly takes 10 mins and very much delicious
One of the wholesome video I had seen after a long time. Love you Lisa ♥️
i am from India and trust me, a LOTTT of people here including me are just lazy and make Maggie the simple old way. The only thing i do different is put two eggs in it :33
Ikr? The only thing I do is to add green pepper in oil & fry it alongside the ginger garlic paste. That's it Imao
Raktim: crack one egg

Dude I’ve never seen anyone adding potatoes to it in my 15+ years of journey with maggi😂
Huh? Almost everyone I know adds potatoes 💀 and I don't really like potatoes in Maggie so I'm just staring at them like 👁️👄👁️
lol we do
I always add potatoes though
Fr, who is we? Never saw someone add chorizo and potatoes into their maggi.
sameee 😅, I think its uncommon in South india
This was sooooo cute!!!!!! Raktim seems like such a nice patient person and then YOU LISA! you’re the sweetest person ❤❤❤loved the video❤
I'm sure this guy has crazy love for maggi and some day we all are gonna see him making food videos. 😀❤️

Ty as an Veg Indian :)
Ah lol they're right tho. No Indian ever follows the recipe for maggie noodles. This was pretty wholesome and I loved everything about it!
BLESS YOU OMG I LOVE THIS
Honestly this looks so good! Also the kid can really explain well, I suck at explaining soo...
