Just stumbled across this video. I binged watch dive vids in NZ as I don't get into the drink as much as I did back in the day. Now I'm going to obsessively watch the rest of your channel 😅
Slow and steady, no real timeframe just taking the day as it comes. Just finished a contract with an awesome company yesterday so now I need to look at summer and the beach. You gota love life when its grilling and chilling no real commitments to worry about and New Zealand is perfect. First of your videos I've seen keep up the chilled life, just remember live the day but save or put something away for tomorrow.
Not one to be a critic but when chucking on a new rubber …might be best to take the sharp thing out and away from your face ! Mean vids ..do you want a couple of the MPI supplied Paua knives
Sweet I love paua too soo good with great vis and healthy beds like all of NZ should have I'd be searching for a crayfish in that environment as I believe they are more than likely there too bro .
Ash trays ahaha I have my Dad has and a matter of fact is that is what paua shells were used for all through out the 70thys and 80thys consistently used as ashtrays. We in the deep South had sack oyster piss ups or parties as you call them now as a sack of bluff oysters where bought and opening was during the gathering of strong mates whom would bring even more food .
2 years too late but you can buy sit on top kayak thigh braces, which help with control in waves.

Cool dude soild video on paua and catch in cook on kayaking maybe cover up sandfies
What camera gear do you use on the speargun and what sort of speargun were you using
Just a GoPro hero 8 mounted on an old wettie hybrid 100 railgun. Nothing flash, this was the first speargun I ever bought
@@SteadliestCatch also mate was this video in the right hand side of the bay
good vid just wondering where did u get your go pro mount from
The head mount? Man I can’t remember I have had it for years, should be able to find one online pretty easy?
@@SteadliestCatch oh i was wondering about the gun mount
@@charliebutterfield9051 it’s an Omer gun mount designed specifically for that gun handle. I got it on trademe a few years back
Bro mosquitoes can make the most awesome of days turn into the most shittiest of days. I never get anywhere without mozzie spray especially diving
Sure can bro! Hate the bloody things
Awesum bro
awesome bro happy new year
Cheers bro happy new year
A tip for putting your rubbers on would be to put them on where the dyneema wishbone is then sliding it around, choice vid!
Will give that a go next time! Why didn’t I think of that!? Hahah nice one

1:30 krill?
Munida gregaria - squat lobster. The only shallow water squat lobster in nz
Cool 👍@@SteadliestCatch
Goof work. Was that left or right side?
It looks like robin hood Bay? Been years since I've been there.
Dont use em as ashtrays that's disrespectful haha, but my nana had heaps of them all filled with butts
You should be using a plastic knife. Paua will bleed to death if you cut them
Correct, but I only pick the paua that I know are legal size. They can still bleed from plastic knives
@@SteadliestCatch fair point. Good spot there when the weather allows. Hard to find spots in Queen Charlotte
Can sometimes just give them a quick slap off so no need for a knife. Not sure if you use that technique. Good gathering mate
Subscribed bro yew
Thanks man!
I bet he'd get a crayfish if he really looked they are also like paua very well concealed until you spot it .hahaha
Yeah cool video bro. Maybe get a kayak that you can ride waves on. This one clearly isn't working out for you 🤦
Haha all just a bit of fun mate. Can’t take life too seriously 👍
Kill the music and let the natural sound of working for your catch more enjoyable to watch.
You wasted a lot of that paua aye bro
All new gear = unused not prepared for sandflies and most likely a city boy trying to say I'm a youtuber flop
@rose davison haha legend ✊ wasn’t going to waste energy replying to that fella. Thanks for the support, at least someone knows what’s up.
Blokes banging crays and butters ..looks the goods to me …loving a good honest shit vis diving …that’s us most dives top of the south
@@joeandlisamcknight7574 yeah you are not wrong! Gotta make the most of a few meters !
