Actions & Batch Automation in Photoshop - HUGE TIME SAVER

- Tutorial for custom actions and batch processing automation. Apply edits to hundreds of photos in seconds!!!
Have you ever wanted to automatically edit and rename a thousand images? Don't do it one file at a time! You can very easily automate this. WORK SMARTER.
Think about things you do in Photoshop often -- maybe it's a simple blur, color grading, or drop shadow effect. Perhaps you just want to resize your document quickly. Once you "record" a process, you can repeat it with a single click.
After you have your action set up, go to:
File - Automation - Batch
Then, you can apply your custom action to an entire folder of images. Imagine you wanted to instantly convert all of your vacation photos to grayscale for some reason. Easy. OR, maybe you have to convert all of those photos to cmyk and save as a different format. That's a no-brainer.

Don’t save them all one by one “like and asshole.” It’s 2:52 AM for me, it’s the holiday season, my batch editing isn’t working and I just laughed so loud at that, that I think I woke up everyone in the house. 😂

This actually saved me so much time, there was a video that I had with a watermark and to remove it, I exported the individual frames from Premiere pro. Although there were thousands of frames to go through, so this actually helped me so much. Thank you 😁

Is there a way for me to take the actions and apply them to another image once the image has been manipulated? In other words, do all of this without recording? Can I just take the applied effects to a given file and apply them to others?

How do you get around this Save As window popping up every time an item in the batch is pulling up a Save As window that is assuming you're saving layers and doesn't even give you the option to save as a jpg. And saying that I think I solved my own problem because I was doing all these steps non-destructively.
So if you want to batch, you should go the route of destructive editing on your actions?

Very helpful tutorial! Just want to say I tried to follow what you did, only by having each image saved as a PNG, but I had a 'save as' window show up for each file. I think I solved this problem by ticking 'Override Action "Save As" Commands and that seemed to work, although I had one duplicate file as a PSD for some reason.
"image processor pro" is a photoshop extensions that saves a lot of time when saving or renaming images.
Is there a way to save one image in multiple sizes ?

Which microphone do you use?
it is not working for reducing file size. i have 30 mb files which i want to redurce in kb's.. which i often do by file>Export>quick export as png Or file>save for web. and it reduce file of MB's in KB's.. but action automated batch is not working for this.saving files as same size. please help i have huge number of files which i have to upload on web.
Search for "image processor pro". This extensions saved a lot of time for me. A LOT.

hi, i accidentaly hid the "action" buttom from the left panels... where can i find it??
9 days too late probably, but you can activate all your windows from the Windows pull-down menu, including the Actions one.
Sometimes when you activate the Actions window(button), it hides next to one of the other windows that you have open, like your Layers or your History.

When I open a new pic, a camera raw windows comes up everytime where i have to click ok to get into the editing. How can I desable that?
Go to edit > preferences > File Handling > camera Raw preferences

I would like to have about 300 png files of a little icon with all different Hue/colortones. with this somehow possible?
I believe you would need to make a batch script. You can write actions in javascript including randomized variables. Might be a little intimidating but it's just a matter of looking up bits of script that do what you want

I just managed to create my action, but it's just this same action, the hue doesn't change, so like you say I have to make it run like a batch script, can I like convert my already created action and make a script out of it? ill try to google that. no idea
