- Wave equation Factoring Method
We find a solution to the wave equation using the factoring method and the method of undetermined coefficients. It is one of the most fundamental partial differential equations and a must-see for any math lover, enjoy!

While the short videos are fun to watch, what I really enjoyed on this channel are the long ones where you tackle difficult problems. It’s so nice to see this type of videos again.
Thank you so much ☺️
I was studying Ray Hanna's PDE book and just read this part! Huge appreciations!!
No way, what are the chances? 😍
Do more on solving differential equations
Very accurate definition of a wave! Great video.
Thank you!! 😊
Wow…. My partial reaction is that you have transported me on waves of ecstasy to mathematical nirvana!
[Additionally, sometime in the next couple of years I want you to train an ai, using all of your videos, papers, education, and other things about yourself; so that I can interact with the ai and get more videos and explanations about any mathematical topic I wish., whenever I wish. Yow.]
Very motivating video, thanks Dr. Peyam!
Thank you!! 😊
Could you mention where to look for the justification of all the steps. Such as the algebra of differentials that you used or operators.
To prove it you start with the factored form and you use the definition of composition of linear transformations: TS(x) = T(S(x)) and it should give you the same result as the unfactored form
Hello dr payam ! In laplace domain we can convert differentiation d/dx into "s" but What about partial differential operator in laplace domain?
Interesting question
How does this method work for two space variables x, y?
Actually x and c are vectors.
