- I'm always looking for new games to learn Japanese and improve reading and listening. Fortunately, there are plenty of games that are great for learning. Today we will check out Genshin Impact and the tools available to learn with this game.

I discovered this video through a UA-cam recommendation. Although I don't study Japanese, I found it fascinating to learn about the names of characters I know and love.
Subscribed. This is amazing! I've been playing Genshin for 3 years and I sometimes switch the text to JP because the kanji looks so pretty. Please make more of this with Genshin!
Noted, thanks for the support!
8:46 reminds me of Kazuha Slash!
Wait what?? Game2text?? I've been playing Genshin in Japanese for half year without knowing this??!!
Thankyou mate for letting us know about this.
It can be a bit tricky to get it to work sometimes, so using it for games with nice clear text and black text boxes works the best!
I wonder if the same goes for Korean. I've been learning Korean on and off for a few years now, and I tried to play the game in Korean once (Korean audio with English text, English audio with Korean text, and Korean audio with Korean text) but I switched back to Japanese audio and English text pretty quickly because it didn't seem to work for me. Even though I play Genshin at least a little bit every day so it should be an amazing resource, or at least an amazing way to weave in some Korean media content every day. Maybe I should try it again sometime...
There should be an extension similar to 10ten Japanese reader for Korean. And Game2Text works as well. It is a bit difficult starting out at first, especially because it slows down your game. But overtime it gets easier!
Seeing gay in ayaka's name is oddly funny
Whos "Sango Miya Kokomi?" Its pronounced "San-go-no-miya Coco-me" and its spelled "Sangonomiya Kokomi" I think
Yeah. it’s tge same case with Ki-no-Shita, 木下, if just kanji its just Ki-Shita.
Thanks for the correction on her surname. Sangonomiya is not a traditional name, so it doesn't come up in translation with the apps, which means I overlooked it during my video. So commonly you just read it as 珊瑚宮 (San-go-miya). Just to clarify for others though, regardless of how they pronounce her name in game, it should be "Ko-ko-mi". The 海 kanji doesn't have any readings with め. I know you didn't mean that in your reply though, but I just read "me" and "mi" differently for Japanese.
Its a Chinese game and imperfect localization is a thing. Wouldn't a Jrpg work better?
In some cases, yes, but the localization is very good for this game, generally speaking. If you are okay with the frequent and massive text in JRPGs, then by all means go for it! I just know it can be a lot for most people. I personally like having more breaks between dialogue and gameplay. With that said, I think the Persona series is fantastic and will definitely be playing Persona 3 in Japanese soon.
??? There is no way right???
Yes way!
