Awesome video! Just a few corrections. The 750w motor has 80nm of torque. They don't claim 100 miles at 28mph. 100 miles is on PAS 1 in eco mode which would be around 12 to 15mph. Suspension is an $89 upgrade option (for front suspension forks and a suspension seatpost). There are also other upgrade options like a 17.5ah battery, urban tires, fenders with a rear rack and light, etc. That is a preproduction bike so the wire routing was pretty rough. Production bikes are a lot neater. You can program the PAS levels from 0-3 all the way up to 0-9 in advanced settings. Rattan also sells a smaller frame and 500w called the X for $100 less which I've done reviews on here on UA-cam. Check out the Facebook group, Rattan ebike owners for more info!
They will also be coming out with a 750w full suspension (front and rear) extremely soon. It will be part of their fat bear bikes sold on their website.
This Looks Awesome! Did you like the Rattan Fat Bear or the Rattan XL better? (At the moment they can be had for similar price) Is the rear suspension that valuable or would a suspension seat post suffice? I'm 5'11 pushing 50 yo and appreciate a soft ride. hmm that’s a tough one. if you’re really looking for a cush ride but you don’t need a larger folding frame that can support much higher than average load capacities, then i’d probably recommend the Fat Bear. the rear sus works well enough, but honestly throwing a seat post sus on is almost always a good idea for electric bikes... adds a lot of comfort in the saddle and the extra weight doesn’t really matter because of the motor
Sounds like the Rattan has a load of features (hydraulic brakes, lights, 8 speed, etc, etc) that are just a step above the competition at it's price point (even if only temporary). The only thing I would fault are the lack of fenders. What a deal!
You would think by having such a massive frame, they could have run the wires through it rather than hanging below the frame. That's was also the turn off for the Walkee X3 that I was close to pulling the ruger on. Wires everywhere.
hey trevor! so glad to hear you dug it buddy. the drone we've been using for a while now is the original Skydio. we should be testing the Skydio 2 once they have more samples available, but so far the Skydio 1 has been pretty awesome aside from a few drawbacks like size and low battery life, internal memory, etc.

hey Bobby! for a 6'2" 240 lb rider the XL might be a better choice just because you probably won't feel as cramped while you're riding it compared to the Fat Bear. That being said, the Fat Bear is pretty dope and i too prefer the full sus.

hey David! not sure what my sleeve shirt size is but i have longer than average arms and it does feel like a bit of a reach, but that might just be me. you can always adjust the handlebar height to help compensate for reach too. interested to hear how this fits for you so be sure to let us know once you get it!
hi Flynn! glad you dug it! i actually read through their comments as well and i think they thought the customer was asking about torque of the motor, as they replied with those specs... is that the comment you were taking about? it’s possible the production version will have a torque sensor but i highly doubt it
It's believed that the party who answer on the IGG the comment did not comprehend the specifics of the question. All bikes delivered for Testing have come with Cadence Sensors. The IGG Launch runs to January 6th 2020 for the discounted prices.
I am wondering about this too! I definitely want 750w, but not sure if the XL will be too large for me (5'9")? I actually asked their support email and got cryptic nonsense responses like pick the 750w under options (there is no option for 750w upgrades). ???
heya! thanks Imam Hossain Mihan! glad you dug it. this might be on the boarder of feeling too big, but with some adjusting you could probably make it work. i am 5'10" and it felt borderline too big for me. Rattan has some other folders we've reviewed that are a bit smaller, and those might be more up your alley. we haven't reviewed the Sondors Fold X yet so can't really speak to that.
hey Ozzie! tires are ok. don't believe these have puncture protective lining, so adding some slime would be a good idea... or if you are going to be going through areas with lots of branches, sharp rocks, etc., you might want to swap out these tires for something more rugged.
Brent. Greetings from Southern Cali. I just got my Yamee XL 750w. Has the same display as yours. How do you reset the trip meter? It just shows the same mileage as the total mileage. I can't find anywhere in the manual? Thanks bro.

just went back and checked the bike after reading your comment and you are totally right. i’m not sure if it was the stick protective plastic or like an actual screen protector but we took it off and it does look a lot cleaner. good eye!

Nice review, I bought a similar looking bike called the Eahora X6 and I’ve been meaning to do a video review of it. Eahora must be partnered with Rattan as my bike came shipped with a rattan logo on the box. The main difference seems to be some of the parts like my motor is 350w.
So far so good. I like the aesthetics of the bike as you pointed out the bike stands out with that huge beefy frame. Overall I like the bike and at flat terrain I can easily reach 28mph from pure eco mode. On uphills the bike struggles and I’m at 230lbs. I will get on the review soon as it warms up here.

Has anyone received a Rattan XL (or X) from the 1st batch shipped in December? I believe that was a relatively small batch (15 bikes?) but they should be in the domestic shipping phase. That said, the Indegogo web page has not had Rattan input for several weeks. It could be that the extended New Year shutdown due the the Coronavirus outbreak has completely shut Rattan down and everything including domestic shipping of the first batch is in limbo. Any info for people waiting on their bikes would be helpful. So Brent, if you have any contact at Rattan that you could ping, that would be nice ...

Probably mid June to get to me although one X model is going to my daughter in So Cal so she will get hers first. During the long wait, I saw and test rode this new monster ebike and could not resist (bikonit.com/). I'd be interested in your take on this rather large machine. It will be my daily rider with the Rattan will be my travel ebike. Think I've gone a little overboard on this as we'll have a total of 5 ebikes in the family soon.
my only constructive criticism, instead of havin drone and music playin while u ride, have a true pov angle and we hear the bike while u ride it. we can hear the bikes and u can tell us how it feels to u A U ARE riding it.. 😀

I searched the address from rattan bike on Google maps and there is just a company with the name iQA Metal. It's a melal recycling company. No Rattan bike headquarter. So I don't trust the indigogo campaign.

hmm. not sure about this. you could probably find an oem battery but can't say for 100% certain.

you can remove the display but that will leave the electronics inoperable. but ya if you want to swap it out or something you can definitely do that.

typical of this style of ebike, wire and cable routing is a mess and look derailleur guard is bent.
This was a preproduction bike. The cables are routed much nicer on the IGG bikes.
A lot of folders actually have internally routed wires!
