Pete your a legend for prioritizing the finals spot in this competition, but still carrying more about your having to be responsible for the elimination of your friend. Respect!
Congrats on making the finals pete I'm proud of you! On the other note trying to take out purple there was definitely the right move. Best of luck in the finals!
Congratulations Pete, even though it was bitter sweet. GG's Tyler & Jadon. On any given day any one of the five could have made top 3. Tough competition at the business end of the FFA.
This may have been fully different for Tyler had he slowrolled the zombie 4 turn 2, and gotten perfect dice. It looks like, even without fog, players weren't used to how zombies work. YOU did! You played this one perfectly for the given situation.
First Games starting troops: Zombies - 33 Black - 22 Blue - 20 White - 23 Pete/Red - 18 Purple - 23 Why do some players receive so much more than others?
I think it's because the Zombies randomly infect a territory from each player before the game begins. Some players only lost a territory with 1 army on it and the others lost something bigger. It's a lottery as far as we can tell on Auto set-up
But even then then those figures seem strange. You can work it out if you know the total number of territories on the map. Depending on that number the players going first and second may have a greater territory count than those playing last and that could put them over a threshold which awards a bonus troop. 12-15-18 but player #5 (not counting zombies) will receive a +5 bonus on their first turn whereas the first 3 players only get +3.
Congratulations Pete! I know it's hard to take someone out but you win some and you lose some. Just shows what a great sportsman you are to feel a bit guilty. Can't wait to see the finals!
Zombies would not be my top choice either. There is a common opinion that in order to be the best Risk player you have to be competent all all modes and styles.
@@TheKillPeteStrategy fair enough. it's just not what interests me in risk, i guess. to me, the interaction with other players is much more interesting than dealing with an AI that just spawns a ton of units. you know, the whole thing of trying to decide when to play aggressive and when to try to avoid provocation. there were a few great rounds in this tournament congratulations on your results!
just to make sure I'm understanding, once purple was eliminated the three humans left were all in the finals and the rest of the game was just for fun right?
Essentially yes. There might be a friendly competition among the players about who scored the most points overall but us three had advanced to the finals.
Does this risk implementation allow playing without dice? where it's a straight 1-to-1 trade for armies? That's what we used to play and it makes the game much less random and more strategic (imo)
@@TheKillPeteStrategy Sorry i mean what determines the win in the final? is it just a single game and whoever wins takes the tournament win? or best of 3 or smtn like that?
@@gustavengen6735 the winner of a 70% game is the winner of course and then everyone else ties for lowest. A complicated tie breaker that I do not understand is then applied to determine 2nd and 3rd place
Can someone explain to me why the beginning is so incredibly unbalanced? You have a player with 23 troops and 7 territories and then you have Peter with 18 troops and 6 territories. Also, it's pretty stupid how these gamemodes are like 90% luck. There's barely any skill involved at this point. Sure, there's still stuff to know and do (the remaining 10%), but the skill ceiling is incredibly low there. This has no place in a tournament.

I know it was. I did what I had to do to advance.
Thank you. I'm gonna play my best in the finals!

I completely agree.
All the semifinalists are true champions. Any of these guys would have been able to make finals.

"WHO LOST A 12 STACK" **I check the troop count** oh
Yeah I think I got a 7 infected.

Matthew had it right.
It looked like I lost a 7 stack on initial infection.

Thank you Sir. I need all the luck I can get.
I'm back studying for the round 1 of Risk World Championship hehe
Good luck!
not a fan of the zombie rounds tbh... feels like they get almost entirely decided by who gets randomly destroyed by dozens of zombies

It was indeed Fil.
Maybe we get you out for the next one!
@@TheKillPeteStrategy Maybe. With them back to back now I might have to chose one or the other...but we will see.
Where’s the Finals Video!?
Looks like you found it.
@@TheKillPeteStrategy haha yep the title format was different two I overlooked it
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
😍😍😍😍😍
wtf, how do zombies work? at 15:18, they go 13 on 5 and and lose a 98%.
43:39 why does blue not take the full continent in north there?
Is it who wins the finals or has most points after finals? I'm assuming winner wins all since u said 2nd and bounty doesn't matter
Advancement to the finals was the top 3 finishers in each semifinal game.

that 15 on 11 though. 83% fart
.
Didn't black have 5 cards, why could he not use them?
is the final game played yet?
Like 100 nice
Cheers!
Thanks for the vid! never thought I'd be watching someone play Risk :-D
Do you mind sharing your thoughts on that moveout at the end on blue?
He had already made the final. I think he just wanted the game to end.

I would agree that fixed zombies without fog are too lucky for a tournament.
It is a lucky game in its nature we do have to make our peace with that.
Playing zombies is fine but on such a small map... it’s just kind of lame
I think the real issue with these settings is the lack of fog
