Brasse here... Fading, you are so darn good at your job that you make me look credible and well-spoken. :D
All kidding aside, EQ and Sony Online Entertainment gave as much as it gained. Many of my longest friendships originated in these worlds, and they made me a better person. My finest career memories come from those long days and very, very late nights at FanFaire/SOE Live events, and 100% due to the incredible fans and my beloved colleagues. It shows that humans are better when working together and celebrating our joint accomplishments. I am deeply humbled by every moment, and grateful every day!
Here's hoping we can figure out a way to get together in 2024 (Vegas is still the most central and, on average, cheapest option for North America)!
I'm all in. :D
I can sense the change in me. I started playing EQ in 2000 when I was young, around 10. I have been off-and-on for the last 20 someodd years, mostly on emulated versions. But now I see Live EQ for what it is, another vast adventure to explore. It's not just about leveling and getting good gear anymore. Now it's about the journey. I think it might not just be me that's feeling it, either.
I agree with you, it is a journey. 😊
I started in EQ in 2000, moved on to EQ2 at beta.. I dont play often anymore, but Norrath will always be my home.. and Brasse has actually BEEN to my IRL home! LOL
Man, the intro still banging after all these years.
Need a Fan Faire in las Vegas for the 25th anniversary and have Richgirl's Casino open!
long live EQ, the greatest MMO of all time!
2 episodes in 1 week! Woot!
Thanks for the wonderful work, Fading!
This was really sweet. I was a little kid when my dad brought us to the Chicago Fan Faire -- I was like NUH UH NO WAY AW COOL FIRIONA IS REAL, WOW!
Best flippin show on UA-cam, thanks Fading! Much appreciated!
I would LOVE to attend these events again. I hope DBG is watching!
Only just found this channel recently and it's nice to see others still loving EQ after all these years. And I agree 25th anniversary needs to be... EPIC!
More great content Kitt/Fading!! Whether it be on a live server, TLP, P99, or other emu servers, I'll probably be playing EQ until I am not able to. I take breaks from playing, but always come back to Norrath.
Linda has ALWAYS been my fav person from EverQuest. I love Linda! I wish I was old enough to attend SoE Fan faire's/SoE Live's back in the day. I was still a wee lad when EQ and EQ2 needed a subscription to play
Save Bubbler! On my continuing campaign: My friend won a drawing at a Fan Faire prior to the launch of EQ2. He won an npc named after his EQ character. Unfortunately, with the Qeynos newb experience revamp, he was wiped from Castleview Hamlet. Join my campaign to have researcher Bubbler restored to the game. The 25th anniversary seems the perfect opportunity.
ah I miss the days of hanging out with Brasse and the rest of the staff at Fan Faire all those years ago .
What an absolutely charming lady! I'm envious of her ability to do a Scottish burr.
Seeing the all-encompassing joy of those in attendance at the Fan Faire brought a sense of longing to my heart. We need that sort of comradery to bring us together again. I never went to one of those gatherings back then, but I would now if it came about for the 25th Anniversary (and it was in Vegas which is easy to get to from my home in Oregon).
I never got to attend any Fan Faires, this is a great look at what I missed! =)
Madly impressed by this lady's costumes, dwarf impersonations, the stories she's told and the impressions this silly old game gave her that she kept dearly to heart. Absolute respect and kudos.
What a lovely comment! Thanks for watching and giving Brasse some love!
Awesome! Linda rocks!
Still have a treasure box full of Brasse's EQ maps that I've printed out over the years. So beautiful!
My son and me attended the 20th reunion in SD (waited in line/lol/and did the reunion quest in person at the event). WE BOTH WILL BE AT THE 25th! We have been playing together since 1999, and we now live in different states. Reunion time. We're hoping Fan Faire 25th happens!. EQ is still awesome!!! We'll be there. /wave /bow /dance.
I did a few Fan Faires, including the first one. Might need to go if they make one for the 25th anniversary....
Seeing those Fan Faire vids are such great memories. So many great people I recognize from the EQ2 community that attended!
Oh yeah! Great memories!
Same, there were so many faces that I remembered from the video and haven't seen for years since.
EQ2'sDay forever
Cory? From agnarr?
Fading, you're spoiling us with all these uploads so close together. I agree with you 100% about the 25 anniversary and the future of the game in your moment of clarity part. Great interview about Brasse and her commitment to EQ, it's folks like her that make EQ so great, Thanks again for the video Fading!!!
I was too young to do any of the fanfair at the height. I would love to see in person fan event, maybe meet some of my boys from AGNARR. Whooop
I would love to have attended the fan faire back in the day, but travel was just not a possibility. If another event ever happens, i would absolutely consider it.
Good stuff as always Fading, when we go a few months without a video I tend to feel less nostalgic about the franchise. Every time a new video is posted it makes me want to log into both games man.
LOVE EQ! Started in 2000. Been to many fan faires, was sad when they stopped doing fan faires, they were always tons of fun. Have not played in quite a few years but still think of the good times when i did. Made great friends in game. If there is a fan faire again i will definitely go and might just have to log in and catch up and play again.
'My stinky stein has rough dirty lips, but she loves a deep carouse. Beer or ale are her great trips. No matter how many vows I make or break, my drinking glass reminds me of my lovely Brasse.' LOL! I thought that name sounded familiar! I think you are right that it is time to bring back the Fan Faire! At least for 25 and 30, etc. It may even attract a whole new generation of players!
Thank you for all these videos! Great memories, good music too
I miss Linda! She's awesome!
Lets go EverQuest!!!!!!!
Definitely should be a 25th Anniversary Fan Faire! I'll see you all there if there is!
Amazing Fading -thank you - I was at at least 10 of the FF and was at the original ....all of them were SO much fun. I agree - bring it back for 25th anniversary. Here's hoping! xo
Been waiting (a year?) for this episode :) ORKFEST REPRESENT!!
Orkfest WILL be featured in an upcoming episode (likely for the 25th anniversary episode)
Glad I found this channel a few days ago. Like so many others, EQ played a huge role in my life. I've only recently come back after being gone for years, but it is nice to return to the community that started it all for me.
If there is a Fan Faire for year 25, I will attend.
Same here.
Me tooo!!! ❤❤❤
Local City event at a meet and greet at a local restaurant that can host about 150 people or so.
We went to one of the early Fan Faires, back in 2003, when things were still kind of poorly planned, but at least I got to meet Niami Denmother! We came home with t-shirts and the Bag of the Tinkerers backpack.
I was a beta tester for EQ and the last day of beta all the Gods came to Norrath and fought the players. It was a wild experience. I would love to see that again for the 25th anniversary. It is one of the stellar memories I have from EQ.
A 25th anniversary Fan Faire might be a hard sell to the wife, but I missed all of the others because I was too young. I will make the trip.
It's been 8 years since Brasse was laid off. She's still missed.
She is amazing and will always be a part of EverQuest
I hope they invest in making a new EverQuest bring more people to the game ❤❤❤❤
I'll be going .
Come on yall, SERVER, CLASS AND GUILD;
Tarew Marr server, lvl 60 Half Elf Paladin, Epillon. Numinous Guild!!
Fading (Tunare, Mangler, Oakwynd) Enchanter
Kitt (Agnarr, Mangler) Druid
I haven't played a TLP in two years, but I greatly enjoyed my last TLP experience. I think I would attend a fan fair if it ever happened. Running short on time to make it happen for march, but anything is better than nothing.
Maybe one day we will see Next.
i want to see a lot more merchandise that will make Everquest grow faster , lets see some more ads , how about everquest drops on twitch tv for both games
Awesome shes amazing
I'm a Quellious cosplayer
If the first fan fest was in Las Vegas In November 2000, why does it show St Louis in march 2000 wouldn’t that be first?
I really would love to see an EverQuest vr mmo or project
I loved my short time at SOE
That is me at 2:52 holding my rum n Coke!
The EQ 20th anniversary was really kind of let down, I'm not trying to be negative here, but I'm hoping for something radical for EQ 25th anniversary.
yyaayyy brasse :)
My wife and I attended SOE LIve and Fan Faire, five times. The best fan faire we attended was the first one. Each following event became more watered down until finally they stopped. The profits of the EQNext promise were through the roof. People were buying up to 6 passes to get first dibs on the game that was canceled because the Dev Lead determined that the game was not fun. Legends of Norrath was a pretty big hit with us too. We spent thousands only for the game to be shut down. Anyway, it would be nice to attend another Fan Faire / SOE Live. I'd bring family and friends this time but would prefer it not to be in Vegas again. (Five times, Vegas. Gaming events should hit both coastlines). .... /raises glass to the rumor of an EQ3.
If another Fan Faire was created, I would bring my family and a couple of others. With that being said, (now that Vegas has legalized the smokey-smokey), I hope that the 25th event will be somewhere that is child-safe.
I missed the first FF but went to 80% of the rest of them and had a blast...just saying. 😊
Brasse is an amazing person!
No she isn't. She is a far left radical that can " not " separate her radical political beliefs from her profession life. I remember what she did at Pantheon.
Well I hope I'm going to Vegas on March 16th.. looks like I need to make a pre luclin CCoM out of cardboard for a human .. again
I miss the days when this game first game out. Was a great time for mmos. I would even say wow was a good mmo, but once everyone started trying to copy wow the genre died.
I never made it to a Fan Faire but this is the most nostalgic feeling episode yet. 🤎Brasse! The times I was thinking of getting to FF I worried how I would deal with wearing dark elf body paint, I have never worn body paint & hate full face makeup feel lol, yeah that was my worry haha.
Y dont they just bring back landmark & everquest next & save them selfs years of work it was almost finished & dont try to lie & say it got canceled because it just wasn't fun i talk to the old devs it was ended because of the buyout & a greedy foolish CEO named (( ji ham )) that had no clue what he was doing he cant even tell u the difference between a RTS and a FPS 🤏🧠🤬🤡💩
