    Hey mate, don’t worry I failed my first attempt on CNAV a couple of days back. Got 69 percent ahh so close 😭 but don’t worry mate. Failing is just a part of learning. Everybody fails at some point and that’s what makes us better. Success cannot be achieved without failure at some point mate! Keep up the great work legend! You got this 💪

    Failing is just part of the journey, it shows us where we still need to improve as it’s great you’re seeing it as a learning opportunity.
    I’m just about to start my journey with ground school starting in a few weeks.

    The gut punch with CASA exams is that if you fail, it costs $180 to try again, which is unfair and a rip-off

    Don't worry Tom, you will pass next time!! I believe in you! 👍😃 Just relax, finish that ice cream, and get back into it with a fresh mind. Looking forward to the video on your other exam too. Best of luck! 📝

    Thanks for sharing I just failed my PPL-Navigation exam and my biggest mistake was to retake the day after.. which made me score even lower.. feeling a lot better after watching you video.

      Sorry to hear mate. Just reset. Take your time to Study all your KDR’s and even the areas you already passed. Make sure you’re not ROTE learning questions and try get some extra practice exams from Bob Tait online or Rob Avery just to test yourself against some fresh ones. And keep your head up, you’ll get there 🤙🏼

    Hey Tom! Is the CASA exam included in the CPL or ATPL license section just wanna know some details regarding about that. As well as are the piloting exams multiple choice based questions?

    • @tommy-hass
      @tommy-hass  2 роки тому

      Hi Uzman, both CPL and ATPL have 7 exams each. The cost is around $140-$160 per exam. Most course providers will include the first attempt at the CPL exams within the course fees but any further attempts you will need to pay for on top. Most exams are multiple choice but some are a mixture of both multiple choice and written answers. Don’t be fooled by the multiple choice though CASA are well known for being crafty and ambiguous.

      @@tommy-hass they word the questions in unintuitive ways, probably deliberately to confuse you into failing so you have to pay again

    great video again mate. Need to pass my RPL theory Pexo exam, about 5 hours away from booking in for my practical test. Was flying at Sydney Flight Training Bankstown, usually only fly VH-IJD. How i was preparing was only just doing Pilot Practice exams ( cheap $57 for 3 months ) and again just doing as many exams as possible without KNOWING the material or why something is the way it is
    I now now this is a very bad idea. New approach bought the RPL Bob Tait book and will read it cover to cover and then buy his 3 online exams at $55 before having a crack at CASA. I think this idea is much more WISE lol

    What you need to do Tom is move out of home, rent a 1 bed unit and don't come out until you have CPL theory pouring out of your ears, and no sugar before the exam, hahaha. Seriously though, Concentration and study as much as possible should get you there next time. An instructor i spoke to once told me that his wife would go through the theory books and ask him questions which he said really helped. I wonder though is 70% really enough for a pass ???

      @tommy-hass  2 роки тому

      😂 Not a bad idea. Thanks Spiro. I should be fine for the next time I just slipped out of my routine for this one. Great tip on the partner asking questions too. I’ll add that to the list 🤙🏼

    Hehe, is the PPL easy to pass both the check ride and written exams?

    • @tommy-hass
      @tommy-hass  Рік тому

      I wouldn’t say easy, but it’s not extremely hard either. You get out what you put in and if you put enough into your practical flying and study you’ll be fine. The PPL exam is less “in depth” on each subject but they are all mixed into one 3.5 hour exam. Where as the CPL exams are 7 individual exams which I prefer better. Even though they are of a higher knowledge requirement. Does that make sense? 😂

    hi mate i am very green only have a few hours, dont have a casa number yet and just got asked if i had done my medical, but my understanding is i cant get that medical until i have that number? have i wasted those hours?

    • @tommy-hass

      Hey Pete, you only need a medical by the time you go solo so I’m guessing all of your hours so far have been duel? If so you’re fine 🤙🏼

    Is the Re-attempt Exam the same as the one you failed?

    • @tommy-hass
      @tommy-hass  2 роки тому

      No, the questions will be different. They pull the 40 questions from a “bank” of questions.

    • @yonalabeykoon9653
      @yonalabeykoon9653 2 роки тому

      @@tommy-hass then why does CASA say "If you have failed an exam, you must re-train before re-attempting the failed exam"

    • @tommy-hass
      @tommy-hass  2 роки тому +1

      Because they assume you didn’t pass because of a knowledge deficiency. Which I’d say is a fairly good assumption 😂
