Đường Xưa Mây Trắng kể chuyện đời đức Phật Thích Ca qua con mắt của chú bé chăn trâu Svasti - sau xuất gia, trở thành một vị đệ tử của Phật. Thông qua những mẫu truyện ở từng chương, chúng ta sẽ rút ra được những bài học quý giá, thấm nhuần những chân lý mà Bụt đã truyền trao lại.
Đường xưa mây trắng bán được hơn 1 triệu bản tại bắc Mỹ và được dịch ra hơn 20 thứ tiếng, trong đó có tiếng Hindu.
Trong bối cảnh xã hội, người người, nhà nhà đua nhau làm giàu bằng mọi giá, mọi cách, các nấc thang giá trị đang bị đảo lộn. Giá trị đạo đức được đặt ở vị trí thứ yếu, thẩm chí còn bị xem nhẹ. Trong bối cảnh ấy, có lẽ tâm đạo, con đường hướng thiện và những giá trị nhân bản cần được nhìn nhận một cách đúng mức.
