1) How is the $800 paid? directly to IRS or during tax season?
2) if we do home address , can we use office space in home for tax filing?
$800 tax is to the California Franchise Tax Board not the IRS, it is a statewide tax.

What if I want sole prop. do I need to pay 800/year moving forward? I use market place so the tax are collected from ebay. thank you for helping and you explain well. 2nd Q: can I back date my business registration? I started in feb 2023 and didn't realized ebay will be sending me a 1099 for $600 or more. I only made less than $1000 (after fees) probably $400.
Hi! This video is about the costs for LLCs - a sole proprietorship does not pay the $800 LLC tax which only applies to limited liability companies (LLC). You will still need to have a business license, DBA, zoning clearance for a home business, and will need a sellers permit if you are selling anywhere else.

I'm confused on if you get a virtual office first or file the llc first? If you file the llc it ask for your address. When you try to create a virtual office, it ask you for your business name.
Check if your desired business name is available on the Secretary of states business lookup tool. If it is available, then get your virtual office making sure you get a package that allows you to register it as a business address. Then form your LLC using that name and address.

Hi, I started an LLC in Jan of 2023, is CA waiving the 2023 $800 fee? or do I need to pay that for 2023? My tax preparer did not mention that it was waived.
Yes the first year if formed in 2023 is waived due to the legislation that was passed back then

@@ginnysilver Quick question: I followed that process last year and sent in my "final" return for a closed C corp. When I check status through the FTB it shows "revived" and to generate a status letter it shows "account in good sanding" shouldn't it show it "closed" and under the generated letter "dissolved"? I moved to Texas and it does show my Texas address as that's what I gave them, but I'm just wondering if it takes a while to process the closure? Thanks again!

$800 annual LLC California state tax. It is currently waived the first year however this ends at the end of 2023. 2024 the first year is no longer waived.
What if I initiate the LLC before the end of the 2023 year? Will it be waived for the 2024 year or do I have to pay in April 2024?
