I can't believe no one has said R.E.M.'s "Losing My Religion". One of the biggest and best songs of the 90s
i LOVE them & that song! aside from that, my very favorite of theirs is "imitation of life". that is one of those songs that will immediately make tears start streaming down my face. i was fortunate to see them once at an open venue in a torrential downpour. somehow it made the entire experience even better. 🖤✨

This is what I love about Twenty One Pilots, they sing about real things and tough topics like depression, suffocating from your insecurities, not being ok with yourself. It’s not always depressing and some of their songs are hype. It seems like every other song today is about girl/boyfriends, partying, drugs and drinking. It’s a nice change listening to them.
McKenna Hight one of my fav songs from them is “Not Today”. Talking about how happy the song is but it’s really about depression and someone helping you get out of that funk. It doesn’t go away, it’s almost like a familiar monster that’s always there. Hope that makes sense.
The best Twenty One Pilots rap video is "Car Radio." Pretty much all their songs and videos are melancholy like that. The musical genius is the singer/songwriter who also plays keyboards, bass, and ukulele, ( not electric guitar). The drummer keeps it real and seems to represent the common man, the common fan. It really takes both of them to have the right chemistry, the singer has tried to go solo a few times and it's not as cool without his rocking drummer. That was not a giant neck tattoo, just make up, he never really explained what it represents, kind of looks like a turtleneck or part of camouflage. The band is very family oriented. Those are their actual family members in this video, brothers and sisters and moms and dads, maybe even grandparents.

The black makeup on Tyler’s hands and neck symbolizes his insecurities in relation to his art. The neck represent his vocal ability and his hands are for playing instruments and song writing.

This song made me cry when it came out. So true. A friend of mine had passed suddenly from a drug overdose and this song was playing when I found out so now I connect it to the tragedy of a difficult life against the memory of an innocent happy childhood.

Twenty One Pilots!! My favorite band of all time. I usually love bands from the late 60s to 70s, but these guys are insane. The lead singer writes all their songs, produces everything, plays multi instruments, sings like an angel, and can even rap. They’re not a Christian band but their faith plays a big role in their message and you don’t hear trash in their music. Every song has a deep meaning. People hear their radio hits and judge them but dang, they’re so good. I’m 42 and their shows were the best of my life. Period. I will be going back.
