Jokic broke NBA media. He exposed them as uninformed, lazy, and prisoners of the narrative. The ESPN layoffs are part of it. ESPN saw that their full line up of dozens of “pundits” (pronounced PUN-dit, just one N) all had bad takes on Jokic. Ironically the one player that was an early Jokic advocate was Jalen Rose.
Jalen Rose was on Denver/Jokic fan bandwagon before it was a thing! Heck, he basically created the stretch mark five fan phrase before he won his first MVP. Shaq and Charles were also pointing out his game IQ as early as 2017.
I think everybody should give each other a pass on this. Why? It's what Nikola would want. He's broken the mold. He doesn't look like a star. He's a reluctant superstar. This had to happen for him to get respect. Now, he'd like us to change the subject. He's already forgotten about it, so should we. Let's look for the next unconventional superstar, and let the next Jeremy Lin stay longer in the league next time.
JJ Reddick was a pretty early supporter too, being an analytics guy. From JJ I heard that the most dangerous play over the last 10 years in basketball based on analytics is a Nicola Jokic post-up.
Embiid didn't outplay jokic in that game last year. Embiid shot up his usage while jokic just treated it like a normal game. Jokics power is that he really doesn't care what other people think about him.
Yeah, also keep in mind, the first half where it was 1v1, jokic was killing Embiid, they slowed jokic by moving pj tucker onto jokic and doubling or triple teaming jokic, where the nuggets didn’t bother to make the adjustment with embiid.
That is who embiid is. Threw his own team under the bus! Got his coaches fired. Always blames his teammates. Jokic makes his teammates better. Brown just went from $6.5M to $23M/year. ThT is what playing with Joker for 1 season can do.

Kendrick Perkins is a CLOWN. He can't get his mind around a player like NIKOLA JOKIC who plays unselfishly. NIKOLA has said, "When a person makes (a) point one person is happy. When a person gets an assist then two people are happy."
Perkins exposed himself as a race hustler. His opinion that the 3 players who became mvp without being scoring leaders where white was such a lazy take, but it was enough to give the MVP vote to Embiid instead Jokic. If Jokic won the 2023 MVP award, he would join Wilt Chamberlain, Larry Bird, and Bill Russell as the only players to win it 3x in a row. An elite pantheon. Perkins couldnt handle that
Jokic has clowned these people. What he has exposed is that these people haven’t watched Jokic play. No excuses. They failed the eye test, they didn’t watch. And they failed the brain test; they simply do not understand basketball as Jokic plays it.
The fact that ESPN didn't kick out Perk or Mark Jackson after letting go of Stan Van Gundy and Max Kellerman, espeically regarding Perks comments against Jok, is a travesty.

It’s pretty unbelievable the slander Jokic was getting for 2021 and 2022 in the playoffs. Beating a solid blazers team with a blistering Dame and then getting sweep by a team that went to the finals. Jokic was unbelievable that series including a 30/20/10 game. Deandre Ayton was getting praised because he held Jokic to 25/14/6 And in 2022 no MPJ or Murray he loses to the eventual champion. While I agree with you in general, Jokic definitely deserved the Award this season, but Embiid is a pretty decent 3-point shooter. You don't average 33+ in the NBA is all you can do is dunk. He also shoots .857 from the FF line, which is phenomenal for a big man (and better than Jokic). Embiid is an all-around great player. He just isn't as great as the Joker.
@@11fasteddie Agreed 100%. The Joker was the MVP this season, not Embiid. Embiid is holding the trophy, but he didn't earn the damn thing. And it isn't particularly close. At 5:51 I heard that one dude say "there is nothing Jokic does that Embiid can't do". WTF? How about being the greatest passer the game of basketball has ever seen?
My first basketball hero was Julius Erving. He did things nobody else could do. Then Larry Bird and Michael Jordan did things that nobody else did. Now Jokic does things nobody else does. That is why I watch the NBA.
It doesn't matter who Nikola Jokić played against he got the job done. The great thing about him is he didn't give two "bleeps" about what the nay-sayers said about him. He just went out and did what he did. Not only is Nikola Jokić have the highest basketball IQ since Larry Bird but he does everything else Bird did too. It's this versatility that makes him the best player on the court now. Winning the title solidified this! Great video, by the way! EXTREMELY well done!!! A TOTAL "thumbs up!!!"
Thank you for the comment. I agree with you that one of the greatest strengths Jokic has is not listening to the noise around him both in the negative and in the positive sense but this year I do thinks that especially the Perkins comments got to him because for the first time he responded to the stat padding quote and coach Malone also mentioned that the toxicity surrounding the MVP got to him this year.
I never realize how good Jokic is rebounding the ball. I did learn a lesson from him. He can predict where the ball is going when it missed so he can grab it like Dennis Rodman who had an ability to know and read where the ball is coming because my opinion is that he must study the bouncing and ricocheting of a ball a lot so he can figure it out.
OMG I adore You for this compilation 😂 Many "experts" talking about basketball and we all can see how much they "know" about the game 🤦 Most of them, like Kendrick Mr Racist Perkins, S.A.S., this woman & Nick Wrong are just stripped of understanding his game & how ONE MAN can affect the whole game, no matter sho's opponent! But, hey - they are payed for this bull**it they talking 🤷♂
I'm laughing so hard, this is too funny... I mean look at all of these clowns LOL. I remember them hating on him, and on the same night Jokic drops 45/15/12 on 65+%FG or something like that, and ofcourse grabs an easy win for Nuggets. They can talk whatever they want, they won't stop him of being by far the best NBA player in the league.
To put it in context Jokers top 10 postseason games this year , are better than Kobe’s top 10 postseason games for his whole career....let that sink in.
It is true what you said about Embiid at the end. I personally think Jokic deserved the MVP more, but I have no trouble with Embiid winning it, or with anyone who voted for him. I only have problem with voters who thought Jokic had a better regular season than Embiid, but they voted for Embiid so that Jokic wouldn't win 3 straight. That is just stupid. Embiid is a great player and I envisage success for him down the line.
People don't seem to remember that MVP can mean multiple things. The term MVP is short for "most valuable player". And that value that generates the adjective "valuable", can actually mean many things. Check this out: Most VALUABLE player can refer to the person who makes the absolute most difference in their team's performance with them on, respectively off the court. The player who makes the biggest difference with their presence - or lack thereof - is the most VALUABLE player of the league. Most VALUABLE player can also refer to the person who has the absolute most expensive contract in the NBA - hence the most VALUABLE player. Last but not the least, the most VALUABLE player in the NBA can refer to the person who generates most revenue for the NBA. Or the player that actually delivers most minutes on the court measured in stuff like, contract cost per minute of the court - thereby generating value for money. Its a fun thing, as we don't get a real metric and definition from all these clowns as to what is regarded as MVP, as they sometimes say its ONLY performance during regular season, but then in the same sentence be like "he good but he never won no rings, he never got to finals". Bitch whatchu on, didn't you say only regular season counts? Also, fuck Clowndrick Jerkins and his pathetic excuse for an opinion.
It really is amazing the vast number of casuals who get paid to be incredibly wrong about basketball over and over. At least ESPN fired some of them recently.
Arguing about jokers match Ups being weak.... How disrespectful towards lebron, AD, KD, BOOKER and bam adebayo.... Joker scored in ridiculous ways VS all of them... So this was the ultimate playoff run by a single player ever. Most Points, most rebounds and most assist in the playoffs. No one has ever done it. Most Triple doubles ever in a single playoff season. Together with murray, first duo to have a 30 point triple double each in the same game. JUST EPIC. and one thing those so called experts should learn... Advanced analytics are there for a reason... To express the dominance of a player without having to watch his game. And if someone is number one in 80 percent of those categories, you just know this guy is a beast.
Even after winning the championship as a nuggets fan I never hated on Embiid winning a mvp, actions speak louder than words if any one got anything to say about jokic my response will be kiss his ring and finals mvp 😘
Jokic by the way was tied for tenth in scoring the year he wasn’t top 10 in scoring. Great research perk. Also when has Embiid ever been successful in the postseason.
If Jokić isn't attractive to you visually than you either know nothing about this sport or you simply do not like basketball. Jokić plays probably the most beautiful and attractive game - if not of all time, than certainly of our time.
I don’t watch espn but this was actually funny 😂 these fools obviously just don’t watch jokic play and they talk shit about his stats and how he didn’t perform in the playoffs. Look at his numbers before this finals run. He was still insane in the playoffs. Like he almost averaged a 30 point TD against GS last year I think. Basketball is a team sport
At least I know that I can not watch basketball for over 2 whole years and still know more about the sport than Kendrick Perkins, Stephen A Smith and Skip Bayless.

these people that say advanced stats don't translate to winning basketball. have they ever even looked at the all time leaders for some of the advanced stats they speak of? do they think all time greats like michael jordan, lebron james, wilt chamberlain, stephen curry and magic johnson being at the top of those lists is some coincidence?
I think on the offensive side of the ball, even though his scoring numbers are lower than many other superstars, Jokic is the best player in the league because he knows how to facilitate the offense and get the most out of every play better than anyone else. He is a bit weaker on defense, and that’s where guys like Embiid, Giannis, AD could have an edge over him. But looking at him in the playoffs, the triple doubles aren’t stat padding, that’s just how he plays the game.
Its so funny how they always bring up the fact that Jokic cant defend. First of all, he holds his own on the defensive end and secondly, the nuggets aren't gunna lose a game if they're out scoring the other team due to Jokic's offensive output lmao

@@Lothien32 You are right. My mistake. Joker was .383 from 3, Embiid was .330.
It’s hard not to hate on Embiid because he had slandered Jok multiple times in the media….
this is a great video :) Love the ending.
Imbiid became the “UN-MVP” in the post-season.
This just shows what we already knew about a ton of these media “analysts”. They don’t watch the damn games. They just come on and spout whatever nonsense gets them played.
infotainement. Try to just tell people what they think they would like to hear.
At 5:51 I heard that one dude say "there is nothing Jokic does that Embiid can't do". WTF? How about being the greatest passer the game of basketball has ever seen?
I love this compilation!! lmao these are the receipts!!!
This is amazing
My first basketball hero was Julius Erving. He did things nobody else could do. Then Larry Bird and Michael Jordan did things that nobody else did. Now Jokic does things nobody else does. That is why I watch the NBA.
You missed Steph Curry, he does things no one else can do and revolutionised the game and inspired this generation
Well said. I thought the same way about Dr. J. and Jokic.
Yessir , Steph and Magic also imo.
Jokic is one of one,one of five and greatest team basketball player in the world ever.Period. You may agree or not but there it is.
This was hard to watch....fuckn haters
Shannon and Legler were on point, they knew what heights Jokic can reach and didnt jump on the bandwagon.
Yessir, he has a feel for it plus he boxes out and he's big and strong and long. He also has that rodman tipping ability like u said.
This aged well. Jokic has multiple mortgages on AD
OMG I adore You for this compilation 😂 Many "experts" talking about basketball and we all can see how much they "know" about the game 🤦
Most of them, like Kendrick Mr Racist Perkins, S.A.S., this woman & Nick Wrong are just stripped of understanding his game & how ONE MAN can affect the whole game, no matter sho's opponent!
No he's not. You're unintelligent
This is it! this is the video I’ve been looking for!
Keyshawn was fired.
People don't seem to remember that MVP can mean multiple things. The term MVP is short for "most valuable player". And that value that generates the adjective "valuable", can actually mean many things. Check this out:
Most VALUABLE player can refer to the person who makes the absolute most difference in their team's performance with them on, respectively off the court.
Kuroko no basket: the 5th invisible pass-genius player no one wants to remember
Great compilation of hot takes from talking heads
It really is amazing the vast number of casuals who get paid to be incredibly wrong about basketball over and over. At least ESPN fired some of them recently.
WOW. Loved the video. I started to watch your other videos. Keep comming with the bangers. 💪
Thx for this Video, well done
they all must be sued for bad comments about players
Why do they keep comparing embiid’s post season success to joker. Embiid has never been to ECF while joker has twice in last 5 years
Arguing about jokers match Ups being weak....
Yessir
JOKIC DONT HAVE OPONENTS YEA HE PLAYED AGAINST AIR
Jokic by the way was tied for tenth in scoring the year he wasn’t top 10 in scoring. Great research perk. Also when has Embiid ever been successful in the postseason.
If Jokić isn't attractive to you visually than you either know nothing about this sport or you simply do not like basketball. Jokić plays probably the most beautiful and attractive game - if not of all time, than certainly of our time.
im so glad my nuggets won it all this year, we got to shut all the clowns mouths
Jocic was 8-2 in games he took eight shots or less
I don’t watch espn but this was actually funny 😂 these fools obviously just don’t watch jokic play and they talk shit about his stats and how he didn’t perform in the playoffs. Look at his numbers before this finals run. He was still insane in the playoffs. Like he almost averaged a 30 point TD against GS last year I think. Basketball is a team sport
stephen a's face while perk was talking nonsense in the beginning was priceless. he like "perk, what is your point?"
He was like this mofo is going full retard and he is doubling down🤣
At least I know that I can not watch basketball for over 2 whole years and still know more about the sport than Kendrick Perkins, Stephen A Smith and Skip Bayless.
These are all amazing basketball analysts.
Analytics guys had it right all along. Numbers don't lie Brou.
if an american guy goes to Korea and beats every korean ping pong player, some people go crazy.
if a brazilian guy gos to Italy and makes pizza better than italians, some people go crazy... it's the "you can't play with my toy" sindrome XD
This take at 6:00 is absolutely abysmal considering that at that point in time, Jokic has made it to a CF while embiid still choking early playoff series into an exit. Playoff success lol. Love watching these take age like rotten milk.
this is what nikola is talking about when saying that he hates his job.... the media part
I wonder if any of these guys and girls ever will apologized to Joke.
And i'am not a Denver fan...
Embiid has proven himself as completely overrated
WE WANT MO OF THE JOKER CARD MVP GOAT NOW ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
"Jokic doesn't have a post game."
Stephen A. should've been among those that got the axe for saying something so god damn dumb
"But we can see with our eyeballs now"
What were they doing before with their eyeballs?
17:36 the heck? So, Rudy gobert DPOY's are fake? 😂
Thank you.
The last sentence written on the screen of this video is so true. Ufortunately it is not just "some", but "many". So sad. Their hate will devour all of us one day. And it will be pretty soon. Climate is not our worst enemy. It's people. Evil people.
these people that say advanced stats don't translate to winning basketball. have they ever even looked at the all time leaders for some of the advanced stats they speak of? do they think all time greats like michael jordan, lebron james, wilt chamberlain, stephen curry and magic johnson being at the top of those lists is some coincidence?
I think on the offensive side of the ball, even though his scoring numbers are lower than many other superstars, Jokic is the best player in the league because he knows how to facilitate the offense and get the most out of every play better than anyone else. He is a bit weaker on defense, and that’s where guys like Embiid, Giannis, AD could have an edge over him. But looking at him in the playoffs, the triple doubles aren’t stat padding, that’s just how he plays the game.
SAS & that dumb "football" guy glazing on AD and then Jokic cooked him 😂
Jokic ' taking revenge against the entire league for not drafting him in the first round and for making him the last pick in the All Star game.
These guy are worse then the weather guy. Not one has come out and just say "I was wrong and have never been more wrong" thats where it starts guys.
Like Novak Djokovic, its never enough
Its so funny how they always bring up the fact that Jokic cant defend. First of all, he holds his own on the defensive end and secondly, the nuggets aren't gunna lose a game if they're out scoring the other team due to Jokic's offensive output lmao
Nikola is the 8th best defender in the NBA by Game Score. He's at 3.8 D Game Score. Embiid is 7th with 3.9 D Game Score.
These guys have “Euro Derangement Syndrome”
Haters will hate, then after he showed what he can do in the playoffs, now he is Great.
It was beautiful to see how they all changed this year🤣they were forced to, to be more clear
Max Kellerman 😂
