This cinematic is heavily inspired by one of my favorite Historical films, Dunkirk. The Germans are overwhelmed by Cretan Villagers and allied forces which took them by surprised during the large scale airborne attack on the first day. I wanted to showcase the beginning and aftermath of the costly victory for the Germans perspective with a hint of suspense. Here is an honorable cast credit who briefly helped out with this cinematic! Broken Arrow ua-cam.com/channels/SqJozUKltMnDYv8HpuV4sQ.html
By the way I was also thinking of an idea like in the video you sent I saw Germans executing prisoners I was thinking like it would be like that but the allies would save some of them and they could just go on like something else
@Anti-Thot Officer Johnson Yep, though it’s slowly beginning to transition from BFV to 2042. Though with the introduction of BF Portal I’d imagine it will stay alive a bit longer
Another masterpiece from Qwark007 . Crete was a very close win for the Germans . The British knowing of the attacks made the paratroopers pay with blood . Many German paratrooper companies were wiped out before they could even get there weapons . The commander even considered abandoning the operation . It was only due to British leadership incompetence for not letting the reserves finish off the paratroopers that the survivors were able to gain their objectives on the second day . again great cinematic Qwark 👍👍
The Crete people could hold the Germans not the brittish. The brittish left greece at the battle of Crete. The only ones who stayed were the australians
I new it was inspired buy Dunkirk when you switched between Pilot and infantry and then the end I was like "Oh I see what your doing here". Brilliant cinematic.
I find this to be one of the most impressive operations of the war these paratroopers landing unarmed and having to find weapons and outnumbered still managed to to take Crete although talking catastrophic casualties
I was going to originally use that song in the process of making the cinematic, I definitely changed my mind when I wanted to make an interpretation of the film, Dunkirk. :)
This is a masterpiece, but specially the bit with them being shot at and running through the archway, reminded me of the opening of Dunkirk as you stated, fantastic
@@Astronomical_Cinematics Well, during the later stages of the invasion of Crete, Squadrons of BF-109's were sent to help escort the drop-planes. British fighters had been harrying the fallschirmjaeger transports. Aerial combat was not on a large scale. Only small dogfights and skirmishes. Most records gloss over this detail. So I think it's a nice nod to the air combat during the invasion.

@@Astronomical_Cinematics Oh that's awesome! Can't wait! You know, I wanted to ask. The intro of the American soldiers in the trench with the Panzer 4 advancing upon their position firing at them.
