We are still not perfect enough (though we try hard to be) and made a terrible mistake in the credits inside the video. The bassist in this performance is Mike Pope.
I can't stop listening to this live version of "Ava's Dance In The Moonlight". So much of Al's music is built around his guitar riffs, but in this piece his playing compliments the beautiful melody. He plays tastefully and with fire but it is the melody that stays in the heart.
When i first saw RTF in 74 Al was 18 or 19 & his personality seemed rather stiff & very serious but these days, he's a joy to still watch & listen to plus his sense of humor is where it should be & he's having fun while still playing these insane runs and fine music. Still one of the guitar worlds greats. After watching his interview with Rick Beato he's way more laid back & one smart guy besides his awesome skills. When he puts a band together it's always this good.
So glad to see Al playing again after his recent health scare . Meet him on several occasions after shows to have CD signed (new & old..) or just to chat with & always a pleasure! Great when able to catch him when he plays at a small venue.
Fantastic picture and sound! Hopefully the whole show was filmed and the rest gets posted. Al is in fine form and his band is tight, I'm so impressed to see him playing as skillfully and as effortlessly as ever after 50 years
Flight over Rio is one of my first experiences of Al Di Meola, many years ago. Still one of my favorites😍 Avas dance is soooo beautiful, reminds me of good ol Steve Hackets Genesis. These musicians................Lost for words.
Al de mola your guitar skills are the best in Mexico 🇲🇽 Spain 🇪🇸 and all a round the world keep the music 🎶 flowing and alive for the fans ❤ and people be careful con est virus okay 👌

EXQUISITO COMO SIEMPRE!
Everyone sounds great, but holy cow that guitar tone is amazing.
Rick Beato did a great interview with Al
Gonna go broke with hair dye bills. Lmao. Great tone here. Inspiring again.
Superbe interprétation de guitare emblématique de haute voltige ✋️ 😅
How old is he?? His look got never changed!
Just amazing! - wonderful - thank you.
This is great MUSIC!!!
Great post!! ❤ Thank you! I saw Al Di Meola following the release of 'Casino' (1978), & again after the release of 'Consequence of Chaos'. 👍🍻🎶

The pride of Bergenfield NJ!!
Gumbi!! An inspiration!!! Boundless energy! Deep knowledge! Hands of gold but hard as iron!! Fun to watch even better to listen.
Awesome guitar he's playing! He makes the music speak to the audience. So cool!

Good music!
I prefer the clean guitar sound of Steve Howe. Big Gibson L5 semi- acoustic jazz guitar.
Love AL !!!!!
Thx so much for posting and for the amazing memory...i've been there and it was mindblowing!!!!
Totally cool

Do i hear a bit of a Santana tone/vibe?
Why the PRS in the thumbnail? Clickbait gets "do not recommend channel"
One thing I like about playing jazz, no one can tell when you make a mistake
Super session, really great👍 Thanks for share.
Every time I hear this guitar its the soul of Chick Corea
Perfection is a false perception.

Dimeola at his greatest.
Shirt looks 😍😍😍😍on Al.
Wow! Marvellous!! Always giving it your all!!!
Absolute fan of Al Di Meola and Philippe Saisse! Great to see them together!
Can’t miss that unmistakable gorgeous tone when he plays electric! I have tickets to see him at Jazz Alley in Seattle in Oct. can’t wait.
Awesome!!! Thanks for sharing this with all of us!!!
Al is a all timer. Just let it rip!!....I love him in GO.
It seems that AL DI MEOLA has came back to his origin.

As usually in case of DiMeola: highest quality guaranteed.
Flight Over Rio starting riff is legendary and so powerful!
Thank you thank you for sharing this
You’re so welcome 😎
@@VictorVoytovDi Meola one great musician. The origin Italy 👌👌💪💪
The original numbers played original! Fantastic virtuoso! ♨️♨️
Keyboards too loud in molto vivace mode, like drowning out Al's part
Et et plus parmi les plus belles partitions d'Al Di Meola.
☆🫵"AL"🤙("Les Paul").☆
Fantastic
Quel prodige.
Tout est à la perfection. à la note près. Le ryhme, les temps, les musiciens ...
Incroyable.
Amazing Al and band woooooooooooooow!!!!!!
Got the full show, or is this it? Very nice quality regardless
@@Sunny-yg2pq that is something Al was ready to share at that moment. And we are deeply grateful for that 😎
So good man!!!
Literally *the* souped up Les Paul he used with Return to Forwver and his early solo albums
Return to Return to Forever without Chick ...

Le Lucky Luke de la guitare alors!!! 👍👍👍🤣
Awesome with Phillipe there !
Get the bass player's name RIGHT. It's MIKE POPE. He deserves better than that,. Great bassist.
That kicked @## ☕🎸
That looks like Mike Pope on bass…
Indeed
YESSIR!!!!
超絶早引きのディメオラ。
Only him, nobody else if the musicians matters for the camera or else.
Il fait du Santana maintenant 😂😂😂
If santana plays jazz.
Very similar tone
Santana couldn't wipe Al's balls sweat if he tried.
@@chrisl2466 Of course, but i think the same spirit 's here.
@@chrisl2466Both guitarists are great and were pioneers of their styles. No need to insult anyone.
Couldn't agree more w the 'Santana' analog!!! 💓

😂.
What a wonderful wig.
Transparent screens because of Corona ?
Probably to help sound wise with stage volume/instrument separation.
Not a fan of that guitar sound.
Agreed. Al usually has better tone.
Nothing wrong with that sound!
Agree its not easy understand Al Dimeola
You don't understand the Genre of the Spanish Guitar. Once you feel it.... It got you. Flamenco Fire.
It is kind of dry, however imo it leaves breathing room for the other players.
Also imho, Di Meola always sounds great.
Na ja.. der alte miola halt..
Genau, ich hab da mal meine alte Aldi CD wieder raus geholt. Immer wieder cool.
И эта разве музыка? Херню какую то исполняет непонятную на гитаре

Слишком сложный примитив..
Bad.
He very struggle and out of tune....band is fantastic (rythm section and bass)
Bad solos of Di Meola…
lol
SOUNDS LIKE A CHEAP SANTANA WANNABE BAND SORRY
Very complicated music, sometimes it sounded even senseless.
