I install and build some enclosures. Here and there. I decided I wanted to try a budget bass system. I have 6 of the hifonics 12's on a taramps 3k. In a 9 cubic ft. Enclosure. Tuned to 35hz. For what it is. It Slams. And I push the hell out of it. It's been just fine for months now. Hard to beat for the price. The biggest issue I have with them. The plastic caps over the magnet. Will need to be glued down. They will rattle like hell. And the spade connections suck! Lol
Yooo! I did a battle with this sub and a massive tko in taramps 3k. And they both didn't blow. It's crazy how much they actually took! It's actually on my channel, if you wanna see it. But it held up great! 😅
(Just getting back into car audio). I purchased 2 of these, because of it being a budget sub, my family 1st. I first set them in an old pre-fab pushed by an old Pioneer gm-x962. They did alright, not quite as low as I’d hoped…however, I built a dual 1.5 cu. ft. that was slot ported enclosure, tuned to 34 hertz. They now hit much harder, lower, and definitely louder. I was so impressed by its performance, I purchased 2 more last week, will build another enclosure just like this one. Purchased a new amp from Skar(1200) and will let y’all know the results.

Got all 4 installed The enclosures are tuned to 34hrz. I purchased a Skar 1200d They sound really good. A lot of bass. No issues during break-in so far. They aren’t gonna win me any SPL competitions right now, not with just a 1200 watt Amp, but I am very pleased thus far. Only thing I can say, I wish I had 2 more and another amp. But doing that, I’ll have to do a lot of upgrades on my electrical. #Budgetbassbaby!
That's awesome bro! And yeah if you go over 2000 watts. You need to get a secondary battery. But as of right now. I bet you could pull some decibels off what you already have. Thanks for keeping me updated. Appreciate that! 👍💯
I'm putting together a budget build with 8 of these wired to one ohm on a skar 2000 watt amp a bit under powered but not wanting to blow them up either. Did a four sub system and was very impressed and was very loud don't let the cheap price fool you. You will hear mine blew up after a week, that's because you way over power them. Find the sweet spot dummy!!
It's not good for low bass. I wouldn't recommend it for crazy bass drops. But its good, if you want some bass in your ride and as far as the frequency. I can't remember on that!
They do. Like you said I don't care if they blow because I started with 8 and 2 left the first night of playing. Considering that they had way too much power for them
@@ineedbass1 just starting out. Looking to get two 12’s. I want to start with lower power subs because I am new so I don’t want expensive stuff in case I mess them up cranking Eazy E lol. Budget $40-$75. I used Terminator sub as reference cause I think they are decent just want something a little more deeper. So far I have been looking at Recoil 12, NVX entry level, or Machete Lite. I have a Seismic 1500 amp that I got really cheap that when I heard it hook up was decent. Sorry for long reply.

Had a set of those Hifonics back in 2014, they lasted with a weak amp once I changed it they blew but great subs for the price.

I did a torture test not long ago and this subwoofer didn't blow or the other subwoofer I had going against it. It was ridiculous lol

I have 6 of them playing down to 25 hz in a blow through. They are great for the price. But don't try to over power them

Most definitely not! The terminator would destroy this subwoofer in a lows competition. 😅
