Orchard's Interview with Minister Roderick O'Gorman

On day 3 of the National Ploughing Championships, team member Kerry met with Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth.
Kerry highlighted the fantastic work that Foster Carers do and that there is a shortage of Foster Carers across Ireland with a need for more people to open up their hearts and homes to provide a safe space for children to live.
Minister O'Gorman spoke about the importance of Foster Carers, naming that 91% of children in the Irish care system are in Foster Care.
Kerry also highlighted that the Foster Care Allowance has not increased in 14 years and that this is something that Orchard Fostering have been lobbying for in recent years and it was asked if this will be addressed in the upcoming budget.
