Really sweet little video. I live just across the harbour from Cobh in a village called Crosshaven. You could have walked to the train station in Cobh and taken the short and interesting journey to Cork city centre, but I actually think it great that you spent your time in Cobh, which is one of our most under appreciated little towns. I'm sure others have pointed this out, but the Titanic never actually came into the inner harbour ... she anchored outside off of Myrtleville, but passengers and cargo were ferrried out via special purpose built boats. Best wishes, and enjoy your journey ... slån
Haha so weird to see so many people gush over where I live. I’ve grown up in Cobh so it’s mad seeing this from a tourist’s perspective! None of us understand the awe in the deck of cards lol, every tourist who comes by adores it. Hope you enjoyed visiting!
So glad that you liked Ireland, and now you’ve got a really good excuse to come back so that you can see it together! I’m British and live in the UK but have family that have a pub in Ireland and there is nothing like a pint of Guinness in an Irish pub!
Beautiful city, was there last September , and it was a gorgeous day also. My friends grandfather actually help build the cathedral. Ireland is the best , everyone should visit it at least once
@Cheryl Winkleman:My great grandfathers were stone masons. They came from Limerick and Kerry to build the cathedral spire. They settled in Cobh and most of us still live here.
So happy to see you visit Cobh!!! I’m from Cork city and have spent many happy days in Cobh!!! When you come back, you’ll have to try a pint of Murphys Stout and Beamish Stout which are the Cork version of Guinness (and any Corkonian will tell you they are much nicer 😉)!!! I’m so glad you enjoyed your visit to my part of the world! 😁😁😁
Well done Jason on saying Cobh correctly. I live in Dublin but have never visited Cobh - you're putting me to shame. Glad you enjoyed your pint of Guinness and an Irish sing song. Poor Alyssa missing out.
Your videos are so well put together. Love your use of original audio from the cathedral & previously in Westminster Abbey that you’ve overlayed over those sections of the video
We were so excited when we got up one morning and saw the town. So cute and unexpected. At the time I hadn’t discovered that my ancestors were from Cork.
Glad you enjoyed Cobh. I love going there. Next time you're over here you'll have to visit spike island. That's a most of a day thing though......only time after for pints and good food! You should come back and hire a camper and tour ireland. I'll even show you around a few good places!!! 😎😁
Great vlog. Although I’m English, my grandmother (on my father’s side) came from Cobh. Her family owned a pub called the first and last as it was the first pub you came to when arriving in Cobh and the last as you left. My great grandfather was the customs officer and was known as the band master.
Cobh is beautiful! I was there many years ago as a teenager. such a pretty church. you should get back to Ireland and explore the whole country in an Irish Ellie
No Irish accent Jason. That's where I am part from. Some family had been on the T-T . Like to go to Ireland to visit part of my past. Still doing renovations, but now upstairs bad leek and now my bathroom is falling apart. Will be glad to sell. Includes all furniture and large 70 inch tv and just got a new air conditioner. Have a great day. Cheers.!
You did a great job with the pronunciations in the end! In Irish BH is always pronounced as V, so anytime you see that in future you'll know what to expect!
Cobh is not also known as Queenstown. The British named it that when Queen Victoria landed there. Once Ireland got its independence the name reverted to Cobh.
@@EECCTravels No issue with you not seeing Ireland, i'm not from Ireland.. But lets not pretend you really always wanted to see Ireland. Come on now. Keep it real.
Alisa I hate you missed Ireland, my husband thinks it is so weird that I am so into Titanic history and I love cruising. I really want to make the crossing but he is not into that at all, maybe when we retire someday! Enjoyed Jason's solo gig!
@@Nature_with_Peter_Kane I have been there done that, I loved Cork and I have roots in Northern Ireland. I liked the museum but not as much as I hoped to. The actual pier in Cork and the slipways in Belfast meant more to me. The Emerald Isle is a special place. i can not wait to return!
@@pen4tenn We were in Ireland for 5 weeks this year. It was just fabulous..the castles, the scenery, the people!! I have a bunch of cute videos from Ireland on my channel if you're interested.
Awww. Missed Alisa on this walkabout, but you did okay, Jason! 😁👍Those houses were so cool. And I had no idea about the Titanic. How interesting! Thank goodness you were able to have a Guinness. Gotta stay hydrated. 🍻
Thank you! I’ve really enjoyed exploring with you. The Deck of Cards, then the Cathedral, how spectacular! I’ve always wanted to take a cruise but haven’t gotten a passport yet. Lol. Hopefully soon!
Cobh is an Irish spelling The Irish language does not have the letter V. Letter combination bh make the V sound. Queenstown is the colonial name which is no longer used. In ancient times the area was known as Cuan an Neimheadh (the Harbour of Neimheidh), a figure in medieval Irish legend.
Alisa, what responsibility and dedication you showed to your priorities, staying on the Ship, and working while Jason, took the reigns as Tour Guide around Ireland 😉 You were definitely missed but great job Jason! I know you WILL RETURN and you will give us a great tour! I hope you had a great time after Sail Away. And Alisa, you look beautiful and I am amazed at your hair growth. I really would love to know your products. Take care. Thanks again for the video! Love everyone you post! ~Lizzy 🙂💜
There is a 2nd larger, more intensive Titanic museum in Belfast, which I skipped. I took a tour of the walls and history of " The troubles" of the 1970s , the IRA etc.
Surely you must have visited the place where I (yours Truly) laid several bricks and blocks on a 3 bed semi detached housing developement in 1974, working with my father when aged 15 - 16. I've been in London 35 years but I was sure they would have put a plaque there in my honour :) We drove from home, 200 mtrs from Shandon Steeple in Cork City. Sorry about the indulgent whimsy. Yesterday I watched both London uploads. Not the best hotel location for you both (or room) to walk from. I hope you get to see it properly one day. Yes, it was originally Queenstown in 1912, but it was changed to Cobh long before the '70's. It had a more direct involvement with the German sinking of the Lusitania in 1916(?) as so many survivors were brought ashore right on the quays. I didn't know the Titanic was moored right up to the harbour. I thought it had to be stationed much farther out and passengers (& what little cargo) were ferried there - but at 16 .....

Love you wearing your Boston shirts/jackets around the world! I'm a Massachusetts girl!
Happy you liked my home
Alisa looks absolutely beautiful with her short hair!! She doesn’t need the wig!
Agree!

I totally agree! I had a salon appointment yesterday and was totally attempted to go short!

For us it resembles The Painted Ladies in San Francisco. We just went there this summer. I'm from British Columbia in 🇨🇦

Well done Jason even though you felt lost without Alisa haha
Your hair is absolutely adorable! You are really rocking it out! Love watching your videos! Always fun to watch while we wait on our next cruise!
Both of you have new hair. You look FABULOUS! BTW, the little tour was nice too.
Alisa your hair looks great. You don't need wigs anymore 👍♥️🙏♥️😇
Cobh appears to be a very colorful place. Thanks for sharing and I hope that you enjoy being there as much as I did watching your video.
I’ve always thought a cruise to Ireland would be a lot of fun - thanks for sharing this with us!
Cobh is such a pretty port. I loved it x
How cool! My great grandfather, John MCINERNEY, was from County Cork. I would love to go there.

So sorry Alisa didn’t get to explore Port of Cork (Cove). Ireland is so pretty. Jason did a great job!, Looking forward to your next video.
I loved the video of the NCL encore haven cabins and haven that you guys did
From cobh and have met the guy playing his instrument before. Great video ❤

Wow! What a beautiful port and so much history!
Hi guys! Jason you’re doing a great job! I love your beautiful hair Alisa
Such a shame that Alisa was stuck on board. That is pure dedication to the channel and the agency.
Great video 🌸💐🌸💐
My daughter really enjoyed Cobh when she did a semester abroad and really enjoyed the Titanic museum (as well as the other one in Belfast!)

Hi Alisa and Jason!

I'll be in Ireland 🇮🇪 next month for 2 weeks

Ireland somewhere allways wanted to go
Ireland is beautiful. Was there in April/May for 5 weeks. Ended up with plenty of pictures and videos!!
Thanks for the tour! My ancestors were Roney and Fitzgeralds. Ireland cruise vacation is on our bucket list! Texas out. 👊🏻🤙🏻
You've always wanted to come to Ireland, but couldn't be bothered to leave the ship. Wow you REALLY wanted to see Ireland. Oh please.
Well… this trip was for work and I had to work that day. Real life happens! Don’t be so judgmental!! I would have rather gotten off the ship!

The Titanic never docked in Cobh, it anchored by Roches Point light house & passages wearing tendered to it. 👍
If that was a taste of Ireland you only experienced a morsel. You will have to return for an all you can eat buffet :)

Lol Jason got distracted by the pub!
Well done on correcting the pronunciation of cobh 😄
MAN I CAN'T WAIT TO GET ON THAT CRUISE SHIP Y'ALL HAVING TOO MUCH FUN
Nice job Jason so sad that Alisa miste the port hand had to stay on ship
Nice shirt at the end B
You should of tried Burma steps, it's the steps Jake Doyle the boxer used to run up and down while training, the walk alone is hell
Well this was a short one but as always amazing content love you guys travel safe

Lucky you. That's all I have have to say. Lucky you!🥰🤟
On our list of places to visit
Are you on the regular Wi-Fi, or the premium wifi? Bummer to hear they didn’t invest in a better performing wifi system like Starlink
OMG. I’m going there Monday.
Enjoy!
Did you visit the big church in Reykjavik ?
We didn’t
I was watching your video on panorama, I’m going October 22nd, what’s there to do if cruising solo?.
Love the video. What map app were you using?
What did you use to tour around and find points of interest?
Well dang. No bangers and mash? But at least you had a real beer! 😄
