  • Replacing the interior lights on any car for LED is a good choice if you want more light and a modern look.
    I changed over the lights on my Volvo s40 and it made a huge difference. This video can also give you an idea on how to replace the lights on a v50, c30 and c70 of the same age.
    Here is the light kit I used, it came with all the bulbs and adapters but also included a handy guide of which bulbs are which.

    Last video I watched neglected to mention the fact I'd need new bulb holders. Spent 15 minutes ripping bulbs out and now I have no lights in my car as I've broken the bulb holders 😂.

      That’s annoying, you should be able to buy the bulb holders they are cheap and you’ll be able to see at night again! At least it happened in the summer!

    Going to do the same on my S40N 2006 a really easy upgrade.
    Are the bulb adapters included in the kit for the map lights in the ceiling?
    I dont like that the dimming seems to flicker in your video. Is it doing that in real life or just on the camera?

    • @db192
      @db192  2 роки тому +1

      Hello, yes the adapters come as part of the kit. There are 6 of them. The lights do slightly flicker but it’s barely noticeable, it is made a lot worse by the camera due to the frame rate. We have a boat called Orfeous. 😁

    I had a hard time finding the same set but for the V50, so I bought the S40 and hope for the best, should be the same in my opinion....

    It would be great if you mentioned the length of the bulbs you installed in each application, for example the vanity mirror bulbs.

      Definitely worth checking the fuses. They should be under the steering wheel if it’s right hand drive. Or might be to the right side of the engine bay. If you Google S40 fuse location it should have pictures on where to find them.

      I did miss out the glove box I’m sorry, hopefully once you have replaced all the other lights in the cabin it should give you the confidence and enough experience to give it a go. It should simply pop out with a pry tool then it’s just a case of replacing the bulb in a similar way to the others. Let me know how you get on and thank you for your comment!
