- I have been requested to play and review a ROM Hack made by "ilovelaurenp." The hack requires precision jumps, a strong will and persistance out the ass. The creator was aiming for difficult, and they succeeded! Watch this three-part video for the beginning of the game.
By the time I've posted this video, I have still not seen the end of the level. I will take another crack at this level tomorrow evening and we'll see if I am able to finish it by then...

Ahhh the memories. It's hard to believe you and Lily are what got me started on let's plays.
This hack is bad. The graphics are gimped out, the creator did not play test this without tools, and he is blatantly picky on how you play the levels. I'll overlook that he implies his occasional "casual blasphemy". This is in need of a severe graphical overhaul before it can even be considered good, and if he wants you to play a level a particular way, he should have thought about it earlier.
Even with all that, hope is still not lost.
Kaizo is harder than Mario's Masochistic Mission. Kusottare is harder than SMW Intrigue. In fact, now that there are videos of MMM on UA-cam, that makes it even easier. Pit of 5 trials took a little less time that Kusottare level 1.
Otaku doesn't really mean anime addict. This is the meaning in the western culture. In Japan, Otaku is often used to describe someone who loves anime, but it actually means couch potato, someone who just sits at home.
Oh, and btw: In Japan, every cartoon is called Anime, no matter where in comes from. In western culture this term is reserved for japanese cartoons.

I think he should have jumped to the right on the trampoline of 'good luck', there would be a shield somewhere to get big yoshi. Then he would go into the pipe, get the 1-ups, jump up, spin jump to get off yoshi and reach to the pipe...

that "death trap" is a glitch when you put a warp pipe but dont give it a place to go in lunar magic you get sent to that never ending bonus game

I realized my answer could be misunderstood too late, sorry.
Try using different save state key inputs... Like mine is Ctrl to save and Alt to load. If that doesn't work, try a different emulator..
To the people who want to know what Kaizo means: It means "Edit." Simply that.
Anything other then that usually means you are attaching a stigma to the word.

That's how the minigame works. IF a pipe sents you there, and not the 100 bonus stars, you get stuck forever unless it's edited to have an exit
When a video has to be split up into levels, then attempts, then individual parts of those attempts, you know you have a nasty game on your hands.

Yes, kaizo is Japanese. You pronounce is Ka-i-zo.
But I'm not sure what it means. I think "destructive" or something like that.
No, Kaizo doesn't mean asshole. Kusotare, pronounced K'sotaree, means asshole. Kuso = shit.

I know that kuso means faeces, and the Japanese like to use the same term for both technical and parody, so kuso = shit, so I am assuming the lexographical meaning of kusottare is shit-hole, which is the same as asshole, since shit comes out of the ass.

On another page of the comments, someone insulted someone by calling them an otaku, because they got the definition for kaizo and kusottare world wrong...
So, if Otaku means anime addict...then english translations of animes are wrong?

To everyone who thinks that kaizo (or kaizou) means asshole, that is because it was incorrectly translated to that, most likely out of aggravation. Kaizo really does mean remodeling or reconstruction. The closest word to asshole that I know of in Japanese, since i don't know much, is baka, or idiot. If anyone knows what asshole is in Japanese, please reply.
i just downloaded this...i beat the first thing first try but then i died in less than 2 seconds on the first levels
There are plenty of easy hacks as there are hard. Many fun hacks as there are horrible. Just got to find and play the right one, as this one is extremely hard and horrible. I watch SSoHPKC who is bigger and who got inspired from this guy and RaoCow a very long time ago.
I'm wondering if the name "Kusottare" is supposed to flow with the creator's possibly southern accent.

I played brutal mario world and it was rly fun but it is only a demo ver -_- and i played kaizomarioworld which is fun :)
How to check AzureBlade's progress: 1. Play video. 2. Watch until he is stuck. 3. Advance to end of video. 4. If still there move to next, video. 5. If not go back to where he got stuck and watch.
that is difficulty that is easy to make in lunar magic like even 8 years old did repeat of kussotare level 4 i guess was it ddr masta or something like that weas called seriously that is bad
How to use these save / loads you use?
I choose f2 to save state0 and then f3 to load, but it just says state0 loaded and then nothing happens, it just continues... help me :C
That's no brother. That's the grandfather of kaiso. When I saw what you had to do, it was crazy as all hell. The key jumping part is awesome, but it still WAYYY too hard!
I almost asked the creator for the hack... thank god i didn't, much more to do with my life than this, plus it made me want to go back to kaizo, which is actually fun :)
@ThePizzamaniac 1) Emulators. 2) Try changing the settings for video and use different emulators. On my laptop, zsnes works perfect right out of the zip.
For those who plan on one day visiting Japan, I highly suggest you don't say the name of this romhack, as Kusotare is a very offensive word in Japan.
played an even worse rom with an even mor imposable rom hack entrence with a bomb hiting you and every other enemy I can think of hiting you at once! O_O
i can try it but i don't make vids of it Yet. but actually i am willing to play it. i need to get my skills up so i can start doing the harder romhacks

Kaizo isn't the creator's name. In fact it isn't even the hack's name. Kaizo means "hack." So that's what we call it...
This hack isn't worth it, it's rediculously hard, games are sposed to be challenging, but they're also sposed to be fun

In the beginning of the intro (not the title screen) the background has an "unusual" arrangement of mountains/hills
he should have used Texty in here. i would have Laughed my ass off even more with Texty giving him no piece of rest

Kaizo 2 started the trend. Quite a few romhacks feature that now. Khold and SWSM to name but two.
It's a ZSNES exclusive feature. By default, it's the spacebar.
