I am from maharashtra we love mangoes this much that we go to konkan to buy mangoes as konkan has the authenticity of alphanso mangoes. And yes in india they cost around 300 to 400 rupees. And generally all maharashtra goes to konkan in summers for mangoes fishes and beaches. love from kolhapur.

Alfhanso is the best mango in Maharashtra. We people in Mumbai love it .the rates here are ₹ 700 to 900 per dozen depending on the size.

Both alfanso and sindiri found in my nearest landlord farm field of mangoes. The farm also has 15 types of mangoes including these two variety. During season whole area is fill with nice aroma.

if you would have got "achha bhagya" and ate "Gir Kesar" mangos of Saurashtra, Gujarat, Maa Kasam... you'd have give 100 out of 10 to it....!!

Sindhri is more for juice/shake as they are bulky/fleshy giving it 8 is the right out of the box, for Pakistani ones.
Again the same specie of Sindhri coming from the province of Sindh, which come precede those from Punjab, are better in taste, in Pakistan.
It is rather improper to compare the tastes of the mangoes of the two countries with different varieties! The appropriate, method would be to make a comparison of the same varieties of India and Pakistan.
likewise, you can compare Langra and Chonsa of Pakistan with the same variety from India, as I did with Sindhri from Sindh and Punjab within Pakistan!
Besides, I would suggest try Anwar Latol, Kala Chaunsa, Dosra from Pakistan if you ever find them in London.

Just couple of things that might amuse you.
A girl from Romania who was here in Peshawar in Winter and was leaving Pakistan just before the Mango season. When I told her you are leaving/missing mangoes when are just around the corner, she asked if they taste like apples as she never tasted them.
Similary, another girl from England who served in an International Organization and who used to visit Pakistan on official tours told me, that she schedules trips so that she is here when Mangoes season is on!
