And even with the Western Brotherhood, the intent is to collect *dangerous* technology, like the _nuclear missiles_ that you can find and launch in the Capitol Wasteland. But after Maxon took over, the Eastern Brotherhood expanded on Lyon's mission to destroy the Super Mutant menace. That's absolutely beneficial to both the Capitol and the Commonwealth.
Ender Drone, you can download a mod that restores what they cut during the writing process to have Maxon killed and either you or Danse take over. It’s on Xbox one and PC.
One of the last things Preston said was exactly what I was thinking, the institute had everything it needed to survive but they chose to use the commonwealth's innocent survivors as Guinea pigs for their synth experiments. They claim they are helping humanity, but they were just taking it away so people could be slaves. If you ask me the bioscience section was the most humane section, with Vergil trying to cure the FEV.

Beforehand, he would've continued the experiments, depite any moral quelms, if they had been able to produce any significant results. The lack of results is his main arguement for shutting the experiment down, as if they would justify what was being done to the people they kidnapped. However, I agree that the rest of Bioscience was doing good for the commonwealth, what with the growth of new plants and the creation of synthetic Wildlife.

There's also a cut (and apparently really easy to restore since everything is essentially within the files ready to go) path where you can still become sentinel after siding with the minutemen without losing anything

Maybe have Shaun say something like "The Minutemen, under your guidance, went from one man barely able to protect a few people from raiders, to a powerful force to be reckoned with, and you were only continuing to make them stronger. We were afraid that the Commonwealth would continue to hate and distrust us, or perhaps decide to invade and plunder us. We couldn't risk the Minutemen becoming powerful enough to pull off such a feat, and sought to destroy them before they grew too powerful. But, it seems, thanks to you, that they already were." As silly as that reasoning would have been, it still would have been better than nothing.

Gadgeh Kon the institute is responsible for only a small fraction of kidnappings. The institute blowing up does not solve the super mutant problem, raiders, animals, gunners, and ghouls so you know something tells me eliminating a powerful faction that does far less harm than the real threats doesn't actually solve the problem of living in a irradiated wasteland. super mutants make other super mutants all by themselves the institute being gone does not change that.

Sucks that you can't keep Danse as a companion if you destroyed the Prydwen, it doesn't make sense after what happened during Blind Betrayal. He just becomes a normal settler, no confrontation about what you did whatsoever. I guess it's not intended but Bethesda just kind of left it hanging.
With Our Powers Combined (the minutemen destroying prydwen) is just bethesda failsafe in case player went hostile with every faction. Since you cannot hostile with minutemen, and you can end the railroad basically just by clear their HQ.
I can summarize it right here: "Waaaah we wanted to destroy the Institute, but the Minutemen did instead! I need to install some sort of automatic Preparation H applicator to the back of my codpiece for all the butthurt I'm experiencing."
Transforming Roland Interesting. Did you happen to complete the Nuclear Option with the Railroad instead? From completing the Nuclear Option with the Minutemen, I found that X6-88 would turn hostile even if I sent him to a different settlement, Sanctuary included.

+Wolf Star I always hated the Brotherhood of Steal. Perhaps it's because I see synths as people too, who deserve respect. And I prefer sneaking around rather than moving around in metal. I like the Railroad and Minutemen more. But Preston...he's intolerable....
Curie has my favorite reaction. Though I personally side with the Institute with some philisophical reservations, she puts it greatly. It's always a tragedy when knowledge is used for evil. More so when you have to destroy that knowledge. But I suppose in the end, all that matters is ones sincerity in believing they are doing the right thing.
I feel the Institute ending is the best for long term goals. But short term moral relief, yeah Minutemen is the best. Brotherhood, Institute, and Railroad endingd all result in killing killing two other factions, that's why I feel Minutemen are just a pleasant and good ending.
The biggest problem, for me at least, is how underdeveloped the Minutemen are compared to the other factions. Think about it. BoS have dozens of voiced NPCs, with personalities and quests and ambitions. They have a structured questline that leads logically to their victory in the Commonwealth. So does the Institute. So does the Railroad. Hell, so do the Children of Atom and the Harbormen in Far Harbor. What do the Minutemen get? Preston Garvey, the most robotic NPC in a game with actual robot NPCs, with a endless supply of near identical missions. Oh, and Ronnie Shaw for exactly one mission. That's it. And their questline for victory is to literally walk up to Garvey and say "Hey, the Institute is a problem, we should do something about that". And then we do something about that. Every soldier in the Minutemen is a drone, just repeating the same few lines over and over again. You don't get the opportunity of actually leading an army, making tactical decisions, you know, actually being a general. Nor do you get the feeling that anything is actually improving. Unless you go out of your way to build up these settlements you help out, they've still remain small, 2-3 man ruined houses with a small farm. And even if you do, the second a ghoul swarm walks past, no matter how many turrets you've built, and how many minutemen you've recruited, and how well armed you've made the settlers, they'll still call for help from you, personally. And if you don't help them, then miraculously the small swarm of ghouls will completely overrun the fortress you've built. Or a raider will kidnap someone. That's why Fallout 4 bugs me the most. Because there was so much promise that they didn't do anything with.
I was always a little aggravated that no one really acknowledged the fact that you killed your son and all that he stood for just to make these people happy
I wish they would change Danse's dialogue for after he gets betrayed by the Brotherhood, he seems to be still obsessed with them, and they hate him, so why does he still like them? Bethesda should update it, and put in some different dialogue.

Danse is the only good member of the brotherhood of steel in my opinion. I've never really liked them. They give me space command vibes if buzz light-year was a xenophobic moron and zurg was a mad scientist who just so happens to be the son of the protagonist instead of father.
While it would certainly be interesting i could never see that happening though. The Enclave wanted to exterminate everything that isn't 100% human. Their goal was to create a united nation under their cause. The Institute is actively trying to replace humans with Synths. They even say that they want humans to be replaced by Synths because they think that humans will go extinct in the commonwealth. So while the Institute is all about creating a new species to populate the world, the Enclave is doing everything to preserve human life.
The only reason such an unlikely alliance would form would be because of the scientists and technology the Institute had, and after the Commonwealth was secured save for the Minutemen (but even that's a stretch), the Enclave would probably betray the Institute and take the facility over.
I wish you can make X6-88 betray the institute and battle along your side but nope, he will be your enemy once you become the Institute's enemy and I'm fine with that.

Failing to issue the evacuation order will result in becoming enemies with the Railroad. In addition, the Minutemen were told by Preston to let anyone out who wasn't hostile.

The institute blowing up does not solve the super mutant problem, raiders, animals, gunners, and ghouls so you know something tells me eliminating a powerful faction that does far less harm than the real threats doesn't actually solve the problem of living in a irradiated wasteland. super mutants make other super mutants all by themselves the institute being gone does not change that.

Sucks that you can't keep Danse as a companion if you destroyed the Prydwen, it doesn't make sense after what happened during Blind Betrayal. He just becomes a normal settler, no confrontation about what you did whatsoever. I guess it's not intended but Bethesda just kind of left it hanging.
With Our Powers Combined (the minutemen destroying prydwen) is just bethesda failsafe in case player went hostile with every faction. Since you cannot hostile with minutemen, and you can end the railroad basically just by clear their HQ.

Transforming Roland Interesting. Did you happen to complete the Nuclear Option with the Railroad instead? From completing the Nuclear Option with the Minutemen, I found that X6-88 would turn hostile even if I sent him to a different settlement, Sanctuary included.

Curie has my favorite reaction. Though I personally side with the Institute with some philisophical reservations, she puts it greatly.
It's always a tragedy when knowledge is used for evil. More so when you have to destroy that knowledge.
But I suppose in the end, all that matters is ones sincerity in believing they are doing the right thing.
I feel the Institute ending is the best for long term goals. But short term moral relief, yeah Minutemen is the best. Brotherhood, Institute, and Railroad endingd all result in killing killing two other factions, that's why I feel Minutemen are just a pleasant and good ending.
Strong is the only companion that reacts in a good way in both the institute and “good” ending. This is why, Strong is the best companion.
The biggest problem, for me at least, is how underdeveloped the Minutemen are compared to the other factions. Think about it. BoS have dozens of voiced NPCs, with personalities and quests and ambitions. They have a structured questline that leads logically to their victory in the Commonwealth. So does the Institute. So does the Railroad. Hell, so do the Children of Atom and the Harbormen in Far Harbor.
What do the Minutemen get? Preston Garvey, the most robotic NPC in a game with actual robot NPCs, with a endless supply of near identical missions. Oh, and Ronnie Shaw for exactly one mission. That's it. And their questline for victory is to literally walk up to Garvey and say "Hey, the Institute is a problem, we should do something about that". And then we do something about that.
Every soldier in the Minutemen is a drone, just repeating the same few lines over and over again. You don't get the opportunity of actually leading an army, making tactical decisions, you know, actually being a general.
Nor do you get the feeling that anything is actually improving. Unless you go out of your way to build up these settlements you help out, they've still remain small, 2-3 man ruined houses with a small farm. And even if you do, the second a ghoul swarm walks past, no matter how many turrets you've built, and how many minutemen you've recruited, and how well armed you've made the settlers, they'll still call for help from you, personally. And if you don't help them, then miraculously the small swarm of ghouls will completely overrun the fortress you've built. Or a raider will kidnap someone.
That's why Fallout 4 bugs me the most. Because there was so much promise that they didn't do anything with.

+William Mandang Unfortunately, there are different sacrifices involved with each ending.
Imagine the remnants of the Enclave and the remnants of the Institue joining forces, that would be a good DLC.
While it would certainly be interesting i could never see that happening though. The Enclave wanted to exterminate everything that isn't 100% human. Their goal was to create a united nation under their cause. The Institute is actively trying to replace humans with Synths. They even say that they want humans to be replaced by Synths because they think that humans will go extinct in the commonwealth. So while the Institute is all about creating a new species to populate the world, the Enclave is doing everything to preserve human life.
So the brotherhood became the enclave basically. Those hypocritical bastards.
The only reason such an unlikely alliance would form would be because of the scientists and technology the Institute had, and after the Commonwealth was secured save for the Minutemen (but even that's a stretch), the Enclave would probably betray the Institute and take the facility over.
So you can still complete Blind Betrayal if you choose the Minutemen ending? How?

+Sneaky Little Shit In the background, the Railroad helps people out of the Institute after the player issues the evacuation order on Father's terminal. Failing to issue the evacuation order will result in becoming enemies with the Railroad. In addition, the Minutemen were told by Preston to let anyone out who wasn't hostile.
