NF is showing the humor side of him, like when he tried to high five the kid in the supermarket 😂 this was him experimenting a different sound to show he not just known for one sound. Also I feel like the “one trick pony” verse was directed at Rolling Stones dumb ass article who called him “a one trick pony” bc he beat out Chance the Rapper and the verse about him not having a trophy was about the Grammy (even tho he don’t care about awards) we were all expecting him to get a Grammy or a nomination for “The Search” but he didn’t bc the industry refused to acknowledge his music.
I also believe it shows his evolution as a person especially now he has a baby on the way. It shows how he is seeing the brighter side of life and how that has changed him. The use of humour something foreign in his music emphasising this change.
