The serial number for a wireless sensor can be manually entered, or it can be learned-in automatically. Learning-in the device is the recommended method for adding the serial number. Activate or tamper the sensor two times to learn-in the serial number.
what about programming 5808w3 units into a 5881hnc unit. I have a house with about 16 smoke detectors, 5808w3 units...and I am wondering how to make them alert all other smoke detectors to go off upon a test etc or upon detection of smoke.
This feature is called "One-Go-All-Go" and is not something the 5808w3 is capable of doing. Here are some wired smoke detectors that do have this ability, the only wireless smoke that would be able to do this is not compatible with the VISTA panel, as well as more information about the feature itself: www.alarmgrid.com/browse/one-go-all-go-wired-smoke-detectors
