Linsanity was so special. Dude continues to be one of the most humble players. He got to experience every aspect of life in the NBA, from nobody to superstar, even if it was for a short while. And he's got a damn Harvard education. He owes nobody anything.
^
who????
And he has a ring to top if off
@Rumcajs1-yy2tm cringe
@Rumcajs1-yy2tm never heard of him in my life lmao
I was rooting for Lin, man-as I'm sure quite a few people were. I'm glad he's still playing, but after Linsanity was treated like a fart in the wind, I saw the beginning of the end. Given his age and the far better young talent in the league today, unfortunately he'll never see another NBA minute
Blame melo because when got back he was an a whole to Lin
I don’t feel like the young players of today are far better today, Lin has all the tools to thrive today had he stayed healthy on the right pick and roll team
he's retired
@@eddie.6019uh, no. He’s playing with his brother in Taiwan. Google is free
@@eddie.6019he’s playing in Taiwan
Rookie at 26 is wild. Highly commendable. Brief or not, all these guys achieved the dream.
^^
You ever heard of Pablo Prigioni? Knicks player who came in as almost 40 year old rookie 😂 was a pretty solid player too
@@Noles4life77knicks legend
@@Noles4life77fun fact, Isaiah Hartenstein who was drafted with the 2nd round pick prigioni was traded for (with other player and picks) has now played for all three teams prigioni played for (didn’t play for Denver but still traded to them)
You missed one of the biggest parts of Tyreke Evans. He was banned from the NBA for violating the terms of its Anti-Drug Program. He was banned for nearly two years.
I’m confused why he didn’t even mention that part
I always thought that was kinda sad like he could've been just taking adderall or sippin lean, but what if bro really needed help?? They just hoe'd him for no reason😂
@@backyardbaseball2006 I can't find how many time he got in trouble. But more than a season ban is wild
@@JJuiicceee If he wasn't banned, he would of at the least have been a decent bench player
@@BigBlueBugGaming possibly more. He averaged 10 PPG on Indiana which was meh but the year before he had 19 and 5 on the Grizzlies and for most of his career he was a solid starter on the 15-17 range
Lin was actually doing pretty well in Charlotte with Kemba plus when he got traded to the Nets he was still great but that opening game injury destroyed his NBA career...was really sad to see but he''s doing well playing in Taiwan right now though, he never gave up and I respect that.
Surprised that you didn't mention Tryeke Evans getting banned from the NBA for drug use. It's sad, and I don't think the NBA should do that to players who test positive for hard drugs. But it is a part of Tyreke's story.
Sure, let's allow NBA shoot heroin and smoke dope at half time... Gtfo
He shouldn't have done drugs
Don’t do drugs if you don’t want to get banned.
Ja can pretty much run a gang that has threatened other players and only get 20 games
Reek did an drug (it was meth or coke i think) and is banned for life.
It doesnt add up
Don't smoke crack
- Lawrence Taylor
Lin is a serviceable role player. Hardly a flash in a pan. Just shows if you give an opportunity and the right system for a player, he will bring out his best
dude your videos are so refreshing. Got sick of those monotone, 10 minute, redundant videos. I love the length of your vids, the energy you bring, and the fresh nuance in your takes. Excited to watch your channel grow!
Glad you are liking them chief!
Agreed. They are perfect. Doesn’t try to steal the spotlight and nothing hyperbolic or attention seeking. You immediately like him and the videos.
Heard that! I'll make sure to keep the 🧢away from this channel
For sure. Got the sub from me.
Lin brushing off kobe to hit the deep 3 is one of the biggest flexes anyone has ever done in a basketball game
That was totally some Asian shit too 😂
This was so well written and researched. Great clip!
glad you enjoyed it!
yeah, especially the part where he said
*iM nOt TaLkiNg aBoUt KoBe BrYaNt* in a video about one-hit wonders.
soooooo well written haha, yikers.
@@thejanglezclanhe knew an a obvious joke would get Kobe throaters to comment and promote engagement on the video. Hahah yikers.
I’m glad Lin ended up with a ring, and imo he has a pretty good reputation among most people, even years later. Besides the occasional Shaq or whatever, his legacy is pretty solid.
I wouldn't call Bynum a One Hit Wonder though. He had a couple healthy season that lead to 2 championships.
NONE OF THEM ARE!!
This is what happens when you suck at the English language.
REgarding Barros, I think it's worth mentioning that his 46% was during one of the 3 years the NBA moved the 3pt line in pretty significantly from 23.9 ft to 22 ft in 1994-95, 95-96 and 96-97. If you look at some of the 3 pt numbers from that era, they are pretty skewed.
He still was a hell of a player and had a more than respectable career in the NBA.
If you take those seasons away from Jordan, he’s Rondo from the 3😂😂😂
Watching Aaron Brooks during his first Rockets run was unreal. We thought we had our answer at PG to take some of the pressure away from T-Mac and Yao.
The year Barros shot 46 from three was also the year the NBA moved in the three point line.
I don’t think people understand how hard it is to stay at the top especially in a place as competitive as the NBA
I just randomly scrolled past this and thought you were calling these guys one year wonder frauds but i was certainly wrong you did a great job explaining why some of these guys production dipped ... also Jeremy still had the same talent in hou and Charlotte that he had in ny imo had a team made him the number one guard he probably would have still avg 20 ppg & 8 apg
glad you enjoyed it!
ty evans also kinda deteriorated cuz Sacramento tried playing him at diffirent poisitions instead of his main PG role
Tyreke Evans would've stayed great if they kept him at the PG position. They kept trying to play him at the SF or SG.
MCW was genuinely fantastic for the Magic. No he wasn’t a star, but his defense and hustle was an integral part of us finishing above 500 in 2019. Stats may not tell the whole truth but dude was an absolute dog every time he touched the court for us.
Loved MCW in Orlando, did a job when the job needed done
Interesting that you didn't mention what killed Evan's career which was getting banned for 2 years for smoking Weed (i think) and then basically getting shadowbanned by the league. Without that he was probably the closest to living up to his potential. Just the year before getting banned he averaged 19 and 5 on the Grizzlies after finally playing as a Point Guard.
Yeah he's not becoming a superstar but i can see him going in that Jamal Crawford,Lou Williams,Mike Conley tier of one of the best to not make the All Stars
Mike colony made a allstar
Carmelo Anthony f up linsanity
Tyreke Evans doesn't really belong on this list. I get that when a rookie averages 20-6-6 you don't expect him to end up being just a slightly above average Starter but out of 10 seasons in the league he averaged 15 or above in 7 of them. So being between 15-20 for most of your career (while largely playing out of position and even averaging 19 and 20 respectively whenever you actually play in your proper position) is hardly a one hit wonder.
Same for Guys like Andrew Bynum and Roy Hibbert. Those guys don't really belong on the same list as guys like Aaron Brooks,Jeremy Lin and Carter Williams
I was looking for this. Hibbert was a multiple time allstar and several all defense selections. If he enters the league 5 years earlier, he has a looonngg career. Bynum wasn’t interested in playing anymore and Reke had a long layoff but still was Uber productive.
Thank you for including really detailed and well punctuated subtitles and closed captions in the video, i really appreciate it
My pleasure! I realize there are some people watching this video where English may not be their first language so I want to make sure they can still understand it!
@@LockdownK That’s awesome man, I’m deaf so i use the UA-cam auto generated captions, but sometimes they are really bad and make no sense at all haha So the extra effort is greatly appreciated it, +1 Sub 🙌🏼
One love!
I was just looking for a 20+ video. Posted this right on time
Same here.
Yessir
Linsanity will definitely be embedded into the basketball culture forever. If it's not for injuries, Jlin would've had a solid career
aaron brooks and kobe in the same sentence is wild 😂
lolll
**Video idea**: One team wonders
Players who built themselves on a team, leave or get traded and are never the same, even if it’s their prime or not. Seeing lance stephenson reminded of it. But there are many other examples
If anything Dana Barros was a pre Iverson
Not everyone can be a legend, but all these guys still lived out their dreams
^
Don't get me wrong he was never as good as when he ran the point but callin' Tyreek Evans a 1Hit Wonder is disrespectful AF😂
i was so shocked when i saw ur subscribers, ur videos r just perfect and so professional! so underrated bro, wish u all the best fr
Thank you so much 😀
Glad I found this channel! Perfect length & never a dull moment
Welcome aboard!
This channel keeps getting suggested in my feed lowkey even coming thru 😮💨
Thank you for including that Mike James season. I remember Raptors point guards from this era fondly: Rafer Alston, TJ Ford, Calderon of course.
100%
Please keep up the great work bro, fantastic!
will do!
I remember wanting to see more of Lin before he finally got his chance on a team that was floundering. I figured he could at least play some opportunistic defence and run the pick and roll, though I felt his biggest perk was not being Ray Felton. I figured he was a good, under-utilized player. In the end, that’s what he was. He wasn’t Linsanity, but he was a solid, serviceable player.
Raymond Felton catching strays out here haha. But yeah you have a point there!
Little remembered fact about the Linsanity game: After a hot start, he went into an 0-8 shooting draught, but it didn't phase him and he got right back to work once he got one to go down, finishing the game 10-19. Mamba mentality!
Great video man, surprised you only got 17k subscribers with this level of content
I appreciate you chief!
Linsanity is the only one hit wonder who achieved nba champion status
Lin was good and severely underrated. The problem is ppl especially asian community milking his 2 weeks long linsanity too much. I think there's at least 5 linsanity movie already. Totally unnecessary
Best video so far broski keep grinding ❤
You already know! Preciate you G!
Bynum and gasol was the reason I became a laker fan and the riots after they went back to back 😅
Love your video, man. Keep it keep.
14:32 I think it was a locker room era . Somebody started messing with his wife and his game just fell off the map
You know you’ve left a legacy when there’s a phrase based on your name.
To have a Linsanity run
^^^
I was very sad when Jeremy Lin was traded from the Knicks to the Rockets.
Stop it. MCW was never good. Dude put up empty stats on a horrid team.
😂😂😂
His rookie year is, he was def good as a rookie
not many rookies can put empty stats on a garbage team. just look at every single player labelled as 'the next lebron james' they even struggle a lot
Didn't expect much before watching, but this was gold. Keep it up!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Lin lowkey had a comeback with the nets before he tore his ACL then he was never the same like D-Rose sadly
No way dude called Liangelo Ball a one hit wonder 😂
Jeremy Lin could’ve been a big star if the Knicks knew his potential and gave him an actual chance
It's strange that Michael Carter Williams is the youngest player here but most forgetable, also you could ad Brandon Jennings to the list..
Don’t forget that Lin also won a chip with the 2019 Toronto Raptors.
Sheck Wes out here catching strays 😅
How was Tyreke looking like Kyrie when he was in the league before Kyrie💀🤣🤣 also Tyreke got caught up on that Anti drug thing that’s why he was out of the league
I was at the game Lin dropped 38 on Kobe. in New York, Linsanity was a very special time that you just had to be there for
Lucky, I wish I was there
Michael Carter Williams was just the strangest career
Larry Sanders found himself RIGHT after he signed a 4 year 44 million dollar deal.
Great video!! Hope too see more like this!
Check the channel we got plenty!
As soon as I saw the title of this vid, mike James was the first guy that came to mind lol
I agree with everyone on this list, except for Tyreke Evans. He was much more than a one-hit wonder, he had a solid five-six year peak.
“If you ever find yourself watching Venezuelan pro basketball, you might…”
Be kidnapped in Venezuela or in even worse trouble than that
You make great content, you're my favorite nba channel rn
Glad you enjoy it!
Ahh the stanky leg is such a classic dance move 😏
bro its already passed 15 years. enough for most players who played in NBA for 15 years.
He need to change the Title because A one hit wonder wouldn't have 4 or 5 successful seasons and play 10 seasons in the league
9 steals is insane!!
Man Aaron Brooks was a CHEAT CODE in 2k11
Weird question but where did u get the posters you have in the back
Etsy! Pretty sure if you search basketball legends poster you'll find it
First time viewer, solid content. Good pacing, background audio to compliment the visual.
Glad you enjoyed it!
you've earned a sub great content
Bynum and Lin won rings don’t think they deserved to be on this video like you said the NBA changed so much within a small time frame
Man, I thought Larry Sanders was HIM!! Glad to see the man doing better and taking care of himself!
Already 2023 here in Germany so happy new year my G! Hope you have a great 2024 - looking forward to your videos!! All the best 🫶
Preciate you big homie! Happy New Years to you also! Wishing the best for you this year, go kill it!
Aaron brooks was a stud to pick up in a 2k franchise
Made this video 7 years ago with MCW, Tim Frazer, JLin and others, literally the same type of video with stats and explanations, it got maybe 500 views in that amount of time
I remember Aaron Brooks giving us a show against Kobe and the Lakers. Man, that was special. Kobe my GOAT but he made me root for him cause he looking like my favorite player, my boy, BRoy for a moment.
I lived in NY during Linsanity it was wild!! His face was everywhere in the city.
Man I wish I was there for that!
Tyreke was still good after the first year injuries man
Man this video brought back some memories of guys from the earlier 2ks 😅 MCW and Evans were so goated
frrr
especially for me because I was trash at making jump shots
Good stuff my man 👍👍
preciate you g!
Just to nit pick, Tyreke’s comeback wasn’t over prime D Rose. It was sophomore season D Rose. Rose and Evans were both one and done players at Memphis in back to back years.
These stories really take a lot of research for and commitment thanks for the vid this tells the cold truth about being a athlete
Preciate you for watching!
shouldve added andre ingram
you right!
I think having Tyreke banned from the league but guys like giddy can just play is such a slap in the face
@Lockdown K you forgot to mention JLin won a chip with Raptors. I’m still in disbelief he won a championship title before CP3 have one 😅🥲😂
Lin should have been playing in NBA
Bynum footwork is underrated.
you can add TJ Warren to the one hit wonder. he was dubbed as the Michael Jordan of the NBA Bubble. too bad he was plagued with injuries
That Bubble Warren was literally insane
"Aaron Brooks scored 34 on the Mamba"
*shows 2 clips of 6'0 Aaron Brooks scoring on Derek Fisher*
Jeremy lin really set the world on Fire without driving left
Nah Jeremy Lin was cold fr had real game
Larry Sanders was dope player
Great piece! My all-time NBA what-if is my buddy Kevin English? "Who??" you ask? All time leading scorer at the University of Hawaii, and only played for three years. Back then, bigs didn't shoot threes in the NBA. Would love to see what he could've done in today's NBA landscape. Still, he had a successful career in Europe. Makes the whole province of Newfoundland and Labrador proud.
can't say i've ever heard of him! Will need to do some research!
i think jeremy Lin is still a good role player or six man in todays nba, however he could never stay healthy so the league eventually gave up on him
Tyreke Evans was gonna be a baller. Great video.
Brooks a hood legend
Love your stuff, suggestion, a look at 1979 the first year of the 3 point line.
If I could integrate that with another idea I think that would be amazing! Just don't think I'll want to make a 30 min video just about that, but I do appreciate the suggestion!
@@LockdownK maybe intigate it as the last year of KAJ and maybe other major rule changes. Like the expansion of the key and end of the no dunk rule
Hmmmmmm, lemme think about it and see what I can cook up!
Very Interesting perspective & Narrative
Thank you!
