The Stephen Curry ankle healing by Mark Jackson's congregation is low-key hilarious. But the Warriors were mad about him using his injured ankle in this story. From Marcus Thompson's book: They took off his shoes and socks, anointed his ankle with oil and prayed for healing. The parishioners lifted their voices in chants and amens, calling on God to bless one of His Christian ambassadors. Service at Jackson’s church was much more passionate and engaging than Curry was used to back in Charlotte. But he humbly accepted the blessing that was being offered and returned to his seat with a smile on his face. “Where you going?” Desiree asked the star point guard in front of the congregation. Curry responded with his go-to look of bewilderment, a half smile and widened eyes. He thought he was supposed to return back among the flock when she was done. “You don’t get a blessing from the Lord and just walk off!” she shouted. “Show us you believe in the power of God.” It took Curry a second to understand what she meant. Then the old Bible stories rushed to his mind. Like when Jesus healed the lame man at the Pool of Bethesda, that man had to pick up his mat and walk. If he believed he was healed, he needed to show it. So Curry started shimmying and hopping on his right foot, much to the delight of the congregation. “I didn’t know what else to do,” Curry said.
hey, aside from switching to UA, Steph was healed ever since and his last major injury didn't even involve his ankle, he has been reliable for the past 10 years.
My basketball team was at the same hotel as mahmoud abdul-rauf and the Nuggets when I was 13. We were told to stay off their floor, so I immediately snuck up, hoping to bump into a player. A door opened as I passed, and it was Abdul-Rauf with a tray of half-eaten food from the previous guest. I said "wow, the hotel didn't clean it?" He said, "yeah, they just missed it." I asked "are you going to call someone?" He said, "no, I don't need to bother them. I'm just going to put it in the hall." That really showed character, and although we talked a couple minutes that's all I remember. Just from that interaction and the vibe I got, when the controversy unfolded, I wasn't surprised that it was him that would take a principled and unorthodox stand based on his values. Coincidently, I also talked to John Carlos a decade later, giving him my seat at a bar/restaurant.

Freedom of speech only prevents you from facing legal consequences for the majority of things you say or write. Though there are even some limitations (including, but not limited to incitement, defamation, fraud, obscenity, fighting words, and threats.) The first amendment however, doesn't prevent you from facing financial and/or social consequences. You can legally say (almost) anything, but that doesn't mean you can't be blacklisted and/or pushed out of the league .
Like the other comment stated, not how freedom of speech works. Those only work against the government. NBA is a privately owned business so they can do whatever they like.

Jonathan Isaac essentially works for Daily Wire in his off time. If Enes Kanter was good, he’d still be in the league. Tbh, you can make the argument Jonathan Isaac shouldn’t be in the league either.
Not at all close to being the same thing. Parroting right wing talking points is completely fine in corporate America. Kanter was calling out corruption, which is the total opposite.
When talking abt Abdul you said “goes to show how much the league has grown in such a short time” yet I don’t agree, especially with how they tried doing Kyrie during the whole covid vaccine and movie link situation
It’s hard to believe Jackson never got another job because of his contrast to the players. Freedom went out the same way as Whiteside while talking about social issues.
He had hard pressure on players to do his religious thing. Bogut was highly outspoken about this though. what really irritated a lot of people was firing and demoting people in the organization who weren't on his "team".
@@XavierBlackburn777enes didn't perform incredibly well the last years he had a contract. On teams performing well he would be a distraction, on teams in the middle, they would rather play younger guys and develop. How do you ban someone from NBA events? They don't ask to see an ID when you go. All he would have to do is shave his goatee and not give his name to anyone. So dumb.
It wasn't that the league was conservative. It never has been, really. In the 90s, there was an extreme delineation between the game and the real world. There is still a pervasive rumor Jordan was released from the league due to his gambling becoming a big story. It wasn't about politics. It was about trying not to fracture the fanbase. The 90s were good for the league, but they couldn't afford that level of division. They still can't really notice how quickly the league dropped the super woke stuff after a year? It's not a coincidence. Divisive political issues do nothing but harm businesses, especially if the business is seen to take a divisive stand. It was more self-preservation than any kind of moral or ethical stance

kanter couldn’t even stop a pick n roll in wheelchair basketball. that’s why he’s not in the league
A nba weekly re-cap with news would be dope.
Heard that!
"he could give it to you any way you want it" woah what!
lollllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
Enes was 100% blacklisted because of his valid criticism of Turkey and China. But hey, money talks.
Still don't know why Mark Jackson is blacklisted from the NBA or let go from commentary job. He did every job professionally yet...
A lot of people forget that Kap was trash for like 2 years before the knee.
People are already copying your formats, larger channels. You’re doing good man.
Preciate you chief!
Great content
Great Video Bro! Your gonna be big man I just know it
Preciate you G!
Enes Freedom was complete and utter hypocrisy, he would interview about not getting endorsed by shoe brands because of the issues in Turkey then he makes petitions about them years later cause they won’t sign him? Make that make sense
@pewptypants1 a brainlet like you can’t comprehend 🙄
I can not believe that you (as a black man) think Lebron has used his platform for activism. Is that what we call activism these days? The bar is apparently set way too low. Btw- looks nothing like Clay
Great vibes from dude, subscribed
Another great video!!❤
Glad you liked it!!
@@LockdownK I been wanting to ask btw to who is your favorite basketball player of all time?
5 players come to mind
1.Derrick Rose - I think my first basketball shoes were his even though i couldn't fit them
2.Jeremy Lin - Because Insanity was crazy
3. J.R. Smith - Always Liked the way his shot looked and I liked that he took tough shots
4. Swaggy P - Always wanted my shot to look like his
5. Draymond Green - When I play games, I feel like my play style is closest to his

We could just draw a concatenated line thru history of stories like Hodges in sports and we should
Do it. Weekly series would be nice.
Love the videos bro fr🙏🙏
Glad you are liking them chief!
I love how Freedom was on the Laura Ingraham show. I wonder if she wanted him to "shut up and dribble" or did that only apply to LaBron.
Mark Jackson most definitely prep the table for Stephen Kerr to eat. He was definitely blackballed! Great coach; Great player; Great broadcaster. He didn't bend over for the good ole boys.
Fake Klay is a head shorter than actual Klay. How they can't see that?😂
A lot of empty front row seats at the WNBA games.
Freedom of speech until you say something they don’t like
Freedom of speech only prevents you from facing legal consequences for the majority of things you say or write.
Freedom of speech is an illusion
I would love the recap videos! I don’t have cable or league pass so it’s a little tricky to keep up with everything that’s happening
Heard that!
Same problem here, dude. But since Twitter became X it's usually easy to find someone streaming (quality obviously varies)
Bro I was watching a lot of vids just now realized I’m not a sub, my bad now I’m. Great content ❤it. I thought you have mills of subs, only 18k…damn that’s low. Anyway salut from Würzburg 🇩🇪✊🏼
Vielen Dank!
@@LockdownK Gerne!
Pete rose not being in the hof is absolutely despicable and the entire sport should be ashamed
You actually Missed the most Prolific Banned Player Ever.. I don't know his name it's a behind the glory episode about this 5'11 guy scoring over 100 points multiple times in college but 😞 he was gambling and was banned... Can you find his name the team jersey was red and dude was black look like a stocky Damon stadamire
Enes Freedom def is not in the NBA because of his play style and his age and he’s not as good anymore and because of his comments
Salute to you for Giving Craig Hodges his props ( Chicago's Lands Very Own). Yeah he was definitely was black balled for giving that letter to ole buddy on that visit white house Visit, Somebody Sent out the memo to cut him off
I went to school with OJ Mayo had 3 classes with him and played basketball with him.
I saw him some years ago, it was a bit after the NBA thing. He was walking around town...
I also hung out with Patrick Patterson who went Pro as well, he went to the same school as me.
Weebs and hooping the most interesting combo
That's really cool! What was he like in school?
So you know Bill " SKY" Walker too ?
9:47 Enes Karter did the unforgivable: calling out LeChina
none of the bans were as deserved as the ban of sterling
Lol Sterling was the goat for those comments
@@icantsneed9635 Don the Man
Why do athletes feel the workplace is the place to bring your outside issues? Bet if they were making $17 an hour they wouldn't be so emboldened.
Sterling once said that he saw everyone who played on the Clippers as his slaves💀
Isn’t Ben Shapiro associated with it
Freedom’s case is so weitd
When talking abt Abdul you said “goes to show how much the league has grown in such a short time” yet I don’t agree, especially with how they tried doing Kyrie during the whole covid vaccine and movie link situation
expose lebron and a mega corporation's hypocrisy then you get blackballed by the world
It’s hard to believe Jackson never got another job because of his contrast to the players. Freedom went out the same way as Whiteside while talking about social issues.
He had hard pressure on players to do his religious thing. Bogut was highly outspoken about this though. what really irritated a lot of people was firing and demoting people in the organization who weren't on his "team".
@@GregWhite2014 oh, no wonder Jackson, Freedom can’t get NBA opportunities
@@XavierBlackburn777enes didn't perform incredibly well the last years he had a contract. On teams performing well he would be a distraction, on teams in the middle, they would rather play younger guys and develop. He was never a difference maker on any team he played in, so why invite the headache?
@@Unqualifiedtake performance matters
To be banned for speaking out is wild
You'd agree with banning any player if he was saying things you didn't agree with.
who did that happen to?
@@MethSloth Enes Kanter
@@legendarywiimaster he is not banned lol.
@@MethSloth he hasn’t been signed though
Politics really is dangerous, it needs to go NOW, the biggest divider and it seems to be showing in the league tight now (more prominent in 2020)
Are you going to Mention Fake KLAYS Creator name? BIG DAWS - HE actually gives away a lot of money and does some great things!
The Warriors got mad about Shaqtin and got mad about Fake Klay. I get it but also man that's kinda sad. No fun.
