Tbh it's starting to seem like Jakob is more capable of setting the 1500m world record than winning another 1500m world title 💀💀
I
Absolutely. He may be the best runner if pacemakers are to be used. Nobody wants to do that for him in worlds, he doesn't have the hottest last 100m out of his 1500m competition, it's not the race he should expect to win
@@Ougagagoubou Every single champion from 2016 ut until today has not been able to defend their title/win multiple titles
He's still ahead of he's three rivals though
Jakob: 5 championships, 3 medals, one gold, two silvers
Kerr: 5 championships, 3 medals, one gold, one silver, one bronze
Hocker: 3 championships, one medal, one gold
Nuguse: 2 championships, one medal, one bronze
I agree minus the weird emojis
ngl i’m kinda surprised that he hasn’t gone ahead and gotten the 5k. i feel like that should be the easiest for him
I think since he knows he can break it he's holding out on it since the lower distance events are easier the younger you are
That is true. The training is slightly different.
He's only broken the distances that dont get run that much
This guy has a full blown exact plan!!
How is that high jump record still standing??? Amazing!!!
Peds
8 feet imo, will never go any higher. At least in my lifetime
Barshim and Bondarenko are the only people that have even come close
Jakob runs 3k quicker than most people can run 2k 😂 i claimed in about 2018 that jakob is the only person in history whos capable of world records from the 1500-marathon. And it looks like hes genuinely going for it
Hicham's 1500m WR is a seriously underrated record. Sub 55s laps is insane
My favorite is the Mile, the finish is just legendary
I don't think he'll break the half marathon or marathon world records in his career, but my money's on him holding all other 8 records at one point or another in the next decade.
That’s kind of what I’m thinking too. I hope like hell that he gets all 10 because it would just be so absolutely unbelievable, but I just don’t know about the longer races.
He will break the half marathon record easy.
1500 Meters - 3:25.78
1 Mile Run - 3:41.93
3000 Steeplechase - 7:47.88
5000 Meters - 12:34.91
10,000 Meters - 26:09.36
Half Marathon - 1:01:09.61
Marathon - 2:04:31.54
By 2030 Season Ending
For Ingebrigtsen to break the 1500m world record, he would need to run each 400m lap in 0.2 seconds faster than he's done before. That's certainly achievable. I think he'll do it.
First 3000m indoor than 5000m outdoor he's middle endurance is godly.
1500m sprint? Only Jacob would call it that!!
Dear TRP, I remember all your predictions from way back when. It has been INCREDIBLE to watch Jakob smash those predictions, getting better every year. He is ready for the 15 WR now. He will take it by 2026. Conditions have to be just right. I do believe he would have broken the 15 record this year, had he run that in Silesia instead of the 3K. If he stays healthy - always a big if - he will take all the records up to 10K.
The 3k was an important record though. They don’t come around as often. I honestly think he just wanted to race something different and erase any notion that Komen’s records were untouchable.
crazyy 🤯
amazing
I think we could see the 1500/800 and 400 WRs fall next year thanks to Jakob, Wanyanye and Tebogo
He will likely get them all. He could get the 5 & 10 right now with his current fitness. I said three years ago he will eventually crack 3:26 and break the mile by a full second or more.
My all time marks predictions
1500m - 3:25.87 WR
Mile - 3:43.73 Same PB
Steeple - 7:52.65
5,000 - 12:34.92 WR
10,000 - 26:10.70 WR
Half - 57:48
Marathon - 2:03:20
HAHAHAHA
where did these numbers come from? your ass?
I’m almost sure than Jakob can go below 3.25
Bro If Jakob is going for the 5k and 10k world records he's beating them by more than half a second
My favorite WR period is still Usain Bolt's 9.69 from 2008 Beijing. Man the way he won that was so cool🔥🔥.
My favorite currently standing WR is Karsten Waholms 45.94
I agree but Sydney's new 400 hurdles record at the Paris Olympics was very special. The only track WR broken at the Paris Olympics.
@@keithbate9405 "The only track WR broken at the Paris Olympics" Well that is just wrong!
I want to see him run the 3000m steeplechase.
😳
My guess is that he’ll get the 1500 then the mile then the 5000 then the 10,000 then the 3000 steeple then the half marathon and he will never get the marathon.
@@JacobAlcock-p6p why don’t you think he’ll break the marathon world record
He can do it.
Jakob
Even though they’re both juiced records my favourites are still the women’s 200 and 400
AGE 24 is the PERFECT AGE for male runners to set World Records!🔥🔥🔥
U need to TRAIN SPECIFICIALLY for the event for Months...
WHY he failed so badly in 1/2 Marathon - NO specific training.
👏👏👏
Going for the 1500 WR certainly makes the mile WR possible.
Jakob 1st to break 2 hour marathon. You heard it here first.
Obviously any predictions are difficult, but some of these would just be wild guesses. With running having such a high genetic component for success, it is impossible to tell whether or not Jakob will be a good marathon runner with no previous history. Just because he has the combination of genetics, training, nutrition and dedication to be amazing at the shorter distances doesn't guarantee future success at longer distances. We have seen many athletes past and present move to the longer distances with great success as they get deeper into their career, so it is somewhat of a good predictor that he should at least be fairly competitive, but there is a big gap between fairly competitive and Kelvin Kiptum level.
That said, I think Jakob has plenty of time to improve his 1500m and mile far enough to break both WR's and the 5000m should be possible, assuming no-one else moves the goal further before he gets there. After that, I think it's impossible to predict, but the 3000m Steeple Chase may suit him quite well and seems like an easier WR, despite Kiplimo's Half Marathon having a lower score.
He’ll need Kerr and Hocker to break 1500m WR… 5000m WR is more realistic…
Answer to the question the 800m 1600m and the marathon are my favorite world records
I also think he'll break the 5,000 world record, but that'll likely be in 2026. I don't think he has the full range beyond the 10K, but I hope he proves me wrong.
It’s so frustrating how little you mention how the shoes affect times. Jakob couldn’t have broken Komen’s wr with the same shoes that Komen had.
He has a solo Doc? Damn. Well deserved.
Because of the nature of running is a narrative driven endeavor.
The 50,000 runners in Berlin know what happened. The rest of us have to be told what happened.
Unless one participates in non strategic games the whole of one's life one believes runners are born not trained and developed.
One is fast or not fast. Most people believe.
That is the view of the person who tried it and gave up. The person who does not give up understands it is a Drosophila melanogaster in a bottle process. Little changes produce the slightest results we all see in final races. Except for the wind there are few externalities.
Because human error does not play a role in general we who watch do not know what we saw after 60 meters or over day long competitive runs. For example unless one rides a bike hundreds of miles a month, month in a month out the Tour de France is none sense. Unless one has run at least a half Marathon a Marathon is none sense. (Athletics is so demanding it kills it's fan base😂).
Therefore, the participants themselves do not know what they saw either. We know who won but no one knows why.
The narrative is what drives athletics. What I hate most is to hear one person tell me what happened in an event when the only thing they saw was who crossed the line first.
The myth that runners are born fast must be set aside and analysis of pre race factors and the results across the board have to come into popular parlance.
It is kind of like watching other sports but tossing the weather report and the injury report in the trash. While point shavers were running the bases. The final score would indicate very little. Right?
Nostradamus thank you for being all about the narrative. And athletic fans thank you for putting the narrative before all other considerations.
How one won is more important than that one won. 👏 Bravo!
1500: 3:24.72
5000: 12:30.95
Mile: 3:41.88
Half: 57:00
Man's 1500 WR will be the most evenly split race in existance 💀
It's a mistake to say that the record was made in Silesia Poland.
The meating was in Chorzów in the region called Silesia.
It's like saying for instance that it was in California USA when in fact it was in San Francisco.
I can't stand the dude as a person, but sometimes ya gotta give the devil his due. He's an all-timer.
He is just to 0.73 sec . With a little wind in his favor and he takes another $50,000
You got to question the actual timing of el gerrouge could of easily been half a second out
he'll get all the wr apart from the marathon
he will break them all barring 10k
1:25 - 1:28 DAMN DID YOU REALLY??
3.25.88 jakob 2025 🔜
rooting for him
First
Oh, billy!!!
3:25.86 and 12:32
As long as he runs hard every race and not showboat before the finish line he can get these records. Quit being cocky because that's bad karma.
9.58
1500m 3.26.1
Mile 3.40.2
5000m 12.31
10000m 26.05
Half 56.30
Marathon 2.01.00
Steeple ?
You do realise that for Ingebrigtsen to run 3:40.2 in the mile he'd have to split 3:25.X for 1500m? 3:40.2 pace averages to 3:25.24 for 1500. Unless he had some crazy negative split in the final 109m.
My prediction is he'll hold all of 7 WRs(maybe 8) out of the 10 mentioned. Don't think he can break the 10k(maybe), half-marathon and marathon records.
On the side note, its insane how we are talking about the possibility that someone will be holding 7-10WRs.
Jakob is just out of this world!!!
no los va a tener simultaneamente, pero cdo llegue a los 35 años es probable que los haya tenido a todos, seguramente baje las 2hs en un maraton comercial, creo que el que se le va a hacer mas diicil es el de 21k, por el caracter inestable que tiene
all of this new tech is just making me wonder how good the greats if the 1990s would have done if they had those benefits
They had other benefits... 😉
@@pheel.the.fletcher tbf now thats assuming they aint on stiuff now which is a high possibility you just cant prove it YET
Drug test him 2:53
lol, he's drug tested every time he races and at multiple random times when he's not racing
@@ZATHURAKEY he has the Lance Armstrong
I think this guy is overestimated.
How so?
What's his real 1500 metre time without supershoes, a Mondo track or wave light technology. Asking for a friend, El Guerrouj...lol
Let’s be honest, there is a huge asterisk next to any runner from North Africa. Algerian, Moroccan and Libyan as well as Tunisian runners get found out for doping all the time or are highly suspicious. The doping in the 1990s were very prevalent, put two and two together.
Said aouita was a doper, mahklofi as well, We shall see when the blood testers can test even older blood.
Totally agree! 3:26.00. The true record!
@@gabrielsteffensen3700 better training is far more effetcive than steroids, look at ben johnson, roided to the gills and better training stompped all over it
@username.exenotfound2943
Correlation does not equal causation. Besides, look at the 10 fastest time in the world ever in the 100m, look up how many got caught doping.
Your comment basically says el guerrouj is okay to dope since a shoe has been released lol. You really think epo can be looked upon the same way as a shoe and pace lights?
Besides, 100m is not 1500m. Totally different fields but again, better training isn’t better than doping, only if dopers train poorly, which el guerrouj didn’t do, so it’s irrelevant
Idk if this is unpopular take, but I really don't care about these irregular races. If race isn't done in worlds, it's not a competitive race with equivalent WRs. Mile, 2 mile, 3000m, 2 mile, I don't blame him if he gets paid to break these WRs but beating these is not comparable to 1500, 5k etc. Still waiting for first WR he'd do, and mile is not going to be one I count.
In any case if he believes he can contest the hardest WRs, I expect him to focus on 1500 first, as it makes sense to move on to longer races as he ages. Maybe he is 5k/10k runner in '28. Get 1500 out of his system in next few years.
I agree with you, and your opinion is not as unpopular as you think it is
Records set with WaveLights should have an asterisk. It's a gimmick, and the records are much less remarkable for it.
Could easily argue the same for the shoes which are clearly more advantageous to an elite efficient runner. What's the ballpark improvement for these 2%?
Nope. He had aregawi with him, keljelcha faded hard. Records are paced plain and simple.
Yeah I gotta agree with Pete, personally I think the windbreak from a pacer is more beneficial than the exact accuracy of lights.
