I saw your other videos....will definitely log on for the next video .....you've ignited my interest John!! ....pining for the next one! Good to see James is a "chip off the old block"! 😂
Good morning Mr Locker. Just a little idea for you. You can also use all your sawdust from making these stoves as fire starter. Melt a bunch or wax or tree sap, mix it in with the sawdust. Then you can shape them into any shape you want and let them cool. Works really well. Again thanks for all you share with us!!
This is an ingenious way to make fire if you dont have a lot of wood for the campfire and need to cook up something. You can call it for a way to survive :D To make a fire starter you can also take a newspaper roll it hard together, tie some string around it and soak it in candle wax, let it dry and then cut it up in nice section for a briquette. Just a tip :D Have a good one mate
Awesome! When making one of these, I think I would do the axial bore, lightly pack with the sawdust, then run one or more wire coat hanger lengths down, dribble melted paraffin wax into the cavity. Let cool, remove the wires, and THEN do the radial bore, making it slightly above the depth of the axial bore to leave a small reservoir at the bottom. Could probably light one of these in the driving rain.
Great video showing something SO simple, SO easy to use & SO practical. The longer the cook you need the thicker the log you use. Never seen these before but a great idea that I can use on a picnic. Thanks for sharing this great tip. Don from South Aust.
These are great, thanks. I can't find the video of your lobster pots as shown in the thumb print, can you please do a video showing us how you make them and show you using it to catch something, thanks.
John, is it better to use hardwood for the rocket stoves? Jacob Tschida has a great idea about using the sawdust, left over from making the rocket stoves, to make fire starters. What a great idea. Excellent survival equipment, the stoves and fire starters. I live in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada and I just love your videos. You make a great survival instructor. Maybe you could make a video strictly about finding and preparing plants to eat. You show how to cook the seafood you catch. Just a thought. Love you and your family. Wish you would put your daughter on a few videos. Just another thought.
nice... would take the flame faster if u stuffed the top with dry grass or hay and then let the wood with the wax do its thing ;) ... im gonna give one of these a go thanks showing me how ... now to buy a chain-saw :P
Hi there. I was wondering if you know the trick to take off the soot of the bottom of your pots, pans, etc. You put a thin film of dish soap on the pot ar pan before cooking on the fire. Makes for easy washing at clean up, so you don't have to worry about getting things all black when you pack up. Just a little something my parents did when we went fishing and had a shore lunch, or went camping. Cheers 😊🇨🇦
Very similar to the Swedish log stove John, have you tried one? Would like to know the comparison...great camping video b4 btw, diving looked bloody awesome (chips looked ok 😉)
Good one John - I've seen & heard of these Rocket stoves before, but never seen anyone make one, so that was interesting, especially seeing it produce enough heat to boil shellfish! You really need to get Hannah to shave your hairy legs - you wouldn't get so much sawdust stuck in your 'Leg Wigs'! 😂😂😂
- Here is a recent camping trip where we use the Rocket stoves to cook with. 😊👍🏻🔥ua-cam.com/video/sJagPuMrnnE/v-deo.html
Guys like you are the ones making UK great. Thanks for the videos
i know i'm terrible but I couldn't help giggling at James, My daughter was the same way when she was little. She had to touch EVERYTHING!!

Good tutorial Locker. Thanks 👍🏼
Good job, Thank you for turning the sound down at the right times!
If you add a handful of the sawdust, it makes it easier to light with the burning strip of waxed wood or other firestarter.
Thank you for the excellent info!!
Given ideas for when out cracking video mate, great getting little man involved too 👍👍rocking his safety goggles

Safety first! :-)
When you going to start selling hat's and shirts w/ Fish Locker on them!
Really nice video John. Where do you get your wood for them from?
Im guessing the logs must be seasoned wood John ( why not pour a little wax down the main whole first M8)
Would be great for night fishing.
Do you recommend taking the bark off or can you leave it on
Great cooker do you drill both sides as on top?
no stop in the middle Larry
Hi, did i miss what kind of wood you use for the stove? Or did that not matter for a stove.

That boy is a weight lifter in the making. I dont see the number of likes and dislikes on this video. Is there a problem with your account?
