  • This video describes why I am making this channel. How I will video and document my progression as a woodworker from beginner to pro (hopefully pro). I will describe tool purchases and explain why certain tools were chosen over others. I will also describe shop set up and organization. I will give tool reviews. I will video specific projects and describe step by step instructions on how to do it yourself.

When it's time to upgrade to a wider jointer, may I suggest you consider a quality combo jointer-planer? With a wise selection of machinery, you can get, say a 10" or 12" planer and get the jointer included for a trivial amount more. Of course, the downside is having to switch modes from one to the other, but for a budget, it's a pretty good way to get lots more bang-for-the-buck.

I definitely want to upgrade my jointer as it is only a 6 inch. Thanks for the suggestion. I will keep that in mind. But I think that kind of investment is a ways off.
