Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is based on the manga series by Koyoharu Gotoge published under SHUEISHA's JUMP COMICS, which consists of 23 volumes and over 150 million copies in publication. The animation production is by ufotable.
The story begins when Tanjiro Kamado, a boy whose family is killed by a demon, joins the Demon Slayer Corps to turn his younger sister Nezuko back into a human after she is transformed into a demon. In April 2019, the TV anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba first premiered with the Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc, followed by the release of the feature film Mugen Train in October 2020, and the TV series Mugen Train Arc and Entertainment District Arc from 2021 through 2022.
Starting in February 2023, the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba To the Swordsmith Village World Tour kicked off, followed by the TV adaptation of the Swordsmith Village Arc airing in April. In February 2024, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba To the Hashira Training was released in movie theaters worldwide featuring a special theatrical screening in over 140 countries and regions - surpassing the previous year's release. With the TV adaptation of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc began streaming in May 2024.

@@erssey6168 i think the first movie will cover Tanjiro, Giyuu vs Akaza, Zenitsu vs Kaigaku, And maybe the entire douma fight. 2nd movie might be Obanai and Mitsuri's fight , Kokushibo's fight and The Infinity castle collasping. 3rd movie will cover everything else
Different directors and staff (tho as Ufo is most inhouse, the productions lines share animators). You should expect Mahoyo movies to have the same quality as HF, and Kimetsu to be like Mugen Train (maybe a little better, hope Shirai is going to be unit director for climax scenes in the movies)

I made a comment on last weeks episode explaining the rest of the story and format for the remaining content. It contains spoilers for everything, and I've edited it now that we know we're having 3 movies. I originally said that the movies would be too short to make everything work, but I've adjusted for that. Spoilers below read at your risk 🫡
We don't know how long each movie will be. It doesn't seem likely that everything will fit into the runtime. I'm thinking though, the 3 movies will be more on the higher side like 10 hrs. Each movie being 3+ hrs.
SPOILERS BELOW ABOUT THE REST OF THE ENTIRE STORY and a lot of reading 💀💀
TL:DR - Fight 1, 2 and half of 3 is the 1st movie. The rest of fight 3 and fight 4 is the 2nd movie. Fight 5 is it's own movie.
1. realistically Kaigaku's aka new UM 6 (Also the guy who let the demon into the house this ep) fight with our thunder boi would be 2-3 episode (about 45 mins to an hour).
2. Prior to that fight was UM 2 vs Shinobu. That fight would also be 2- 3 episode. They're both really short but I think the anime will expand on them.
EDIT: Fights #1 and #2 are reallly short. More like one episode each but knowing Ufotable, they can expand it to 2-3 episodes of content.
3. Then there's Akaza fight with Tanjiro and Giyu, which will be 5 or 6 ep (about 2 hrs).
4. Next is the full fight with UM 2 vs Inosuke and Kanao which will be about 4-5 ep (roughly an hour and 45 mins). Then there's the scuffle with Kanroji and Obanai vs new UM 4. At best that fight is 1 ep if not a little more past that before Yushiro takes over UM 4's mind.
5. Lastly UM 1 vs stone, wind, mist Hashira and Genya. That fight is the longest being 8 episodes worth of content (2 hr & 40 mins to 3 hrs). Then the continued scuffle with new UM 4 and everyone coming to the surface (about 50 mins). With that done that's the entire infinity castle arc.
So, with all that info fight #1, #2 and half of #3 will be adapted to the first movie. The second movie will finish fight #3 and fight #4. The 3rd movie will be fight #5.
The final battle with Muzan is even longer than the UM 1 fight, which is about 10 or 11 episodes. That has to be 3 - 4 hrs to finish up everything and there are only 3 movies. So with that the sunrise countdown arc will be it's own movie or another season 🔥
EDIT: With the muzan fight, a large part of it is backstories for the remaining Hashira or expansion of other backstories. However, with the fighting part of the last arc, they could shorten it down a bit and allude to the fact everyone was fighting for the past hour. So the muzan fight aka sunrise countdown arc & conclusion arc, would more likely be 2-3 hrs.
Considering that we have 3 movies to work with, things are going to be dramatic and quick or drawn out a bit more, making each movie 3+ hrs like i said before. Also, since we were getting movies, i deleted a whole paragraph about the remaining content just being seasons.

If you're wondering how I came to this conclusion and estimate of all the episodes, I just read the manga and scaled it to how much time each episode is. About 2 chapters = 1 episode. So, for example, fight #1 with Kaigaku vs Zenitsu is 3 chapters which are a small part of 143, 144, and half of 145. Technically it should be one episode but I feel like they can add enough scenes to it to be 2-3 episodes.

…..it’s 3 movies, Mugen train was about 2 hours, sure it prob won’t have everything but I don’t think it will be that much of a lack of info lost. It’s like lord of the rings. Actually these movies will have a better situation from Lotr because it won’t be the entire series but just one arc. Even if that arc is massive it still will be amazing. Just my idea
If a movie is 1hr 50 mins of 2hrs, then that means it'll cover 6 episodes worth of content.
Three movies=18 episodes
The Infinity Castle (only this arc. not Sunrise) should have like 16-17 episodes, so that pretty much fits.
Guys the arc itself is 40+ chapters, they atleast need 25+ episodes, or else it'll be of no good. Also waiting for 3 years for a single arc will die down the hype mark my words. They should have waited for another extra year and released it in episodes all together in a single year. It would have been the best approach. But money won here.
