- Rare video of a Dealership in Minnesota in 1993. I went there specifically because I heard they had 93 Cobra's on the lot priced to sell. They also had 1 on the showroom floor. Along with Lightning's, SHO's and many other 93' Mustangs! I wish I pulled the trigger and bought 1 of the Cobra's for $17,500, looking back that was a steal!
Amazing how different the dealerships and car buying experience is today.
No Internet back then you went down and saw the cars in person.
Great video. Brings back memories of when I had a 5.0 Foxbody
Awesome video man. I was 12 when these came out and instantly fell in love with the red Lightning’s. Nostalgia just hit me in the feels watching this, from the shoulder camera to the old school fords brand new on the lot! Thank you for posting this.
Man, Ford was killing it in 1993!! Lightnings, Cobras, SHOs?!!! Such iconic future classics all from one manufacturer! That’s why Ford is the best and why I only support them.
I was a 24 year old drooling over the 93 Cobra when I shot this video! I use to go by this SVT dealership all the time just to see what they had that week... I was surprised I kept that footage for so long! All the Mustangs on my channel except for the Teal 93 Cobra were mine. Many great memories.
ET Racing in 1993 I was 13 years old and my cousin let me drive his 88 red manual GT fox body. I fell in love and have been a massive fan even before that. I’m 39 now and I have a 97 cobra and are looking into owning a 03-04 cobra, or a 10-14 Shelby gt 500 soon. Family first but the minute I get the chance I’m all in.
@@SVTJD Very Cool! As far as an 03-04 Cobra (Terminator) my buddy that owned the Teal Cobra on this channel had an 03 Cobra redfire red. He modded it a bit and ran a 11.30 @ 122 with it before selling it. Good choice though if you go for it!
Miss those days
Man I wish I could go back to the 90s and go to the dealerships and buy those cars brand new.
Awesome video !
I had a 94 Lighting in black. She ran strong and handled corners as good as a Mustang but road like a tank even with new shocks. My dad owned a 93 Cobra in red and I am currently in the market for one of those. A great all-round sports car.
I'm not crying, YOU ARE!!!
It’s just dusty in here man!
One of Fords best lineup of high performance vehicles!
Back when times were simpler kids would play outside tablets and smartphones didn’t exist. No computers in your car you either knew how to drive or didn’t.
Cars were better back, people can say what they want about the new technology it won’t ever change a thing in my book. You walk into a Ford dealership n want the new F150 n the damn truck has a standard 8 inch monitor wit all these buttons n standard options that i can careless about. Its like driving a computer on wheels theres no fun in driving anymore. Thats y i stuck to my old cars 90’s Cadillac Fleetwood n a Mustang GT
Awesome video, thanks for sharing! Thought I'd catch a glimpse of a Thunderbird SC but no such luck...
Great Video. Brings back fond memories.
My cars were also registered in "93.
I turned 16 in 92. A cousin of mine here owned a couple ford, chevrolet, Pontiac, and Mazda dealerships. When these came out they were sold only thru a few dealers. He bought 2. One was a show piece in the showroom an the other he took an drove for a few years. Those were some nice cars
Back then you had to be registered as an "SVT" dealership in order to sell all SVT vehicles. I test drove one of the Vibrant red cobras in the video twice but never pulled the trigger to buy one. REGRETS!
Wow, that's a cool throw-back video! I currently have a 93 Cobra in teal that was bought new from Schmerler Ford in Elk Grove Village, IL
Very nice! Check out our video page, my buddy had a Teal 93 Cobra. Raced it many time stock and again with tires and 3.55's. Ran a 12.9 @ 106 with traction!
Awesome video!!
Some 92 SHO's as well.
Awesome video. Wish we could go TF back.
what a gem of a video
at 2:19 in video that red cobra does not have a badge on the drivers front fender! Wonder if it was stolen a the lot, or it was missed at the assembly line. How cool. Thank you for the trip down memory lane. Ford was kicking asssss in 93!
Bet you never thought that almost 30 years later, people like me would be commenting on this slice of retro awesomeness. Ive owned a couple SHO's and it was cool seeing that white 93 with the white slicers and the used 91 and 92 you made sure to capture. We didnt realize how great things were in the 90s until we compare it to the hot mess 2020-2022 has been.
The good ole days...... I would do anything to be able to go back. I remember back then at every corner you would see a foxbody but now good luck....
I saw a notch back 5.0 calypso green just yesterday. I live in Michigan and it was snowing a bit. The car was salty and so dirty, and it looked daily driven lol
I’ve been riding my daily so far. Love it
TK TK wish I had the luxury. Michigan weather sucks lol. Soon!
Latnlvr yea, that rust would build up on that car so fast
I see Foxbody quite often where I live. Usually 1-2 a day. Sometimes 1-2 every few days. Rare I don't see more than 3-5 a week.
When this video was filmed I was 4 1/2 months old. I wish I could have experienced this era
Ben Frothingham Bloomington American Ford on I-494 Bloomington Minnesota - dealership location sold to Walser Automotive Group in 2004. I believe its a Toyota store now
Yep, one of a few SVT dealerships in the Twin Cities back then. I test drove one of the Vibrant Red 93 Cobras in the video, man they were nice and cheap!
Great video
$23k for a brand new Ford Lightning. Now a brand new Ford Raptor is like $75k. So when my 5 year old turns 16 and wants his first truck, it should be around $250k.
Such beauty ❤❤❤❤❤
Man i wish i can go back in time to get the cobras and lightings
I remember seeing a 93 Black Cobra in the lot at Lunenburg Ford in MA. Made my parents stop to look at it, just drooled all over the glass
I feel your pain Michael! In good way so to speak.
They've all been raced, beaten, modded and scrapped. The value is always going up on these.
Imagine being able to get a Shelby or Roush for $32k today..
Older Shelby’s going for around that but heavily used
Damn I was like 5 months old during this time now 30 years later I own a 1990 foxbody lx
I wish I could go back
I enjoyed the video! One minor thing to point out... Lightening and Lightning are 2 totally different things.
Wow, thank you....
Svt Mustangs and Taurus SHOs Nice
Get in mustang..looks around...opens ash tray lid...breaks immediately......
HAHAHAHA!!! I'm sure that has happened to plenty of people!
You still have your Ttop?
the camcorder he is using is the size of a well-fed cat.
Which dealership? I went to a dealership in Bloomington Minnesota to see a 2000 Cobra R in the showroom.
It was at American Ford in Bloomington. One of just a few SVT dealerships in town. It closed in 2004 and was replaced with Walser Automotive Group I believe. I use to stop there frequently in the 90's to drool over those cars! I am pretty sure that was where you saw the Cobra R!
I have a red with black cloth sold new from minisota. Do u remember if either 2 had black cloth. My car was built april 30th
I believe 1 was black cloth and the other was gray cloth. Hard to believe I recorded that 25 years ago!
What part of Minnesota
@@majorstrucking The first part of the video starts at Eden Prairie Ford (became Metropolitan Ford later) in Eden Prairie,MN . Then starting with the Red '93 outside was filmed at American Ford in Bloomington, MN. If you go on the 1993cobraregistry, someone will be able to tell you which dealer sold yours. Here is a quick list of all the original dealers listed for Minnesota (MN)
Multiple listing of the dealers name equals how many '93 cobra they sold.

Several dealers on this list were a different name back then. Airlake Ford was actually Farmington Ford in 1993. North Country was Art Goebel Ford as I recall. Metropolitan ford was Eden Prairie Ford.
If time travel was possible I would get a lightning or a cobra!
I think that's apple valley ford ? Like 20 min South of twin cities yuppy land with a top nation 10 h.s wrestling program . I was 10 when dude filmed this
Was there UA-cam in 93? Lol
😁🤦♂️
The closest was HBO and Skinimax! LOL
cars were so ugly then lol
Ur def high. Quite the opposite actually.
Opposite, cars are ugly as hell now, those cars a beautiful
We need a time machine, I need to go back! 🥲
I AM THE OWNER OF THAT BLACK FORD AT THE BEGINNING! STILL HAVE IT 😊
