Oh, didn't know you used to train on the Leo 2's in singapore! I have a friend who really wants to sign on for armour to drive or crew a tank. Any tips for him to avoid armoured infrantry? (AI) 🤣
Greetings from the home of the Leopard, good thing to see that our tanks are so popular. Sadly the german crew voices have a lot of errors in them (Like calling planes "Fighters", in german they are "Hunters")
Interesting video, I didn't know anything about this Leopard variant, so this filled any gaps in my knowledge. I wonder tho, how do you get so much gold on the dev server? I have read, that you can only get gold by buying it on the actual game server. I always wanted to test drive a lot of locked vehicles/aircraft, but of course I can't do it without gold. And seeing this ridiculous amout just makes me wonder :D
I speak hungarian, and the crew voices, are correct, nothing special tho, they say the same as the brits (and probably other tech trees too, but I don't speak their lenguages/ I don't play the usa)
Now that I know that you can depress the gun over the engine, it will annoy me a lot more. Like the damn useless Minenbecher on the Tiger H1. Either give my a dumb gimmick tool to kill milk trucks around corners, or let me unscrew them, dammit.
Loading position or "Gun salute" isnt something that the Abrams does because the gun sits lower in the turret. I believe the manual loader has something to do do with it to. If I'm wrong feel free to correct me
Looking at the interior of the two, the Leopard definitely seems to have the breech located more centrally in the turret, so the available space for loading is more limited than in the Abrams. But then I've got no personal experience on M1s to know for sure
Hungarian voicelines are decent, but a bit half-assed... It does miss quite a fev things to say. That version of the KF-41 is not the same that is used by the HDF. Wrong turret. I'm pretty concerned about those arrow head shape turret what is the tank bounce and the round goes straight to the driver or the crew in the turret tho it's think that's one of the flaw of that shape
Yes, the term is called "shot traps"; any part of the tank that deflects shots into itself. In reality, it's not that big of a concern for the A5/A6 arrowhead since it's mean to dissipate HEAT. KE ammo still goes through. But that's where tactics come into play. It's much harder to hit a tank on a ridgeline and using terrain effectively.
The point of the armour is that if a APFSDS round hits it, it will be disturbed from its flight orientation by spaced armour, and impact that actual turret armour at an angle other than in line with its own force. This will promote the penetrator to shatter, rather than penetrate. Against old style AP, I don’t believe that the spaced armour is thick enough to actually cause such shells to deflect. However, even if it did? What does it matter? No one uses AP, APC, APCBC any more, and no one is going to develop it for a modern gun, on the off chance they have to face off against a Leopard 2, and in the ridiculous hope that they can get a shot off into the underside of the turret, at just the right angle that the shell deflects into the upper hull, and hopefully penetrates. That’s a lot of maybes, ifs, ands, buts, and far flung hopes, to make a shell for.
So, according to the devblog, the Obstacle Clearance Blade is just going to end up being another entrenching dozer blade... What a missed opportunity.
