You explain this so well, very clear and accurate, thank you. I just picked up a guitar for the first time in many years and you are helping drive my motivation forward.
Awesome lesson. Really helps in appreciating the crazy syncopathed samba rythms and groovy. Salutations from Brazil! By the way, that Dm9 chord is killing me! My little stubby fingers need some serious stretch to play those!
Many thanks man, it means a lot. Really appreciate it! Try to use 3rd and 4th finger at the bottom of the Dm9, should help. Make sure to subscribe for more if you haven't yet!
@@TheBeardedGuitarist No problem! And I was already using the third and forth fingers lol. The problem that I have is stretching the second finger all the way two frets down while keeping the 1st, 3rd and 4th fingers in place. D9 is fine, the extra stretch on Dm9 that I need to work on. But I think I am getting there :) Thanks, and already subscribed!
Thx for your response. My question was poorly worded I think. I would like to add additional chord progressions to this one in order to maybe make up a tune. I’m just not sure what chords to go to to complement this. I love Bossa Nova and appreciate your lessons. They are fabulous. Thx for any ideas.
The chords are easy, the picking sequence is easy but I cannot get the timing. I understand that it’s in 2/4 and the first bar begins “one and” and the second bar ends “two and” but I just can’t tell if the middle part is “two e and one e and” or “two and a one and a”. Neither sounds or feels right. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Love Bossa Nova ,hate Jazz ,but this Samba style always enjoy listening the famous names you mentioned ,you forgot Caetano Veloso that still plays with his sons ,great video ,more Samba Brazil tunes please

I love that you emphasized the mirroring and syncopation. Other teachers miss this aspect and it doesn’t sound sexy without it.
Thank you
