Where is the written ASV Delete Procedure shown in the video? I can't find it on your website. Also, you never mention why I would want to do this. What are the benefits and tradeoffs?

great system and a great company. I've installed them in every house I've owned!

If the permeate pump performs the same function, what’s the point of the ASV?

I removed mine. My system was not starting and stopping like it use too. I noticed it running all night long a couple of times. Seems like the ASV was failing to open and close. Its only been a couple of days but the RO system runs fine without the ASV. One upside is that the tanks get much fuller and the pressure/flow at the fridge water dispenser is now great. It was starting to take forever to fill a large water bottle. After a week the bad news is that TDS creep now occurs without the ASV. Back to installing a ASV but I'm going to try a 90% ASV versus a 60% one.

We used to carry the 90% ASV and can get one for you upon request. However, we discontinued it as a stock item, because most customers didn't care for how it impacted performance. The difference between the 90% and 60% ASVs, is about 30%. Haha just kidding. But seriously, the 90% ASV will allow the tank to empty nearly completely - to about 90% empty, before it opens and allows the system to produce new water that goes to the storage tank, if the RO Faucet is closed, or is added to the system output if the RO Faucet is still open. The 90% ASV fulfills the permeate pump's wastewater reduction mission completely as the system operates more efficiently when its working against less tank back-pressure. The downside to that, is that as the tank fill level drops, so too does the pressure out of the RO Faucet. The tank output follows a normal linear curve - at 100% full it really belts out the water, and the flow rate tapers off as the level drops. This becomes apparent, if you move through your tank's water a glass or quart at a time. If you drain the tank completely each time you use it, then you won't notice a difference.

@@ThePerfectWater I installed a 90% shutoff and the performance was as you described. When full the flow at the RO faucet was great but over time as the tank emptied the flow got worse and worse. Eventually the RO system tank would get low enough to begin filling again. My problem is that my RO faucet is through a fridge which only allows 1/4in tubing and it takes a long time to fill a water bottle. I'm sure 3/8in tubing to a faucet would fix the problem but I cant drill a hole for separate sink faucet.

@@markcarlson1696 Understood. My recommendation is to restore the maximum possible flow with the 60% ASV. Home Master RO systems carry a 5 year limited warranty. Call in and we will send one at no charge. The increase in wastewater will be minor...spend 1 minute less in the shower a week and you'll make up the difference.

Under what circumstance that we need to bypass the ASV? Will this make my filters last longer than 4 months? Seems like my filters only last 4 months Max. It's getting expensive to replace my filters every 4 months or less. My previous GE reverse Osmosis filters typically last over 10 months. Not sure why your filters only last 4 months?

The filters are sold separately as well as in sets. It could be that you just need to change your sediment filter more frequently, and not the whole set. Please reach out to our support team and we will ensure you get the right tool for the job. Please call 877-693-7873.

This is like watching a japanese movie with english voice over except with a 30 second delay. Very hard to follow.
