Great how to. Thanks. I did this with my dementia client as a hands on easy creative activity. We picked the cones up on our daily walk. Then I baked them and cut them and had her paint them colors her choice and she laid them out in the bouquet design she wanted and I got glued them on. Her family and visitors just love it. It hangs on her living room wall. She reminds me every day that she made that. This is a wonderful craft.
@@leeann9775 If your pinecones come from outdoors baking them kills any bugs that may be inside them. I always bring mine straight from outside to the oven.
Nothing wrong with talking! You are a great teacher! I talk like a parrot when i drink my shot of cuban cofffe. We all talk!!!! Go ahead n talk !!!
Love this craft. My Aunt lives in a piney area so we like to do crafts with her pinecones. This will be our Sunday after church craft corner soon hopefully.
Beautiful, the trees around my house are always dropping these. This would be a great weekend craft with the grandkids. I will have them cut and ready to paint. I may have to have a small glass of of wine so cheers to you 🥂Thanks 😊
I enjoy your videos. So, don't put too much thought into it. If people don't want to listen, they don't have to. Pine cone flowers are such a great idea! And they turned out beautifully 😊 *Also, I think these would be absolutely beautiful in wreaths! Natural or painted.
DrinkWineBeCrafty You’re most welcome! Thank you for sharing your gifts with us. That's so awesome, I hope you're having fun along the way. I can't wait to see them! ❤️😄
Researching before I try my hand at pinecone flowers. I’ve watched a lot of videos and keep coming back to your videos. Very well explained and your cutting and shaping technique makes sense. Thanks for sharing your artistic talents. Wish me luck!
Hi Ester! I'm so glad you found my channel as well. Thank you for all of your super sweet comments. it's so encouraging to have such positive feedback about my tutorials. 😊
Thank you, I'm gonna make these. I live in pine cone heaven and have started making pine needle baskets . I sometimes burn the older pine cones. I'm gonna subscribe
Have you ever tried using a power saw of some kind to cut the pinecones? Maybe my pruning shears aren't sharp enough, but it's killing me to cut these by hand, and I need to do a lot for a group project
You mention you bake the cones at 200 - is this 200 degrees celcius or 200 degrees Farenheit? If it is Farenheit, it would only be about 90 degrees celcius. A big difference :)
What kind of paint you use? I tried with acryl but my pine cone drink the paint very much... i don;t know what to do with...? And te color is also not this... just darker..
The pine cones I used I picked up outside at the park and they have bugs in them. If you put them in the oven on a low temperature it kills all bugs and they fall out. If you aren't using pine cones from outside you don't have to worry about baking them. I cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil and bake them for at least 30 minutes at 250.
@@BeCraftyWithMeganI read on google how to prepare pine cones for crafts…they said soak them in vinegar water to kill the bug….then bake! Well I think I’ll skip the vinegar water now after watching ur video…it stunk the house up “I hate the smell of vinegar” and it took them longer to bake to dry n get them to open up!

That’s amazing! Love what affect it had on your client!🧡. I wanted to ask, what does baking the pine cones do???

@@BeCraftyWithMegan definitely like that idea! What temp!
Thank you for showing how you paint them with acrylic paints I need to see everything in detail to catch on sometimes so thank you for doing that

It's 200 Fahrenheit. 😊
I love the flowers. I cleaned them painted them. But do I ad a stem.
You can add a stem to these. I like to use wooden skewers.
Am painting also the gum balls from my gum ball big tree . They come out beautiful true.
We also used sweet gum balls on our wreaths. They look nice and fill holes
Great videos!!
How do u get the pinecone to open up that much
Thank you!!! I bake my them for 30 minutes at 275 fahrenheit. I think that's what helps them open up so well.
They are beautiful! 💕💕
Also want to ask....I noticed after painting the pinecones, they close up....do you know if they will open up again?
Mine did not close up.
Talk all you want!!😊
So nice 😍
How do you cut the long skinny cones
Am your new susbscriber n will share.
What kind of paint you use? I tried with acryl but my pine cone drink the paint very much... i don;t know what to do with...? And te color is also not this... just darker..
I am a new recruit..just got the idea today and wondering where to look for guidance...you don't talk too much
You're so sweet! Thank you! 😊❤
❤❤❤❤
How do you deal with pine pitch?
Pine pitch? Never heard of that…can u explain
The pine cones I use don't have any pine pitch on them. I had to look up what it was. 😊
is it better to put them in the oven before? why is that?
