  • Well, it appears that there are endless opportunities to learn the art of bouncing back amidst hard times. Last evening offered me another one when a young uninsured driver barreled into the back of my car while awaiting for traffic to move. I saw her vehicle moving toward me in my rear view mirror far faster than it should have been. And then BAM! My one week old EV took a hit in the behind sending a jolt up my spine. Thank goodness we are both okay but my car will need some repair. And my insurance will likely take a hit. A heating pad on my back seems to be doing the trick.
Damn. I’m trying to see the silver lining in this one. If it’ll serve to reinforce to my new young driver that distracted driving creates a helluva mess for everyone, I’ll accept the lesson. But I’m sad nonetheless. I showed up an hour late for Tim’s celebration. It wasn’t quite how I expected his birthday would go.
When I put out the prayer request for my daughter’s safety behind the wheel, I forgot to include myself! Please pray for a bubble of protection to surround all of us here and for a kind insurance response, a speedy car repair, and for the uninsured driver who is surely suffering in the aftermath of a second accident in recent weeks. If I could replay yesterday, I would have remained a little more calm and collected and given her a hug. She needed one as much as I did. Distracted driving is no joke. Please receive this as an invitation to pay closer attention when you are out driving for your own sake and the sake of others on the road with you.
    Peace and safe travels!
