    Freaking beautiful man! Thank you. I tried optically contacting salt disks. I kept cleaning them and cleaning them, but they only got thinner and it never worked!

    Can I do it at home? Can I do it with bottom and top part of a bottle? I got a crazy idea of paper ship in the bottle. I'll be happy if you could guide me.

    so is this an adhesive or just air pressure like sticking together the machinist bars?

      It's a phenomenon called ringing. The two surfaces are so flat that there is a molecular interaction that occurs which causes them to essentially bond together.

    • @LoadBearingSolder
      @LoadBearingSolder 3 роки тому

      It's a covalent bond between the glass surfaces

      @@foxxxof So in short, it is just like with machinists blocks then.

      not covalent. _inter_molecular forces hold it together, not _intra_molecular forces

      Those are called finger cots. 10 for a buck delivered on Ebay. The possibilities for fun are endless. Leave one on the counter/sink in the restroom of a high class restaurant, show your date you have come prepared with protection for later in the evening as an ice breaker, or a deal breaker if she has no sense of humor, slip one into your father's/son's/uncle's wallet then ask if they have a dollar to compare to yours, the possibilities are truly endless.
