Facts? A hair strand test cannot go back 12 months so I'm not sure about that being factual.
If you already have 12 months previous growth then that can be tested.
New hair growth will only show what substances you may or may not have taken from that point onwards.
Kinda confused though, he said he forgot about the test and he got a call when he was with his friend after leaving training, but back in those days he said he had to hurry back because he was moving house, he knew what he was doing.

I love that Howson is in this podcast. It must be a dream come true for him, but he definitely adds to the quality of the channel. Having an average Joe fan alongside the famous superstar Rio and Rio's mate who is an Arsenal fan makes it a cracking trio to listen to, or VIBE with. I always thoroughly enjoy watching the podcast, because these 3 guys are so different from one and other, but fit together great. It's been tried before but they don't have the same chemistry that these 3 dudes do.

All he had to do was pretend he forgot to attend the test. Fair enough he'd still get a ban but much reduced and crucially, he'd also get away with doping.
either way, I am supporting him. Doping allegation did not surprise me as it just showed how badly he wanted to play being injured for almost two years. However he was tested after a game where he started on the substitute bench coming back from injury..I have always found that scenario a bit strange.

This subject has always fascinated me. Every sport has had drug scandals (especially ones with financial gain). So why has football not had more? I’m highly suspicious that the numbers and percentages just don’t add up.
Not an excuse, but high-level football required too many skills to be good at. So even if somebody took ped, they can only add an advantage into stamina. They are not going to turn into Thiery Henry simply by running better than him. Scholes had asthmas, terrible athleticism and still able to play almost to his 40s. There are plenty of legal way to remain competitive.
Also, football governing official are not known for proactive anti-doping efforts.

But in terms of endurance and cardio they make a huge difference, especially in the modern game. In the 90’s Many Italian teams were using the same doctors involved with cycling teams, a sport which was rife with doping cheats and many believe still is. I just don’t believe football is as squeaky clean as they say it is.
@@r4mediaentertainment813 I'm not saying that it is squeaky clean. The testing procedures had to be updated and the organizations seem to be very unwilling. It made less difference in the very elites of the sport but it certainly gave a boost if you are in the lower tier trying to climb up. Since most of focus nowadays is watching elite football, ped alone would not cut it, that's why it is not often heard of.
Pogba, if intentionally cheat, might be desparate in his age. The situation with his brother, the death of his agent, and his constant injuries and online criticisms might get to him. He did not seem to use it before, otherwise his consistency would not be criticized as much.

I'll never understand how Rio got 8 months for missing a test but Mutu got 7 months for failing a test, both in 2004. Negouai (2003) got a fine of £2000.

EtH came to the Club in April '22 had enough time to assess the situation but decided not to convince Pogba to stay, instead try to prepare to bring DeJong to the Club. Its easy to detect a racist players, its not easy to detect a drug cheat , they need to put a statement and anyone thinking of doing a scheme to bypass the testing needs to think twice.

Any length of ban for missing an appointment is a nonsense. But also, if the club knew that missing a drugs test is a potentially ban-worthy issue, why did they not have proper controls in place to prevent that from possibly happening? The whole affair was ridiculous.
The club didn't know they were going to ban Rio for missing the test cause when it happened previously nothing happened to the player. If the club had known they probably would've put someone on Rio and follow him around to remind him of the test
What controls? They told Rio to get ready for his drugs test and then Rio fled from the training ground. What could the club have done differently? Handcuffed him until he takes the drug test?

As a business owner, if I tell an employee to take a drugs test and then they leave without taking it, there is no reasonable explanation other than that they didn’t want to take the drugs test. I don't think you've had many staff otherwise you'd have more understanding of people and their ways.
You've got these guys telling you what actually happened at Manchester United then and how it's different now, and why they changed. Yet you can't seem to accept that it makes sense and it's practical.
Remember that a £100 million player unable to play for 1-3 years would be a serious loss, which can be prevented by having one of the training staff be their shepherd until the test is complete.
Continuous improvement, learning from mistakes, no one is perfect, limits of human performance and thought.
And keep it simple. If it works, it works.
