Hi Wendy. I just booked for 2 weeks on the Marella Discovery 2. First time with them and quite newish to Cruising. Do you know if the buffet is just a walk in style, find a seat and just get food? No booking needed?. Then I assume there is also the big fancy dining area for breakfast/lunch/dinner where there are different cuisine menus daily where we have to book for a slot to sit and eat. I dont think we will be going to the chargable restaurants like the sushi bar etc. If you could enlighten me that would take away some of my anxiety and stress. Thank you
@stephenng9277 There are always seats in the buffet and the selection of food is very good. There is also a drinks station where you can get beer, wine and soft drinks. We however always have breakfast and dinner in the main dining room. You don't have to book, just turn up. At busy times you may be asked if you mind sharing. If there are no tables available (and in five cruises this has only happened once). you are given a buzzer which goes off when your table is ready. There are three courses served by delightful friendly staff and your wine glass is regularly topped up without your having to ask. There is a weekly 'Dress to Impress' evening but it is not too formal and as long as you don't turn up too casually you will be fine. My husband refuses to dress up! I am sure you will love Marella as much as we do and we may even see you on board
