Five years later, I feel like I get the bigger picture. It’s not the fact I think Nicki Minaj was expecting a whole Lotta praise. The moment Cardi said this in this interview, to everyone watching it was all but clear that there was tension between her and Nicki. However, this is not some thing that Nicki wanted. Cardi wanted her to change her verse, and Nicki Minaj did exactly that. But then Cardi took it public, because she knew it would be damaging to Nicki.
Now people had the right to say that Nicki Minaj was bitter, and acting like Lil Kim, because Cardi B gave life to it. Nicki Minaj felt blindsided.

Look at her body language, out of all of the splendors to be garnered from that Colab and from that fire song, why did she immediately go there? She tried to feign innocence by not wanting to discuss things, but then she did, without revealing the full story.

Nicki originally had cardi name in her verse(a shout-out actually) but for whatever reason they made nicki take cardi’s name out her verse and so after cardi said nicki verse was different they she didn’t tell the real reason why and just let nicki get all the slander that she was dissing cardi on the track or trying to one up cardi for changing her verse and cardi and Migos said nothing while this was happening
