    I just watched your video and thought this is pretty simple...I've cleaned the filter on a different brand, so I had a go. Unfortunately for me, the cap was stuck...I called Hoover and they were very helpful and suggested that there could be something stuck behind the cap...so I got a torch and glasses and persevered, trying to coach it out, but afraid to use a screwdriver or anything like that to assist me, since everything was made of pvc/plastic and I did not want to damage it. Anyway, yes, there was a drill bit stuck in there and when I got that out, the cap came off...also, there was heaps of stuff in the filter, including coins. I'm just posting this here in case someone else has the same problem. These videos are great for DIY'ers!! Thanks so much. It also taught me how important it is to clean the filter more often!

      So far I’ve coaxed a few coins, a metal thing and two stones? Out but not the filter… and half a mop bucket filled 😂 it’s late but I don’t understand people who leave their laundry to stew lol so I will try some more 🤞🤞🤞🤞

      Charlotte Baker hi Charlotte, tbh it hasn't bothered us in a while now. Trying to remember what I did apart from just clean what I saw I could get access to. Had it on its back for a while to try and access other areas but very cautious about tinkering too much with a washing machine, scary electrics in there! Large capacitors etc. I don't think this video helped tbh. If I remember anything I'll post back. Good luck with it! Hope you get sorted.

    • @garrethbert
      @garrethbert  3 роки тому +1

      It might be worth cleaning out the fabric conditioner / washing powder drawer. You can take it out and soak out all the gunk. Also the pipe below that can get clogged, so putting a mix of bleach and water in the drawer, leaving it for 30 minutes and then running the machine empty on the hottest cycle might clear it.
      If that doesn’t work, reply and there are some more things to try

      @@ilariarigoni6885 that sucks.
      First thing, try unplugging machine for 5 minutes, plugging back in then turn washer to drain / spin cycle. Does that clear the error?
      If not, then check the flexible drain hose at the back of the machine for obstructions and kinks. And check the drain it connects to for blockages (is it connected to a slow draining kitchen sink u-bend?)
      When the washer stops to try to drain, do you hear a gurgling noise? (Trying to see if the pump is turning on)

    • @ilariarigoni6885
      @ilariarigoni6885 3 роки тому +1

      @@garrethbert Yes I hear the gurgling noise and when I turn the machine off and then on again, the error is still showing😞 so for now I empty the filter and wash it, but I had to call someone who is coming soon and hopefully sort it. I think that the problem is in the pipes, as you say.

      @@amytaylor7183 thanks!!!! I just restarted the machine now... Let's hope it doesn't get clogged again. I'll do a couple of empty circles after. Thanks again!

    If cleaning up the pump didn't work for you, then it's the heating element. I replaced mine and error went away.

      masterfan0 exactly - same happened to me. Error went away at first, then kept coming back. Eventually changed element and it went away forever

    Mine doesn't have a pull out drainage pipe?!?

    • @garrethbert
      @garrethbert  4 роки тому

      There must be some way to get the water out. It might just be like a bung and pop out. Followed by a gush of soapy frothy grey water

      The place where he pulls out the very convenient hose there is a stopper, when I have to pull out filter I have to lay down shed loads of towels 😣

    It'd help if you filmed what you were doing with the filter, instead of focussing on the towel....

    Didn't have a pull out water pipe bit, didn't seem to be much water anyway.... No there was masses of smelly water. Nice big clean up ahead, but washing machine is fixed. Good few coins and stones (from my 6 yr olds pockets) in the filter.
