    Nice, most videos are for people who already know about sidemount. I recently got certified after 12 years of backmount diving and now got my own full set that I managed to set up without any manuals (why don't they add those!)
    So this video is super helpful!

    Thanks, Josh you made that look really easy. I really like the DIY option you presented. It's refreshing not to have a single product plugged in the entire video. I too am cheap, I'm called "the garage sale diver" lol. Great info thanks again.

      Glad you found the video helpful. There are so many options to rig tanks, we wanted to cover the rigging we use.

    Bro thank you, u covered many things. I did not DIY mine, but I thought about it lol.
    But u reached many viewers, to show them diving is not for the rich. But can be done many ways, if u want to dive.
    There is always someone that will give you the shirt off their back. This is what diving is!!

    I’m older , not diving so often. So I just saw a diving video by a doctor talking about folks like me. Side mount was one of the big suggestions. I had just bought a 100CF tank. Thinking that’s a bit big . Then I see folks side tanking with one

    Sweet looking at setting one of my aluminum 80cf tanks similar as a dedicated lift bag inflator. Cheers, #SeattleRingHunter

    Hello Josh, any chance you can do a video for single side mount set up?

    • @everythingscuba
      @everythingscuba  3 роки тому +3

      Yes Francis, we will go over single tank sidemount setup in an upcoming video. Thank you, Josh

      H Peterson, for most of my dive plans I use Faber galv. LP85s. They are a great size, have great buoyancy characteristics, and sometimes get filled to 3000psi “accidentally”. When renting tanks it is almost always AL80s. Thanks for the question, Josh

    Thanks for this amazing video :) Would you recommend starting out with a sidemount setup right away, or should I initially learn diving with the traditional backmount setup?

    Could you give me a recommendation to set the distance between the vaulve and t he fixed ring of the thanks, since I,m short 1.65 m and I still can not avoid that the empty thanks float far from my body. Thank you so much. Vanesa

    Hi Josh, great video! Can I ask the reference of the cam band you're using in the DIY travel kit? I love your setup but can see my own cam bands won't slide through a D-ring blockers like yours (sewed in).

    How did you create the nylon line + double bolt snaps in the DIY setup?

  • @CorrupteddSanity
    @CorrupteddSanity 3 роки тому

    In the third system - how do you determine where to set the camband/lower bolt snap?
    I'm asking because at this point I don't have my own tanks and therefore use dive center tanks.

      Generally I start near the midpoint of tank with the tank band above the boltsnap leash. This depends on your harness setup, for me that works to get close, then I can adjust from there. I know some divers who measure the distance and always setup the same, others, especially those renting tanks, just get it close and dive

    I don't see an 'upcoming video on bungees'; at 4 min into the video I'm wondering what the real purpose is of the 'tank choker' to tie off the upper clip, I thought the upper clip went to the upper d-ring of the BCD.

    • @everythingscuba
      @everythingscuba  3 роки тому

      Thanks Hojo in SC, we have not posted the Sidemount bungee video yet. Once you see the Dive Rite bungee ring system the choker will make more sense. Keep watching, Josh

      @@everythingscuba any updates on that video? Would love to learn why some use two bolt snaps on the tank and some use just the bottom one and secure the top with the bungee off their BC

    Lots of scope to make huge improvements to that rigging configuration if it's to be used with aluminium cylinders. Little expertise on display. There needs to be far more attention to detail and principled methodology with configuration. The current best practices offer far better performance and user-experience. Most of the kit described, especially the cylinder rigging, would be firmly discouraged to my own students; it's amateurish and sloppy. I wouldn't want them impeded by poor gear performance when on courses with steep learning curves.

      With this setup, you'll never get 'em sitting the correct way.
