There's a nut on the bottom on the drum. It's used to adjust the alignment. Turn it either clockwise or counterclockwise while the mixer is running until the grinding noise quietens or disappears. Also tighten the nuts around the centre where the noise is more audible.
We bought something similar for my father in laws 70 birthday. His never went outside his garage now saw a drop of water. He used it to mix grit and soil to make potting compost for his principle interest, growing alpine plants. All i can say is it did last nearly ten years of pretty frequent use. I thought it bizarre, but one thing he did when creating a new lawn was to mix up very dry sharp sand with the grass seed in the mixer and we simple spread that in place. It did make a very nice lawn!
A first class and very helpful review, just finished assembling my new mixer, the price has increased (August 2024) to £249, although I still thought this was very good value, I used to have a Belle minimix which now costs nearly £500, Assembly was fairly straightforward, but took me around three hours, Doing it again, I could probably do this in an hour. Personally I like the short power lead because when you are moving the mixer around you haven't got a long lead trailing in the way, although I appreciate you could wrap it round the motor housing. On mine, they must have modified it, because the way the motor attached to the mixer was different, it slotted down on to it, and was held by three long bolts, My machine was quiet with no grinding noises, certainly no more than you would expect. I haven't used it yet, to be fair, but so far I would 100% recommend this machine, I bought it through EBay. Delivery was 48hrs.
I have to say I have almost identical mixer but different brand that I bought used off eBay. An absolute life and back saver when doing a job at home. Easy to sell once you have finished the project. I would say bit of pest to transport if you want to use at your mate's and that rattle every revolution is awful. If you ever work that out do share!
I have this. The paddles were a pain the backside but did a 6x4m slab with it over 9 hours no problems. (wouldn't do that again tbh) good value though 👍
Most of these badged items are made in China, bit of lucky dip - sometimes you get a really good one, other times even a skip throws it out. It sounded good and cement mixery, even with the rumble - I've used noisier. Great review and thanks for sharing.
Purchased the Mix65 with the same gnarling noise between cog and drum track. The supplier NMA Agencies replaced it but the same fault reappeared. Take the drive gear safety shield off and feel 3-mm shaft play then hand rotate the drum and watch the cog drift towards the inner or outer track edge and excruciating noise. If the shaft moves towards the drum remove the shaft circlip and place a 25-mm O.D.1-mm thick washer over the 12-mm shaft and replace the circlip. It is a drift limit. The all4dh8rz post is inspirational. The adjustment is not in the manual.
Very impressed with your channel, which I’ve only just found (blame a sleepless night!). Surely it’s not a rack and pinion but a crown-wheel and pinion? (I’m an ex motor-mech...). Looking forward to future videos. Searching for one on insulating a garage - your garage ‘door’ is the closest I’ve found so far. Les
Stuart, another great video. Your channel is taking off buddy. The wheels, maybe easier to remove and clean with the split pin arrangement.....Keep up the great work, I look forward to your videos. You are among only 2-3 channels I bother to follow, I enjoy your in depth no nonsense approach and your wit, makes my smile...LOL
This mixer is sold under many names. Ive used and abused my yellow version and its done well... oh and yes it does have that once per rev noise. I think its cause the gears arent cut quite correctly, but it will soon wear in.... Thanks for the humour!
I've got the Clarke contractor that these were based on. If you remove the top bolts where the legs attach, you can fold the base legs under and still wheel it around. Jones 10trs old and just fine. Its been abused too.
Another great video mate. Your delivery and persona are fantastic, you should have your own TV programme mate. Can't wait for the next one and next one and next one.
Having worked in a trade store one of the most common faults on electric mixers were the power cables being damaged in various ways , infact. Belle wouldn't exchange them without examining them first because of this reason. So this maybe why this manufacturer has chosen to fit a short cable?
I know you wasn't taking a shit when reading the instructions, but I often find myself, having tried and failed to assemble something sans instructions, sitting contemplatively on the bog reviewing the correct assembly sequence. I'm keen to stress that this is not to hide from my missus and her 'I told you so' face. No, definitely not hiding.
Love your videos Stuart. Must say I thought you would have titled the video 'do you hire or buy-part 2' definitely a buy for that money 💰 and as others have said, love the added humour 😁
I have two cement mixers. Both have sat outside for 15y. They get used a lot. Both are absolutely fine without protection. Rare in a tool. I prefer the simple mixers that just tilt. Nothing to go wrong - as you stated at the end 👍
Please protect the drum bearing too. I had the same mixer and its drum bearing seized because of water ingress. Also that put the drum out of kilter so the ring gear didn't engage with the motor pinion. It was then just scrap
Having watched this video I felt your pain 😢 when you was installing the paddles into the drum, as I too have the exact same mixer but I bought mine from JTF and the ONLY difference in them is mine is orange. I've been using it on most weekends now over the summer doing work in my garden but then on Saturday whilst about to unload a mix the drum stopped working but the motor was still going strong. I'm hoping i can find out what went wrong with it and fix the issue. My only other comment is that i bought it brand new and paid £89 for it, yes it was on offer but the normal price was £109 . Sorry but cheaper than aldi.
@@C4sp3r123 I bought mine from JTF in Leeds but they have stores all over the UK. I know that recently they were taken over by the pound land company. Best to have a look on Internet i know that when it was still JTF they actually delivered items for about £5. Hope this helps you out👍.
hmm, I think your review is spot on. Don't bother with it, instead find yourself a second hand professional mixer ie. a "half bag" Belle. Very frequent item on the unusual second hand tool selling places,. The compactor (wacker) plate on the other hand is a very good value item for semi pro use.
Gret Video, I need to point out when you are trying to attach the flexion to left handed flexible spigot gear, you need to have the rolloc on your left not on your right otherwise its the right-handed flexible spigot gear

Many years since I used one, but I remember cleaning a mixer out quite easily at the end of the day with just a rubber-gloved hand and a little water. If the remnant has been left long enough to go hard, you can wear it down by running the mixer with some gravel in the drum.
It was from Aldi I think he said, if you google Aldi Special Buys and I think they appear on there from time to time. Might be a page to bookmark and check regularly as I think they only do them in batches, buy it while it lasts type of thing.

I always put plenty of grease around the gears on my mixer before using, it does help quieten it down and also stops rusting.

Bought one recently, and if I'm honest it's probably better to use than the ones I've been hiring (due to the adjustable angle).
The angle of mix is far more important than people realise - good to be able to adjust it for sure

Great review, although mixer does rattle like my knee's!
Assume mix rates would be similar to that of previous vid, though in a mixer may vary?
Thanks. I couldn't say about mix rates - I do know it will easily keep up with anything I need it for except for mass concrete - like a shed base
Agree most brits will call it a cement mixer.

Btw these wheels keep moving when they are covered with concrete and sand.
Your assumption is right, its to keep the electric socket of the ground. Most if not all cement mixers sold ìn France have a very short lead.
