Roger, it will be coming... sorry for the delay... already filmed it, but I had to leave town on a "real job" for a couple weeks to put food on the table... will finish the edit next week hopefully! ride on :)
i always put my valve caps on while carrying the spare tube to keep the valve from attacking the tube. i also electrical tape over the battery terminals for safety green is fresh and red is dead. love that sleep pad, i bounce between it and the foldy one depending on packing situations, i do like how you can use the folding version with a little more ease are versatility but the rolling ones seem to hold the warmth rating longer. love the set up vids and set up reviews after a trip are really important.
Great review of JP's gear! Getting dialed in is such an important, yet confusing task! Not bad when you leave your house and test your gear, but to be without that back up of home comfort, selecting the choices, and back-up plan, KEY! I am still questioning how anyone would keep their feet dry crossing a creek, with water levels above the boot line! I've just had my feet wet so many times, nothing dangerously, but aren't you just hoping for the best with the gear Jay described? Thanks for taking the time to interview Jay again, Allan! Loved it!
James, thanks for watching and commenting :) Much appreciated. I've never needed it yet, but do have friends using the exact methods that Jay has described to stay dry in shin-high ice-cold creek crossings... sno-seal and shoe goo on the boots, two sets of vapor barriers, gore tex gaiters, gore tex rain pants, ski straps around the leg... maybe next winter, I'll test it for a video? sounds like a fun one! ride on :)
Just Amazing how much stuff he carried and his attention to detail was incredible and probably very necessary. Great video to show all of the gear one needs to take and still be able to ride.
Great as always ! Next video about the race summary from Jay and Jacob as well since he has fresh view on stuff . Places and times as well . Thank you Allen !
Marcin, I'm making a video that includes footage from the race and post-race interviews, etc - but I had to take a "real" job for a couple weeks... so haven't been able to finish it yet... but it's coming - ride on!
Great video of the gear. I am in Anchorage and could not get to Big Lake until Friday night. Wanted to see Josh finish but he was already over the line. Next year🤠
Great knowledge on the post ride! This series sure is making me want to do an winter Ultra. I gotta figure out how to block the cold on the sleep kit. I still fill the cold thru my foam pad. Like JP said almost ready for spring / summer.
Hi Jeff, he had that custom made years ago... actually he had 2 made years ago (Jacob borrowed the other one)... the biggest I've seen is 44L by hyperlite... Jacob was gonna use the 35L sea to summit, but switched to JayP's bag at last minute... sorry I can't help more!
Hi. I’m looking at this frame but am between sizes. How tall are you and what size did you ride. I know you said it was a great fit. Also inseam? Thanks!
Hi Rob, I ride a medium, and I'm 5'9" and I think my inseam is around 30" - ride on :) - if you give a why a shout, they should be able to help you find your size as well... they have great customer service - ride on!
@@DirtyTeethMTB thabks man. Your video was great and definitely swayed me in the direction of the iron. I was on the fence between a bearclaw Frank but like the geo better on the why
Machine 7, those are an older model of the 45nrth Wolfgar... Jay goes through the whole clothing setup in this video: ua-cam.com/video/j-RQ28SZyec/v-deo.html -- ride on!
Hi Bob, the bag for his sleep kit was custom made, years ago... I believe it's around 45-50L... I'm pretty sure Jacob found something similar on Amazon, though... many people ask so I'll hit Jacob up and see if I can't find a link... thanks!!
Dirty Teeth, this series on Jay and Jacob has been fantastic. A post race debrief from JayP and Jacob would round it off. keep up the good work
Yes I'd like to hear their combined take on the race!
Excellent programme presented by a exceptional adventurer.
Ditto!

Omni Terra - Jay is a wealth of knowledge, right? Every time I film with him a soak up some great info!!
Thank you both for taking the time to pass along this knowledge. I feel like you just saved me about a 1,000 miles “figuring it out” riding 😂

Great vid man! Can you explain the turkey bag between the liner sock and the thick wool sock?
Thanks, Kri - I explain the turkey bag/vapor barrier system in this video: ua-cam.com/video/ppNWd3eAmb4/v-deo.html - hope that helps!
Thank you for this update. any idea what sleep roll bag that was or where to get something like it.

I'm guessing those luminous yellow socks were white at the start of the event...
haha!!
What kind of boots are those?
