I didn't expect we would get another giant pterosaur, Thanatosdrakon is my favorite of this DLC.
And another addition to the list of South American Pterosaurs in the game!
Is it giant though? Standing next to the fish feeder, it doesn’t look that big.

It’s already stated on the website that it’ll have a wingspan of a round 30 feet, so basically it’ll be in between the Quetz and the largest Pterosaurs that we already have; being the pteranodons, Geosternbergia, and tropeognathus.
So it’ll be a somewhat scientifically accurate giant, and possibly the second largest Pterosaur in the game.
The name of the pack screams this is the last pack. Especially with the news of a new game on the way.

I really like how bulky the Megalodon is. Kinda reminds me of a Bull Shark.
Jurassic park novel creators now with Segisaurus and Microceratus: Finally, my collection is complete!
Segisaurus wasn’t in the novels, they had Procompsognathus in the first book and Ornitholestes in the second.
Eh… Segisaurus wasn’t in the book, and we still need Procompspgnathus, Othniela, Hadrosaurus, Mussusaurus, Ornitholestes, and Hypsilophodon. Although most of those can easily be replaced with another already in game species.
I think we're only missing the hypsilophodons from the book at this point.
Dammit! How are there still more novel species missing!?
@@Gorgonopsidcommenter I mean for the novels Crichton just had to write down their names, he didn’t need to design them. We don’t even get a description or see some of them in the book. We only know they were on the island because they gave us a list of animals on Nublar in the first book. We still don’t know all the animals that were on sorna though…
This pack feels very much like a collection of some of the most requested creatures - As mentioned, microceratus and segisaurus have both been highly requested, as has megalodon. It's also nice to see that we're getting another azdarchid! Though I hope there is more to the free update, seeing as we didn't get one at all last time. I really like the colouration on the microceratus, that blue and purple frill is absolutely beautiful!

Great whites don't actually have black eyes, if you look closely their eyes are a deep blue. I love how they gave that to megalodon, huge attention to detail there (though I would've preferred if they gave it more unique eyes found in other species)
Micoceratus color looks very similar to the Micoceratus on the JP river adventure ride at Universal studios Orlando.
So we got one Cenozoic creature, two dinosaurs that appeared in the JP novel, and one dinosaur that appeared in the anime The Adventures of Anya & Quentin? Huh. Unexpecting.

Feel like they’ve missed the opportunity to give us a megalodon jaw decoration…wish we had more marine decs like a mosa skeleton or a rock formation with ammonites etc, would look amazing in and around lagoons and aquatic guest areas

Very happy with the dlc and the two features being added. I truly think the only thing that would finally make this game feel “complete” is if sauropods, the largest land creatures to ever exist, actually defend themselves. I envision a sauropod rearing up on their hind legs and crushing the opponent
Or in the carnivore attack animation, there's a chance of the Sauropod using it's tail to bat away (specific for Diplodocus and Ankylodocus) the carnivore or kicking the leg that gets bitten back to clonk the carnivore in the head.
Imagine the physics fun you could get with Diplodocus sweeping its tail to send a predator flying!
The Megalodon looks pretty good, and it thankfully isn't just a scaled-up great white. I love the Microceratus so much, it's such a cute little gremlin and it is long overdue. I was also surprised to see the Segisaurus make an appearance, even if it doesn't feel especially unique at this point. I really like the look of Thanatosdrakon, the patterning around the face and beak is pretty great, it's going to be gorgeous flying around the aviaries.
I'm also a little surprised that the kelp is the only major addition in the free update... I mean, the kelp is great. But on the scale of free update additions, it's pretty minor. This does feel like maybe Frontier is wrapping up JWE2, this "Park Managers' Collection" definitely seems like they're rounding out the roster before ending work on the game. If so, it's not a bad pack to end on. If not... well, maybe Frontier will surprise us with one last chunky DLC and update as JWE2's finale. Honestly, not sure. We'll find out. Hopefully they'll tell us.

Thanatosdrakon was a big surprise and an unpopular choice for another pterosaur. At first I thought it was Hatzegopteryx.
Btw I love that we’re now getting Microceratus & Segisaurus the two dinosaurs that were apart of the original park.
I think they chose Thanatosdrakon specifically because it kills two birds with one stone.
Give us another Azdarcid, and give is a lesser known species as well.

We get a new Azarchid Pterosaur, (Maybe, hopefully, with walking animations) and Frontier gives us a lesser known species, as they tend to do.
If it's the phrase you're confused about, it means something along the lines of "Accomplish two things at the same time"

I am so happy about Microceratus, and they did such a good job of recreating it! The reason why there are some inconsistencies with the movie version is because it was entirely portrayed by animatronics, no cgi at all (which is what I think is the reason why it took so long)
So in the end it did kind of end up being a small/giant species pack.

I feel like Segisaurus was kind of doomed on arrival since we already have dinosaurs that look like it and we also have a celophysis in the game. Maybe its a bit more unique in -game with animations and behaviour but i think they should have tired to give it feathers or something more visually unique to its design.
I can't blame Frontier since fans wnated every book and movie dino and this one had to be something that cant stand out enough.
That Megalodon looks so good, I don't feel like movies or other games do it much justice, as just a big ugly shark, or a bigger white shark, while this feels more unique

To say I'm excited is an understatement!
This is definitely an exciting pack!! But kinda disappointed it's not a Cenozoic pack as I was really expecting the smilodon to appear as it's the last creature missing from Camp Cretaceous

Yeah you are disappointed well I am very disappointed that frontier puts the megalodon with species that it doesn’t even fit with and waste there budget on a pterosaur species that no one has even heard of before, and make segisaurus look very similar to troodon, so they could’ve added the megalodon with Cenozoic animals because that is all that it fits with!!!!!
Maybe they have that one planned to be in the release of JWE3?

Now the oldest creature in the game is Dunkleosteus and the youngest being Megalodon!
I'm most looking forward to the Thanatosdraco, mostly because it gives us a paleo-accurate azhdarchid that isn't kaiju-sized and looks good in aviaries while still being significantly larger than existing pterosaurs.
There were three Microceratus skins in dominion. I think they are going off the Microceratus puppet with blue/green body with the yellow head (I’m sure the blue one is a separate skin). Besides that great dlc.

JWE 3 (if it is happening) needs to have every dino from the packs of this game and everything else they added in just the base game like JWE 2 did for JWE 1
_Kudos_ to Frontier for making the _MEG_ *NOT* just a scaled-up great white; that's what the crew behind the two "MEG" films did when designing their version of the creature (👏).
But what has _me_ personally excited about this DLC is *SEGISAURUS (😃)!* Sure, the physical design _could've_ used some tweaking, but I'm _still_ happy it's included' at long last, _the_ classic movie canon 1993 Isla Nublar species roster is complete!
I'm sad we won't be getting walking animations for our flyers, but am still really excited for it all

I hope every species in JWE2 base game and all dlc are in the base game for the third game so that the dlc for game 3 can be more focused on new species from paleontology and new shows/movies as well as new park features like building’s ,decorations, path bridges, submarine tours, hidden adventure roller coaster, gondola, actual staff like planet zoo etc.
I’m so excited and happy even tho I’m not a Cenozoic I’m so excited for microceratous,and we’re getting a Meg a Cenozoic representative and that’s enough for me and is amazing we get a novel Dino too and we got a giant flyer and I’m getting kelp and Big eaite I have all the rexes 🎉🤩✨🎉🎊✨

I'm looking forward to it. Wish they finished off the dinosaurs from the novels, though. Nanosaurus (Othnielia), Hypsilophodon, Mussaurus, and Ornitholestes would have been nice. Letting you give Carnotaurus a I. Rex like camouflage ability would have been a nice deep cut.
The scene where Big and Little Eatie get in a fight in the Camp Cretaceous series was kinda disturbing hahahahaha I thought about it yesterday when I rewatched the season five finale to get refreshed before the 24th. Poor Brooklyn.
This pack is my favorite thing they’ve done with DLC so far and can’t wait. I love how well Segisaurus fits in with the JP aesthetic. The Megalodon is very original, the Argentinian azdarchid is amazing and then the Microceratus looks better in this game than it did on film so I didn’t even know I liked it until now. Previously had hoped they’d have gone with the website design but the film design looks better in the game.
Honestly thought thanatodrakon was Hatzegopteryx

While I'm not the biggest fan of all the new animals, I really like Thanatosdrakon!!! The pattern and Colours are great! I've wanted some more Azhdarchids for a while now, so it's great to see one coming to the game! :)

Another Azhdarchid! it looks fantastic, a more reasonable alternative to our Kaiju-sized Quetzalcoatlus.

I'm super excited to get all these species' in my park, but I would've loved to have seen some love given to less species dense area (africa/ asutralia)

Honestly, regarding Segisaurus' design, that's always going to be a problem because we have all of the iconic theropods in the game and yes they do have the same builds between them aside from size and barring specific parts like Spinosaurus' sail, Concavonator's double hump, etc. People want more tyrannosaurs, but they would all be either Albertosaurus or Proceratosaurus in shape. Any new hadrosaurids would be either Edmontosaurus or Parasauralophus with a different crest. New ceratopsids would only be differentiated by frills and horns. And as seen with Segisaurus, being a coelophysid it resembles its relative Coelophysis. This seems to be something people forget when a new animal is added that is related to ones in the game, yes, they're going to look similar. Of course Frontier could always go the movie route and have crocodile armor and frilled lizard necks and spikes everywhere, but then people would be upset at that. I just find it a bit silly to complain about this aspect.
That's why my position is that paleoart (at least in entertainment like videogames) should not be afraid to speculate and add character to these animals. You can be accurate while at the same time filling in the blanks, otherwise 90% of animals of the same family will look the same. We will never know how these animals actually looked on the outside, so there's no harm in creativity with colors and integuments as long as it remains within the realm of possibility.
Segi could absolutely be feathered which would make it feel distinct. It could have a dewlap, etc. There's ways to make the dinosaurs much more interesting, but I think they went for a very specific JP style design here which is fine but dull

So is this the last dlc pack ? Because this pack still doesn't feel like frontier put a whole lot of effort into this pack and looks like we got another small free update again hopefully frontier finally brought out walking animation for the flying reptiles
I will say, I don't hate the Otodus. A good design that makes it look better than it could have..
Megalodon does have a shorter snout/face than modern day shark so the face should be shorter than a great white, it’s probably not short enough it looks to much like a tiger shark

Don't really care for the meg and segi (since it is literally coelophysis 2.0), but micro and thanatosdrakon look really good and hoping the JWE1 herbivore finishing animations are a surprise in the free update.

I can imagine that Cenozoic stuff will be the big thing for JWE3. I already remember how the announcement trailer for JWE2, ended with a shot of a mosasaur underwater so maybe they’ll do a similar thing for the next time. Just a hairy face obscured by grass with only the piercing green eyes and a bit of the teeth being the most visible, accompanied by a tiger like growl, and boom, now you got people excited for Smilodon and cenozoic stuff.
@@avelociraptorwithacomputer1402 Remember the Pteranodon from Return to Jurassic Park? Back in 2019 we all begged Frontier to give us flying reptiles. That pterosaur was simply cleaning its wings and squawking before flying around the Aviary in a looped animation. And when a tornado damaged the Aviary,the Pteranodon would fly out,never to be seen again. It was a hint to what Evolution 2 would introduce : much better flying reptiles and even marine species. I see the Megalodon as a hint to what the next entry in the series will add. (Even though Smilodon would not need entirely new mechanics to function like Pterano needed,maybe a Hatchery to raise live genomes instead of eggs.)

When we get JWE2, I think it’ll be great to add WAY MORE Paleozoic/pre Dinosaurs (Scutosaurus, Edaphosaurus, Gorognispid, Etc), more flying creatures with expanded animations, and some more recent or lesser known marine reptiles /fish. Can we please get more Triassic creatures, that would be perfect (Plateosaurus, Placerias, Postosuchus, Sarcosuchus, Et)
Sarcosuchus is early Cretaceous, not Triassic... are you thinking of Saurosuchus?

Am I the only one that is kinda disappointed? I mean it’s a great dlc but I expected atleast Hatzegopteryx or indeed a Cenozoic pack but I do get why they didn’t do a Cenozoic pack bc there are to little of the mammals in the pack then or they need to make a expansion 😊

This is a good pack still wanted smilodon in the game but I don't mind a good looking Pterosaur and more little canon guys and little eatie is a good fill in.
